Characterization of size-resolved aerosol hygroscopicity and liquid water content in Nanjing of the Yangtze River Delta

Aerosol hygroscopicity and liquid water content(ALWC)have important influences on the environmental and climate effect of *** this study,we measured the hygroscopic growth factors(GF)of particles with dry diameters of 40,80,150,and 200 nm during the wintertime in *** the GF-derived hygroscopicity parameter(κ_(gf))and ALWC increased with particle size,but displayed differing diurnal variations,withκ_(gf)peaking around the midday,while ALWC peaking in the early ***,ammonium and oxygenated organic aerosols(OOA)were found as the chemical components mostly strongly correlated with ALWC.A closure study suggests that during midday photo-oxidation and nighttime high ALWC periods,theκof organic aerosols(κ_(org))was underestimated when using previous ***,we re-constructed parameterizations forκ_(org)and the oxidation level of organics for these periods,which indicates a higher hygroscopicity of photochemically formed OOA than the aqueous OOA,yet both being much higher than the generally assumed OOA ***,in a typical high ALWC episode,concurrently increased ALWC,nitrate,OOA as well as aerosol surface area and mass concentrations were observed under elevated ambient *** strongly indicates a coupled effect that the hygroscopic secondary aerosols,in particular nitratewith strong hygroscopicity,led to large increase in ALWC,which in turn synergistically boosted nitrate and OOA formation by heterogeneous/aqueous *** interaction may represent an important mechanism contributing to enhanced formation of secondary aerosols and rapid growth of fine particulate matter under relatively high RH conditions.

Hard carbon (HC) has been considered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs).The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface (SEI) property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability,however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly ***,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree,which provides more Na+storage ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy/electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (FTIR/EIS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate *** a result,the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping content exhibits enhanced rate and cycling *** general,this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure,interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon,which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.

A photocatalytic process was developed for intermolecular reductive coupling of aliphatic ketones with alkynes/alkenes to furnish tertiary *** studies support that boron carbonitrides(BCN)promote the single electron reduction of unactivated aliphatic ketones to generate ketyl radicals with visible light irradiation,which then react with alkynes and alkenes to afford the allylic and aliphatic alcohols,*** heterogeneous photocatalytic system is compatible with diverse substrates including pharmaceutical-related molecules(43 examples)with reusability and scale-up experiments,verifying the complementary synthetic utility of this method to the homogeneous catalysts.

Background:Until January 18,2021,coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)has infected more than 93 million individuals and has caused a certain degree of *** pneumonia caused by common viruses such as respiratory syncytial virus,rhinovirus,human metapneumovirus,human bocavirus,and parainfluenza viruses have been more common in ***,the incidence of COVID-19 in children was significantly lower than that in *** purpose of this study was to describe the clinical manifestations,treatment and outcomes of COVID-19 in children compared with those of other sources of viral pneumonia diagnosed during the COVID-19 ***:Children with COVID-19 and viral pneumonia admitted to 20 hospitals were enrolled in this retrospective multi-center cohort study.A total of 64 children with COVID-19 were defined as the COVID-19 cohort,of which 40 children who developed pneumonia were defined as the COVID-19 pneumonia *** 284 children with pneumonia caused by other viruses were defined as the viral pneumonia *** epidemiologic,clinical,and laboratory findings were compared by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test,t-test,Mann-Whitney U test and Contingency table *** usage,immunotherapy,blood transfusion,and need for oxygen support were collected as the treatment ***,intensive care needs and symptomatic duration were collected as the outcome ***:Compared with the viral pneumonia cohort,children in the COVID-19 cohort were mostly exposed to family members confirmed to have COVID-19(53/64 vs.23/284),were of older median age(6.3 years vs.3.2 years),and had a higher proportion of ground-glass opacity(GGO)on computed tomography(18/40 vs.0/38,P<0.001).Children in the COVID-19 pneumonia cohort had a lower proportion of severe cases(1/40 vs.38/284,P=0.048),and lower cases with high fever(3/40 vs.167/284,P<0.001),requiring intensive care(1/40 vs.32/284,P<0.047)and with shorter symptomatic duration(median 5d vs.8d,P<0.001).The propor

BACKGROUND Breast cancer(BC)metastasis to the gastrointestinal tract is uncommon,colonic metastasis from BC(CMBC)is even *** SUMMARY This report describes a 44-year-old female patient with metastatic triple-negative BC in the ascending colon who underwent laparoscopic radical right *** patient had undergone left modified radical mastectomy only 15 months ago and stopped chemotherapy just 3 months *** diagnosis of CMBC was made based on the previous history of BC and positive results of several specific immunohistochemical markers(gross cystic disease fluid protein 15,mammaglobin,GATA-binding protein 3,and cytokeratin 7)for breast *** CMBC should be highly cautious in patients with a previous history of BC,especially triple-negative BC,and further examination to aid in diagnosis.

The effect of rolling schedules on the ridging resistance of ultra-thin ferritic stainless steel(FSS)430 foil was evaluated by studying the microstructure and *** results show that specimens processed with three-pass cold rolling under the reductions of 40%,40%and 31%,respectively,exhibit improved ridging resistance owing to the microstructural refinement and the texture structure optimization.A nearly 40%reduction of ridging height can be achieved using the proposed rolling schedule compared to the other two rolling *** addition,the effect of annealing temperature after cold rolling on the ridging resistance of FSS 430 foil is also found to be crucial,and an optimal annealing temperature of 900℃ is obtained for FSS 430 foil with high ridging ***,the improvement in the ridging resistance of FSS 430 foil can be attributed to the reduction in the fraction of{001}and{114}components by optimization of the rolling and annealing processes.

Covalent organic frameworks（COFs） are promising materials for mitigating polysulfide shuttling in lithium-sulfur（Li-S） batteries,but enhancing their ability to convert polysulfides across a wide temperature range remains a challenge,Herein,we introduce a redox-active COF（RaCOF） that functions as both a physical barrier and a kinetic enhancer to improve the temperature adaptability of Li-S batteries,The RaCOF constructed from redox-active anthraquinone units accelerates polysulfide conversion kinetics through reversible C=O/C-OLi transformations within a voltage range of 1,7 to 2.8 V（***+/Li）,optimizing sulfur redox reactions in ether-based *** conventional COFs,RaCOF provides bidentate trapping of polysulfides,increasing binding energy and facilitating more effective polysulfide ***-situ XRD and ToF-SIMS analyses confirm that RaCOF enhances polysulfide adsorption and promotes the transformation of lithium sulfide（Li2S）,leading to better sulfur cathode ***,RaCOF-modified Li-S batteries demonstrate low self-discharge（4.0% decay over a 7-day rest）,excellent wide-temperature performance（stable from-10 to+60℃）,and high-rate cycling stability（94% capacity retention over 500 cycles at 5.0 C）.This work offers valuable insights for designing COF structures aimed at achieving temperature-adaptive performance in rechargeable batteries.
