A study on the surface overpressure distribution and formation of a double curvature liner under a two-point initiation

The formation mechanism of an EFP(explosively formed projectile)using a double curvature liner under the overpressure effect generated by a regular oblique reflection was investigated in this paper.Based on the detonation wave propagation theory,the change of the incident angle of the detonation wave collision at different positions and the distribution area of the overpressure on the surface of the liner were calculated.Three dimensional numerical simulations of the formation process of the EFP with tail.as well as the ability to penetrate 45#steel were performed using LS-DYNA software,and the EFP ve locity,the penetration ability,and the forming were assessed via experiments and x_ray photographs.The experimental results coincides with those of the simulations.Results indicate that the collision of the detonation wave was controlled to be a regular oblique reflection acting on the liner by setting the di-mensions of the unit charge and maintai ning the pressure at the collision point region at more than 2.4 times the CJ detonation when the incident angle approached the cnitical angle.The distance from the liner midline to the boundary of the area within which the pressure ratio of the regular oblique reflection pressure to the qJ detonation pressure was greater than 2.5,2,and 15was approximately 0.66 mm,132 mm,and 3.3 mm,respectively.Itis noted that pressure gradient caused the liner to turn inside out in the middle to form the head of the EFP and close the two tails of the EFP at approximately 120μs.The penetration depth of the EFP into a 45#steel target exceeded 30 mm,and there was radial expansion between the head and tail of the EFP,increasing the penetration resistance of the EFP.Therefore,the structural size of the unit charge and the liner can be further optimized to reduce resist ance to increase the penetration ability of the EFP.

Background The aim of this study was to review current delivery room(DR)resuscitation intensity in Chinese tertiary neonatal intensive care units and to investigate the association between DR resuscitation intensity and short-term outcomes in preterm infants born at 24+0_31+6 weeks gestation age(GA).Methods This was a retrospective cross-sectional study.The source population was infants born at 24+0_31+6 weeks'GA who were enrolled in the Chinese Neonatal Network 2019 cohort.Eligible infants were categorized into five groups:(1)regular care;(2)oxygen supplementation and/or continuous positive airway pressure(O2/CPAP);(3)mask ventilation;(4)endotracheal intubation;and(5)cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).The association between DR resuscitation and shortterm outcomes was evaluated by inverse propensity score-weighted logistic regression.Results Of 7939 infants included in this cohort,2419(30.5%)received regular care,1994(25.1%)received O,/CPAP,1436(18.1%)received mask ventilation,1769(22.3%)received endotracheal intubation,and 321(4.0%)received CPR in the DR.Advanced maternal age and maternal hypertension correlated with a higher need for resuscitation,and antenatal steroid use tended to be associated with a lower need for resuscitation(P<0.001).Severe brain impairment increased significantly with increasing amounts of resuscitation in DR after adjusting for perinatal factors.Resuscitation strategies vary widely between centers,with over 50%of preterm infants in eight centers requiring higher intensity resuscitation.Conclusions Increased intensity of DR interventions was associated with increased mortality and morbidities in very preterm infants in China.There is wide variation in resuscitative approaches across delivery centers,and ongoing quality improvement to standardize resuscitation practices is needed.

Cardiovascular computed tomography in cardiovascular disease:An overview of its applications from diagnosis to prediction

Cardiovascular computed tomography angiography(CTA)is a widely used imaging modality in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.Advancements in CT imaging technology have further advanced its applications from high diagnostic value to minimising radiation exposure to patients.In addition to the standard application of assessing vascular lumen changes,CTA-derived applications including 3D printed personalised models,3D visualisations such as virtual endoscopy,virtual reality,augmented reality and mixed reality,as well as CT-derived hemodynamic flow analysis and fractional flow reserve(FFRCT)greatly enhance the diagnostic performance of CTA in cardiovascular disease.The widespread application of artificial intelligence in medicine also significantly contributes to the clinical value of CTA in cardiovascular disease.Clinical value of CTA has extended from the initial diagnosis to identification of vulnerable lesions,and prediction of disease extent,hence improving patient care and management.In this review article,as an active researcher in cardiovascular imaging for more than 20 years,I will provide an overview of cardiovascular CTA in cardiovascular disease.It is expected that this review will provide readers with an update of CTA applications,from the initial lumen assessment to recent developments utilising latest novel imaging and visualisation technologies.It will serve as a useful resource for researchers and clinicians to judiciously use the cardiovascular CT in clinical practice.

