Research on vertical motion in mesoscale systems is an extraordinarily challenging *** for fewer assumptions,a new form of generalized vertical motion equation and a generalized Omega equation are derived in the Cartesian coordinate system(nonhydrostatic equilibrium)and the isobaric coordinate system(hydrostatic equilibrium),*** terms on the right-hand side of the equations,which comprise the Q vector,are composed of three factors:dynamic,thermodynamic,and mass.A heavy rain event that occurred from 18 to 19 July 2021 in southern Xinjiang was selected to analyze the characteristics of the diagnostic variable in the generalized vertical motion equation(Qz)and the diagnostic variable in the generalized Omega equation(Qp)using high-resolution model *** results show that the horizontal distribution of the Qz-vector divergence at 5.5 km is roughly similar to the distribution of the Qp-vector divergence at 500 hPa,and that both relate well to the composite radar reflectivity,vertical motion,and hourly accumulated *** Qz-vector divergence is more effective in indicating weak *** vertical cross sections,regions with alternating positive and negative large values that match the precipitation are mainly concentrated in the middle levels for both forms of Q *** temporal evolutions of vertically integrated Qz-vector divergence and Qp-vector divergence are generally *** perform better than the classical quasigeostrophic Q vector and nongeostrophic Q vector in indicating the development of the precipitation system.

Effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medical therapy for cancer-related fatigue: a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

OBJECTIVE:To assess the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medical therapy for cancer-related ***:We systematically searched eight electronic databases up to June 2017 for randomized clinical trials of traditional Chinese medical therapy for cancer-related *** authors independently extracted data and assessed the risk bias of the included trials using the Cochrane *** were analyzed by Rev Man 5.2 ***:A total of 23 trials involving 1832 participants identified with cancer-related fatigue were *** trials reported a beneficial effect of traditional Chinese medical therapy on cancer-related *** pooling the data from Chinese herbal medicine therapy and acupuncture or moxibustion therapy,respectively,significant differences were found between experimental groups and control *** improvement rates showed significant differences between traditional Chinese medical therapy and control groups[odds ratio(OR),7.62;95%confidence interval(CI),3.75-15.49;P<0.00001;and OR,3.78;95%CI,2.29-6.23;P<0.00001).Fatigue change scores also showed significant differences between the two groups(mean difference,-0.91;95%CI,-1.16 to-0.65;P<0.00001).Eleven trials demonstrated that traditional Chinese medical therapy improved the quality of life of cancer *** severe adverse effects occurred in traditional Chinese medical therapy ***:Meta-analysis showed that Chinese medical therapy seems to be effective and safe in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue.

Convective burst(CB) characteristics at distinct stages of a rapidly intensified Typhoon Mujigae(2015), are investigated based on a 72-h simulation. The spatial features show that almost all CB elements develop in the eyewall. The number of CBs in the inner-core region within a 100 km radius—which account for a large proportion of the total CBs, with a sharp increase about 6 h before the onset of rapid intensification(RI)—provides some indication of the RI of the typhoon. The CBs during pre-RI and RI are examined from dynamic and thermodynamic viewpoints. The combination of lower-level convergent inflow and upper-level divergent outflow pushes a relay-race-like transmission of convective activity, favorable for the development of deep convection. A double warm-core structure is induced by the centripetal outflow sinking and warming associated with CBs, which directly accelerates RI by a sudden decrease in hydrostatic pressure. By utilizing the convection activity degree(CAD) index derived from the local total energy anomaly, a correlation formula between CBs and CAD is ***, an intense CAD(ICAD) signal threshold(with a value equal to 100) to predict CBs is obtained. It is verified that this ICAD threshold is effective for estimating the occurrence of a CB episode and predicting RI of a typhoon. Therefore,this threshold may be a valuable tool for identifying CB episodes and forecasting rapidly intensified typhoons.

Response of a westerly-trough rainfall episode to multi-scale topographic control in southwestern China

This study aims to quantify the response of a westerly-trough rainfall episode that occurred in summer 2020 to multi-scale topographic control in southwestern China,based on observations and numerical *** multi-scale topography is composed of the Tibetan Plateau,Hengduan Cordillera(HC),and Sichuan Basin(SB).The westerly trough was characterized by southeastward deepening together with an in-phase propagating rainfall *** utilizing the results of numerical experiments,how the multi-scale topography impacted this westerly trough rainfall episode is *** is found that HC was the pivotal topographic factor affecting the southeastward extension of the trough and related rainfall,while SB accerelated the eastward movement of the westerly trough and changed the tilting direction of the trough line,thus further changing the location and orientation of *** extreme rainfall with intensity exceeding 10 mm h^(−1),a roughly threefold rise in the cover ratio(from 1.8% to 7.2%)and fourfold increase in the areal rainfall amount per hour occurred by removing the HC barrier,due to the strongest vorticity and long-distance transport capacity to potential vorticy mass accompanying the southeast-stretching *** results quantitatively reveal a strong response of westerly trough rainfall to multi-scale topographic control in southwestern China,therefore serving as an important reference for future decision making and effective model improvement.

