[背景]正常城市水平的道路交通噪声会导致紧张和睡眠障碍。过多的紧张激素和睡眠质量及持续时间的下降均可能增加患2型糖尿病的风险。[目的]研究长期暴露于住宅道路交通噪声是否与糖尿病风险增加有关联。[方法]以人口为基础的丹麦饮食、癌症与健康队列研究于1993--1997午纳入57053名50～64岁的参加者。从入组到2006年期间，从全国糖尿病登记系统中确定有3869例发生糖尿病，平均随访时间为9．6年。通过国家登记册，确定这些患者在1988年至2006年间的现有及既往居住地址，并且对所有住址的道路交通噪声进行评估。

Phosphorus fertilizers from less pure sedimentary sources become increasingly important, due to depletion of phosphorus from igneous rock of high quality. Consequently, robust methods with potential to remove various types of hazardous elements are required. Among such impurities, hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) is very likely to become a future challenge. Different industrial ways to treat phosphate rock are currently being practised, and we have here studied how chromium behaves when using the nitro-phosphate process. The reduction mechanism of Cr (VI) in nitric acid and phosphoric acid solutions was investigated by measuring redox potential and UV-VIS spectra. The results show that Cr (VI) is not stable in strong nitric acid solutions. Reduction of Cr (VI) species decreased with decreasing temperature, NO2 concentration, ionic strength and absence of light. Mitochondrial organelle transplantation (MOT) is an innovative strategy for the treatment of mitochondrial dysfunction such as cardiac ischemic reperfusion injuries, Parkinson’s diseases, brain and spinal cord injuries, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). However, one of the major challenges for widespread usage is a methodology for preservation of isolated mitochondria. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are phospholipid bilayer-enclosed vesicles released from cells. EVs carry a cargo of proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, metabolites, and even organelles such as mitochondria. Purpose: To test if EVs enhance the stability of isolated mitochondria. Methods: We mixed isolated mitochondria of fibroblasts with EVs of mesenchymal stromal cells (imEVs) (9:1 in volume) and stored the mixture at 2°C - 6°C for different time periods. We measured morphology, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and mitochondrial ATP content at 0, 2, 5 days. Key findings: After 2 days of storage, the mito-chondria without imEVs lost approximate 70% MMP (RFU: 1822 ± 68), compared to the fresh mitochondria (RFU: 5458 ± 52) (p 0.05). In agreement with MMP, mitochondria without imEVs lost significant mitochondrial ATP content (p 0.05), after 2 days of cold storage, compared to fresh mitochondria. Microscopy showed that imEVs promoted aggregation of isolated mitochondria. Summary: The preliminary data showed that imEVs enhanced the stability of isolated mitochondria in cold storage.

Immune modulatory vaccines (IMVs) are novel therapies designed to activate anti-regulatory T cells (anti-Tregs) [1]. Anti-Tregs recognize HLA-restricted antigens on the surface of regulatory immune cells derived from tumor microenvironment antigens (TMAs) [2], such as IDO [3], PD-L1 [4], and TGFβ [5, 6]. Having established that specific T cells recognize target cells in a TGFβ-dependent manner, we reported that such TGFβ-specific T cells are associated with clinical benefit and improved survival after combined treatment with radiotherapy (RT) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in patients with pancreatic cancer (PC) [7]. Additionally, we found that a TGFβ-based IMV impacted tumor growth in murine models of PC via immune modulation of the tumor microenvironment (TME) [8]. These data suggest that combining a TGFβ-based IMV with RT/ICI therapy will be beneficial for patients with PC.

Levels of L-carnitine in human seminal plasma are associated with sperm fatty acid composition

The fatty acid composition of spermatozoa has been shown to be important for their function,and L-carnitine is crucial for fatty acid *** levels in the seminal plasma positively correlate with semen quality,whereas high body mass index(BMI)is associated with both reduced semen quality and altered sperm fatty acid ***,we examined the associations between free seminal L-carnitine levels and sperm fatty acid composition as well as *** samples were collected and analyzed from 128 men with unknown fertility status and with BMI ranging from 19 kg m^(−2) to 63 kg m^(−2).Sperm fatty acid composition was assessed by gas chromatography,while free seminal L-carnitine analysis was performed using high-performance liquid *** linear regression analysis showed a positive correlation of free seminal L-carnitine levels with the amount of sperm palmitic acid(β=0.21;P=0.014),docosahexaenoic acid(DHA;β=0.23;P=0.007),and total n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(β=0.23;P=0.008)and a negative correlation of free seminal L-carnitine levels with lignoceric acid(β=−0.29;P=0.001)and total n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids(β=−0.24;P=0.012)when adjusted for *** was no relationship between free seminal L-carnitine levels and *** free seminal L-carnitine levels are associated with semen quality,the absence of a correlation with BMI suggests that reduced semen quality in obese men is independent of seminal L-carnitine.

A new Arctic MSS model derived from combined Cryosat-2 and ICESat observations

Due to the existence of seasonal or perennial sea ice cover,the determination of the Arctic sea surface is more difficult than that of mid-low latitudinal *** on the sea surface height in the ice-covered region,this paper constructs a new Arctic mean sea surface(MSS)model,named SUST22,by combining the measurements from ICESat and Cryosat-2 *** lead detection methods of ICESat and Cryosat-2 are first studied and modified to acquire sea surface measurements with better *** results have shown that the standard deviation of Cryosat-2-derived Arctic sea surface height is about 3–4 cm in 10-km resolution grids,while the value of ICESat is 5–6 *** the MSS construction procedure is discussed and the SUST22 MSS model is *** new model is compared with the other four Arctic MSS *** best agreement is found between SUST22 and DTU21 with an average difference of−4.0±5.2 *** models are also validated by ICESat-2 *** average difference between ICESat-2 and SUST22 is 15.8±7.4 cm,which shows that the new model SUST22 presents better consistency with the ICESat-2 than any of the other models.
