Co-free Li-rich layered oxides(LLOs)are emerging as promising cathode materials for Li-ion batteries due to their low cost and high ***,they commonly face severe structural instability and poor electrochemical activity,leading to diminished capacity and voltage ***,we introduce a Co-free LLO,Li_(1.167)Ni_(0.222)Mn_(0.611)O_(2)(Cf-L1),which features a cooperative structure of Li/Ni mixing and stacking *** structure regulates the crystal and electronic structures,resulting in a higher discharge capacity of 300.6 mA h g^(-1)and enhanced rate capability compared to the typical Co-free LLO,Li_(1.2)Ni_(0.2)Mn_(0.6)O_(2)(Cf-Ls).Density functional theory(DFT)indicates that Li/Ni mixing in LLOs leads to increased Li-O-Li configurations and higher anionic redox activities,while stacking faults further optimize the electronic interactions of transition metal(TM)3d and non-bonding O 2p ***,stacking faults accommodate lattice strain,improving electrochemical reversibility during charge/discharge cycles,as demonstrated by the in situ XRD of Cf-L1 showing less lattice evolution than *** study offers a structured approach to developing Co-free LLOs with enhanced capacity,voltage,rate capability,and cyclability,significantly impacting the advancement of the next-generation Li-ion batteries.

The image stress of straight screw dislocations parallel to the medium surface covered by thin heterogeneous films was analyzed and deduced, in order to calculate the image shear stress. The relationship between image stress and distance from the screw dislocation to the interface of pure aluminum and its oxide covering was calculated based on the analysis. It was shown quantitatively that a sign conversion of the image stress appears in the case of thin oxide covering, while dislocation would pile up near the interface because of the possible slips of the screw dislocations induced by the image stress, which might break down the very thin oxide covering. Further investigation on edge dislocations or other dislocation configurations need to be done.

Given the severe toxicity and widespread presence of cadmium (Cd) in staple foods such as rice， accurate dietary exposure assessments are imperative for public health. In vitro bioavailability is commonly used to adjust dietary exposure levels of risk factors; however， traditional planar Transwell models have limitations， such as cell dedifferentiation and lack of key intestinal components， necessitating a more physiologically relevant in vitro platform. This study introduces an innovative three-dimensional (3D) intestinal organoid model using a microfluidic chip to evaluate Cd bioavailability in food. Caco-2 cells were cultured on the chip to mimic small intestinal villi's 3D structure， mucus production， and absorption functions. The model's physiological relevance was thoroughly characterized， demonstrating the formation of a confluent epithelial monolayer with well-developed tight junctions (ZO-1)， high microvilli density (F-actin)， and significant mucus secretion (Alcian blue staining)， closely resembling the physiological intestinal epithelium. Fluorescent particle tracking confirmed its ability to simulate intestinal transport and diffusion. The Cd bioavailability in rice measured by the 3D intestinal organoid model (9.07% ± 0.21%) was comparable to the mouse model (12.82% ± 3.42%) but significantly lower than the Caco-2 monolayer model (26.97% ± 1.11%). This 3D intestinal organoid model provides a novel and reliable strategy for in vitro assessment of heavy metal bioavailability in food， with important implications for food safety and risk assessment.

An X-ray diffractometer that equipped with a two-dimensional detector is used for developing the technique of grainsize measurement for strong textured and coarse-grained Si steel sheet. The method is based on the concept thatthe position of diffraction spots depends on the orientation of individual grains. The two-dimensional detector hasthe ability to collect abundant diffraction information in seconds, thus it can be determined rapidly and accuratelywhether a series of diffraction spots come from the same grain. The experimental results show that this method canbe used for measuring grain size and its distribution in strong textured and coarse-grained metal sheets.

Influence of reaction stresses induced by dislocation slips onthe orientation evolution in bcc metals

A plastic deformation model for bcc metals is proposed in consideration of reaction stresses. The shear strains and the corresponding reaction stresses induced by the activation of dislocations are calculated in the model, which will influence the following dislocation activation. The rolling texture in bcc metals is simulated up to 80% reduc-tion, while the ratio of critical resolved shear stresses be-tween the dislocations slipping on the {110} and {112} planes is chosen as 0.95. The corresponding calculation is also con-ducted with the activation of second dislocation, if the dif-ference between the orientation factor of the two dislocations with maximal orientation factors is lower than 5%. It is shown that the simulated texture is closer to that of the 80% rolled interstitial free steels than other modeling. It is be-lieved that the new model can give more attention to both of the strain and stress continuities during the plastic deforma-tion of polycrystalline metals, and therefore approaches closer to the real deformation process in bcc metals.

The orientation distribution of recrystallization grains formed during annealing, as well as their misorientation relationship to the deformation matrix in cold rolled FeCo alloy have been investigated. It was found that most of the recrystallization nuclei were located near the boundary area with rather random orientations, and their misorientation angles to the deformation matrix were generally very high. However a few nuclei were also observed inside the deformation grains, to which they had very similar orientations. Therefore the misorientation angles between the nuclei and the deformation matrix were generally very low. The orientation and the misorientation distributions of the nuclei have very strong influence on the recrystallization process which could result in a very weak recrystallization texture. The corresponding mechanism is discussed.

The texture evaluation of α2 phase in Ti-25Al-10Nb-3V-1Mo sheet during rolling and annealing has been investigated by means of microstructure observation and ODF analysis. From the weak initial {1010} (1210) and {0001}(1210) textures a {1210}(1010) texture and a {0001}(uvtw)fibre texture are formed after cold rolling. The {0001} (1210) texture is also strengthened simultaneously. The activation process of slip systems is discussed concerning formation of the rolling texture. Because of the disappearance of {0001} (nvtw) fibre texture the primary recrystallization process should occur and the {1210}(1010) texture forms during annealing