The circulation, hygrothermal property and moisture transport character of typical hot and humid weather were analyzed in Beijing areas from July 30 to August 4, 2002. It was pointed out that, under the control of subtropical anticyclone which stretches to the west and north, downdraft suppresses the lifting of lower-troposphere moisture, which makes moisture keep in the lower troposphere. That is the direct reason causing hot and humid weather. Considering the non-uniformity saturated character in real atmosphere, generalized moist potential vorticity (GMPV) equation is derived by the introduction of generalized moist potential temperature concept. The analysis of GMPV shows that negative GMPV anomaly occurs in the lower troposphere. It has indicative sense to hot and humid weather. Thus, the GMPV anomaly can be utilized to identify this kind of weather and to make a short-term prediction.

Contribution of cloud condensate to surface rainfall processes is investigated in a life span of tropical convection based on hourly data from a two-dimensional cloud resolving simulation. The model is forced by the large-scale vertical velocity, zonal wind and horizontal advections obtained from tropical ocean global atmosphere coupled ocean-atmosphere response experiment (TOGA COARE). The results show that during the genesis, development, and decay of tropical convection, calculations with water vapor overestimate surface rain rate, and cloud condensate plays an important role in correcting overestimation in surface rain rates. The analysis is carried out in deep convective clouds and anvil clouds during the development of tropical convection. The surface rain rates calculated with water vapor in deep convective clouds and anvil clouds have similar magnitudes, the large surface rain rate appears in deep convective clouds due to the consumption of water hydrometeors whereas the small surface rain rate occurs in anvil clouds because of the gain of ice hydrometeors. Further analysis of the grid data shows that the surface rain rates calculated with water vapor and with cloud condensate are negatively correlated with the correlation coefficient of - 0.85, and the surface rain rate calculated with cloud condensate is mainly contributed to the water hydrometeors in the tropical deep convective regime.

OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the potential molecular mechanism by which Fuzheng Kang’ai decoction(扶正抗癌方,FZKA)inhibits proliferation,migration,and invasion of lung cancer ***:Varying FZKA concentrations were used to manage lung cancer cells(A549 and PC9).We employed:cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)and plate clone formation assays to examine the cell viability;flow cytometry(FCM)to analyze the cycle arrest;transwell and woundhealing assays to assess the cell invasion and migration,***,a quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR)assay was adopted to evaluate the miR-21-5p *** protein expression analysis,we employed the Western blot *** miR-21-5p overexpression adenovirus vector harboring GFP was constructed and transfected into A549 and PC9,after which we explored the effect of FZKA on miR-21-5p ***:Notably,treatment with FZKA inhibited viability,clone-formation ability,invasion,and migration of lung cancer ***,FZKA markedly suppressed miR-21-5p expression but elevated the human phosphatase and tensin homology deleted on chromosome ten(PTEN)protein level in both A549 and PC9 ***-expression of miR-21-5p lowered PTEN protein ***,overexpressed miR-21-5p levels with adenovirus antagonized FZKA-upregulated PTEN protein ***:The present study demonstrates how FZKA modulates cell biological behaviors,for instance,it impedes the proliferation by upregulating PTEN expression with miR-21-5p as the *** findings unveil the potential novel molecular mechanisms from the micro RNA aspect by which FZKA suppresses the growth of human lung cancer cells.

广义湿位涡在江淮流域暴雨分析和预报中的应用

利用中尺度数值模式MM5,以6h间隔的NCEP/NCAR1°×1°的格点资料为背景,加入新一代天气雷达(CINRAD-SA雷达)1h间隔的反演风廓线资料和12h探空、3h常规地面观测进行四维同化模拟得到的输出资料,检验非均匀饱和大气中的广义湿位涡在2003年江淮流域暴雨动力指示方面的分析和预报能力。理论分析表明:广义湿位涡综合体现了大气的动力、热力及水汽作用,相对于常用的温度、湿度等物理量来说,在一定程度上包含了风场、温度场和湿度场的相互作用,对实际非均匀饱和大气的热力变化和水汽影响有较好的反映。对模拟结果的诊断发现,广义湿位涡倾向值的正负及强弱变化对暴雨落区预报和单站降水变化趋势预报都有一定的指示意义。利用NCEP/NCAR1°×1°格点资料和气象台站观测的实况降水资料,对1999年长江流域梅雨和2007年淮河流域大洪水时期的广义湿位涡及其倾向变化与区域平均降水变化的对比分析进一步表明了在持续性暴雨发生时期,在大气中低层(主要在500hPa以下),确实持续存在广义湿位涡和广义湿位涡倾向的异常,这种异常能在一定程度上反映出对应时期的水汽分布和水汽集中特征,与降水量的变化是一致的,而850hPa以下的广义湿位涡倾向在一定程度上也能反映出降水的增强或减弱趋势,即:广义湿位涡倾向为正(负)异常时,未来降水量可能增加(减小),因此,广义湿位涡倾向可以定性地给出暴雨是加强还是减弱的强度趋势预报。类似于涡度、湿位涡等其他动力变量,广义湿位涡除了可作为一个分析暴雨系统发生发展的动力变量外,还可体现出暴雨时期高水汽集中的特点,在暴雨分析中有一定的优势。
