AIM： To investigate the feasibility and safety of monopolar electrocautery shovel （ES） in laparoscopic total mesorectal excision （TME） with anal sphincter preservation for rectal cancer in order to reduce the cost of the laparoscopic operation, and to compare ES with the ultrasonically activated scalpel （US）. METHODS： Forty patients with rectal cancer, who underwent laparoscopic TME with anal sphincter preservation from june 2005 to june 2007, were randomly divided into ultrasonic scalpel group and monopolar ES group, prospectively. White blood cells （WBC） were measured before and after operation, operative time, blood loss, pelvic volume of drainage, time of anal exhaust, visual analogue scales （VAS） and surgery-related complications were recorded. RESULTS： All the operations were successful; no one was converted to open procedure. No significant differences were observed in terms of preoperative and postoperative d I and d 3 WBC counts （P = 0.493, P = 0.375, P = 0.559）, operation time （P = 0.235）, blood loss （P = 0.296）, anal exhaust time （P = 0.431）, pelvic drainage volume and VAS in postoperative d 1 （P = 0.431, P = 0.426） and d 3 （P = 0.844, P = 0.617） between ES group and US group. The occurrence of surgery-related complications such as anastomotic leakage and wound infection was the same in the two groups.CONCLUSION： ES is a safe and feasible tool as same as US used in laparoscopic TME with anal sphincter preservation for rectal cancer on the basis of the skillful laparoscopic technique and the complete understanding of laparoscopic pelvic anatomy. Application of ES can not only reduce the operation costs but also benefit the popularization of laparoscopic operation for rectal cancer patients.

Proteomic identification and functional characterization of MYH9, Hsc70, and DNAjA1 as novel substrates of HDAC6 deacetylase activity

Histone deacetylase 6 （HDAC6）, a predominantly cyto- plasmic protein deacetylase, participates in a wide range of cellular processes through its deacetylase activity. However, the diverse functions of HDAC6 can- not be fully elucidated with its known substrates. In an attempt to explore the substrate diversity of HDAC6, we performed quantitative proteomic analyses to monitor changes in the abundance of protein lysine acetylation in response to HDAC6 deficiency. We identified 107 proteins with elevated acetylation in the liver of HDAC6 knockout mice. Three cytoplasmic proteins, including myosin heavy chain 9 （MYH9）, heat shock cognate pro- tein 70 （HscT0）, and dnaj homolog subfamily A member 1 （DNAjA1）, were verified to interact with HDAC6. The acetylation levels of these proteins were negatively regulated by HDAC6 both in the mouse liver and in cultured cells. Functional studies reveal that HDAC6- mediated deacetylation modulates the actin-binding ability of MYH9 and the interaction between Hsc70 and DNAjA1. These findings consolidate the notion that HDAC6 serves as a critical regulator of proteinacetylation with the capability of coordinating various cellular functions.

Microstructural evolution of a Ni-Co based superalloy during hot compression atγ'sub-/super-solvus temperatures

The effects of strain rate on the microstructural evolution and deformation mechanism of a Ni-Co based superalloy were investigated by isothermal compression tests performed atγ'sub-solvus(1090℃)andγ'super-solvus temperatures(1150℃)with a wide strain rate range from 0.001 to 10 s^(-1)under a true strain of *** backscatter diffraction(EBSD),electron channeling contrast imaging(ECCI)and transmission electron microscope(TEM)techniques were used to characterize the *** results revealed that the dynamic recrystallization(DRX)volume fraction increased and stored energy of theγ'matrix grains decreased with increasing the strain rate duringγ'sub-solvus temperature deformation,while the opposite phenomena were observed duringγ'super-solvus temperature *** comprehensive effect of initial grain size,primaryγ'phase,twins and adiabatic temperature rise led to these *** primaryγ'particles undergone the deformation behavior within itself and obviously accelerated the DRX of the *** microstructural evolution proved that discontinuous dynamic recrystallization(DDRX)was the dominant mechanism during the hot deformation carried out at bothγ'sub-solvus andγ'super-solvus ***γ'particles obviously accelerated the nucleation step and retarded the growth step of DDRX duringγ'sub-solvus temperature ***,the acceleration effect of primaryγ'particles on DDRX increased with the increase of strain *** dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)was confirmed to be an assistant mechanism duringγ'super-solvus temperature deformation and was promoted with the increase of strain rate.