Dear Editor,This letter investigates a novel stealthy false data injection(FDI)attack scheme based on side information to deteriorate the multi-sensor estimation performance of cyber-physical systems(CPSs).Compared with most existing works depending on the full system knowledge,this attack scheme is only related to attackers'sensor and physical process model.The design principle of the attack signal is derived to diverge the system estimation performance.Next,it is proven that the proposed attack scheme can successfully bypass the residual-based detector.Finally,all theoretical results are verified by numerical simulation.

Adult neural stem cells are neurogenesis progenitor cells that play an important role in neurogenesis.Therefore,neural regeneration may be a promising target for treatment of many neurological illnesses.The regenerative capacity of adult neural stem cells can be chara cterized by two states:quiescent and active.Quiescent adult neural stem cells are more stable and guarantee the quantity and quality of the adult neural stem cell pool.Active adult neural stem cells are chara cterized by rapid proliferation and differentiation into neurons which allow for integration into neural circuits.This review focuses on diffe rences between quiescent and active adult neural stem cells in nutrition metabolism and protein homeostasis.Furthermore,we discuss the physiological significance and underlying advantages of these diffe rences.due to the limited number of adult neural stem cells studies,we refe rred to studies of embryonic adult neural stem cells or non-mammalian adult neural stem cells to evaluate specific mechanisms.

Microplastics(MPs)have become a significant concern for their potential toxicity.However,the correlation between the size of plastic particles and their toxicity remains inconclusive.Here,we investigate the toxic effects of different sizes(80 nm,800 nm,8μm and 80μm)polystyrene MPs(PS-MPs)on the model organism Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus).The results of bioluminescent imaging indicate that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to invade the body.H&E staining shows severe damage on the intestinal villi and distinct hepatic steatosis in the 80 nm group.Ed U labeling shows that the proliferation activity of intestinal and liver cells reduces significantly in the 80 nm group.The gut microbiome analysis shows a severe imbalance of gut microbiota homeostasis in the 80 nm group.The analysis of liver transcriptomics and metabolomics shows that the liver lipid metabolism is disordered in the 80 nm group.In conclusion,this study confirms that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to induce intestinal and liver toxicity.All the above lay the foundation for further study on the pathological damage of MPs to other organisms.

Optimal V_(2)O_(3) extraction by sustainable vanadate electrolysis in molten salts

Recently,an environmentally friendly electrolysis process of soluble vanadates is proposed and successfully confirmed for V_(2)O_(3) extraction.In this paper,the solubilities of various vanadates(i.e.NaVO_(3),Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4))in NaCl molten salt are measured.The dependences of V_(2)O_(3) extraction on vanadate form,anode material and molten salt system are studied.A long-term electrolysis is carried out.The result indicates that the solubilities of all vanadates are high and meet electrolytic requirements.Compared to Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4),NaVO_(3) exhibits larger current efficiency and lower electricity consumption.By using SnO_(2) anode instead of graphite anode,the current efficiency of NaVO_(3) electrolysis can be increased to 58.1%and carbon pollution is avoided at 700℃.The extraction rate of V_(2)O_(3) reaches 81.3%after long-term electrolysis of 51 h.This work optimizes the electrochemical preparation process of V_(2)O_(3) from various vanadates and contributes to the improvement of current efficiency and extraction rate.