Effects of Helicobacter pylori eradication on the profiles of blood metabolites and their associations with the progression of gastric lesions: a prospective follow-up study

Plasma spray-physical vapor deposition（PS-PVD） as a novel coating process based on low-pressure plasma spray（LPPS） has been significantly used for thermal barrier coatings（TBCs）.A coating can be deposited from liquid splats, nano-sized clusters, and the vapor phase forming different structured coatings, which shows obvious advantages in contrast to conventional technologies like atmospheric plasma spray（APS） and electron beam-physical vapor deposition（EBPVD）. In addition, it can be used to produce thin, dense, and porous ceramic coatings for special applications because of its special characteristics, such as high power, very low pressure, etc. These provide new opportunities to obtain different advanced microstructures, thus to meet the growing requirements of modern functional coatings. In this work, focusing on exploiting the potential of gas-phase deposition from PS-PVD, a series of 7 YSZ coating experiments with various process conditions was performed in order to better understand the deposition process in PS-PVD, where coatings were deposited on different substrates including graphite and zirconia. Meanwhile, various substrate temperatures were investigated for the same substrate. As a result, a deposition mechanism of heterogeneous nucleation has been presented showing that surface energy is an important influencing factor for coating structures. Besides, undercooling of the interface between substrate and vapor phase plays an important role in coating structures.

Simultaneous quantitative determination of eight index constituents and compatibility changes in Longchai Decoction by UPLC–Q-TOF-MS

The goal of this research was to develop a simple,rapid and sensitive method for simultaneous quantitative determination of salidroside,gardenoside,liquiritin,baicalin,wogonoside,wogonin,saikosaponin A and saikosaponin D in Longchai Decoction by ultra-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC–Q-TOF-MS),in order to control the quality of Longchai Decoction and to analyze the changes of chemical components before and after the compatibility of the component herb *** chromatographic separation was performed on the Waters ACQUITY BEH C18 column(2.1 mm100 mm,1.8μm)using the mixture of acetonitrile and 0.1%(v/v)methanoic acid as mobile phase with a gradient elution program at the flow rate of 0.3 mL/min and the column temperature of *** eight components of the standards achieved baseline *** analysis revealed a linear relationship(r 240.9998)between the contents and the peak areas of the mixed standard *** average recovery rates were between 99.72%and 102.13%with RSD values were less than 2.82%(n¼5).The obtained results indicated that the content of index components were higher in co-decoction compared to mixed *** method with a good resolution and high precision can be used for the quality control of Longchai Decoction.

Dominance of terrestrial moisture supply for the record-breaking extreme precipitation in Hubei, China on August 12, 2021

The real-time dynamic liquid level calculation method of the sucker rod well based on multi-view features fusion

In the production of the sucker rod well, the dynamic liquid level is important for the production efficiency and safety in the lifting process. It is influenced by multi-source data which need to be combined for the dynamic liquid level real-time calculation. In this paper, the multi-source data are regarded as the different views including the load of the sucker rod and liquid in the wellbore, the image of the dynamometer card and production dynamics parameters. These views can be fused by the multi-branch neural network with special fusion layer. With this method, the features of different views can be extracted by considering the difference of the modality and physical meaning between them. Then, the extraction results which are selected by multinomial sampling can be the input of the fusion *** the fusion process, the availability under different views determines whether the views are fused in the fusion layer or not. In this way, not only the correlation between the views can be considered, but also the missing data can be processed automatically. The results have shown that the load and production features fusion(the method proposed in this paper) performs best with the lowest mean absolute error(MAE) 39.63 m, followed by the features concatenation with MAE 42.47 m. They both performed better than only a single view and the lower MAE of the features fusion indicates that its generalization ability is stronger. In contrast, the image feature as a single view contributes little to the accuracy improvement after fused with other views with the highest MAE. When there is data missing in some view, compared with the features concatenation, the multi-view features fusion will not result in the unavailability of a large number of samples. When the missing rate is 10%, 30%, 50% and 80%, the method proposed in this paper can reduce MAE by 5.8, 7, 9.3 and 20.3 m respectively.
