Several studies have confirmed that the health status of the paternal affects the health of the offspring,however,it remains unknown whether paternal exposure to pesticides affect the offspring health.Here,we used untargeted metabolomics and 16S rRNA sequencing technology,combined with tail suspension test and RT-qPCR to explore the effects of paternal exposure to nitenpyram on the neurotoxicity of offspring.Our results found that the paternal exposure to nitenpyram led to the offspring’s depressive-like behaviors,accompanied by the reduction of tryptophan content and the disorder of microbial abundance in the gut of the offspring.Further,we determined the expression of tryptophan metabolism-related genes tryptophanase(tnaA)and tryptophan hydroxylase 1(TpH1)in gut bacteria and colonic tissues.We found that tryptophan is metabolized to indoles rather than being absorbed into colonocytes,which coursed the reduce of tryptophan availability after nitenpyram exposure.In conclusion,our study deepens our understanding of the intergenerational toxic effects of pesticides.

Veterinary drugs are substances(including pharmaceutical feed additives)used to prevent,treat,and diagnose diseases or regulate the physiological functions of animals.Veterinary drug poisoning in humans is relatively rare both in China and the rest of the world.Here,we report a case of death from veterinary drug poisoning from avermectin-closantel.Avermectin-closantel is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug,which has high efficacy against a variety of trematodes and nematodes.

The glass-ceramics were prepared with the spodumene mineral as the main raw material,and the effects of ZrO_(2)replacing TiO_(2)on the samples were systematically investigated.The results show that the substitution of ZrO_(2)for TiO_(2)is not conductive to precipitate𝛽β-quartz solid solution phase,but can improve the transparency and flexural strength of glass-ceramics.And the glass-ceramic with the highest visible light transmittance(87%)and flexural strength(231.80 MPa)exhibits an ultra-low thermal expansion of-0.028×10^(-7)K^(-1)in the region of 30-700℃.

This paper develops a fast Laplace transform method for solving the complex PDE system arising from Parisian and Parasian option pricing.The value functions of the options are governed by a system of partial differential equations(PDEs)of two and three dimensions.Applying the Laplace transform to the PDEs with respect to the calendar time to maturity leads to a coupled system consisting of an ordinary differential equation(ODE)and a 2-dimensional partial differential equation(2d-PDE).The solution to this ODE is found analytically on a specific parabola contour that is used in the fast Laplace inversion,whereas the solution to the 2d-PDE is approximated by solving 1-dimensional integro-differential equations.The Laplace inversion is realized by the fast contour integral methods.Numerical results confirm that the Laplace transform methods have the exponential convergence rates and are more efficient than the implicit finite difference methods,Monte Carlo methods and moving window methods.

Oxidative stress leads to chondrocyte apoptosis and extracellular matrix(ECM)degradation,thus contributing to the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis(OA).Herein,curcumin with remarkable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities has been employed as an organic ligand to coordinate ferric ions for enhancing the water-solubility and biocompatibility of natural product curcumin.The obtained iron-curcumin-based coordination nanoparticles(Fe-Cur NPs)exhibit great water-solubility and efficient reactive oxygen/nitrogen species(ROS/RNS)scavenging ability.In vitro chondrocyte evaluation experiments indicated that the intracellular ROS/RNS induced by interleukin 1β(IL-1β)could be efficiently scavenged by these Fe-Cur NPs and oxidative-stressinduced cell death could be preserved as well.In addition,post intra-articular(i.a.)injection into OA rat joints,Fe-Cur NPs could greatly inhibit OA progression via activating the nuclear factor-erythroid 2 related factor-2(Nrf2)and inhibiting nod-like receptor protein-3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation in primary rat chondrocytes,as well as decrease the production of matrix degrading proteases and other inflammatory mediators.The efficient antioxidation and anti-inflammation performance of Fe-Cur NPs endow them as a promising nanoplatform for treatment of various inflammatory diseases,and more detailed researches will be conducted in the future.

Halocyclization of olefinic substrate enables the establishment of cyclic skeletons via intramolecular halonium-induced nucleophilic addition,which has been well utilized as a practical strategy for constructing cyclic skeletons in natural product synthesis.Recently,the renaissance and rapid evolution of organocatalysis have accelerated the development of catalytic asymmetric halocyclization.In this context,natural product synthesis powered by catalytic asymmetric halocyclization has also achieved considerable progress in recent years.In some cases,these newly developed protocols enable more concise synthetic routes for accessing enantioenriched natural products.To this end,this review summarizes the applications of catalytic asymmetric halocyclization in natural product synthesis.

Flowering time(FT) is a key maize domestication trait, variation in which allows maize to grow in a wide range of latitudes. Although previous studies have investigated the genetic control of FT-related traits per se, few studies of FT hybrid performance have been published. We characterized the genomic architecture associated with hybrid performance for FT in a hybrid panel by testcrossing Chang 7–2 with 328Ye478 × Qi319 recombinant inbred lines(RILs). We identified 11 quantitative trait loci(QTL) for hybrid performance in FT-related traits, including a major QTL qFH10 that controls hybrid performance and heterosis in a summer maize-growing region. However, this locus acts in regulating FT traits per se only in a spring maize-growing region. We validated ZmCCT10 as a candidate gene for qFH10 and found that differences between hybrids and their parental lines in DNA methylation in the differentially methylated region(DMR, –700 to –1520) of the ZmCCT10 promoter affected gene expression pattern and thereby FT in the summer maize-growing region.

This paper establishes a lattice Boltzmann method （LBM） with two amending functions for solving partial differential equations （PDEs） arising in Asian and lookback options pricing. The time evolution of stock prices can be regarded as the movement of randomizing particles in different directions, and the discrete scheme of LBM can be interpreted as the binomial models. With the Chapman-Enskog multi-scale expansion, the PDEs are recovered correctly from the continuous Boltzmann equation and the computational complexity is O（N）, where N is the number of space nodes. Compared to the traditional LBM, the coefficients of equilibrium distribution and amending functions are taken as polynomials instead of constants. The stability of LBM is studied via numerical examples and numerical comparisons show that the LBM is as accurate as the existing numerical methods for pricing the exotic options and takes much less CPU time.

This paper studies the convergence rates of a moving mesh implicit finite difference method with interpolation for partial differential equations （PDEs） with moving boundary arising in Asian option pricing. The moving mesh scheme is based on Rnnacher timestepping approach whose idea is running the implicit Euler schemes in the initial few steps and continuing with Crank-Nicolson schemes. With graded meshes for time direction and moving meshes for space direction, the fully discretized scheme is constructed using quadratic interpolation between two consecutive time level for the PDEs with moving boundary. The second-order convergence rates in both time and space are proved and numerical examples are carried out to confirm the theoretical results.

The increased global incidence of chronic metabolic diseases,a vital threat to human health and a burden on our healthcare systems,includes a series of clinical metabolic syndromes such as obesity,diabetes,hypertension,and dyslipidemia.One of the well-known probiotic microorganisms,Lactiplantibacillus plantarum plays an important role in promoting human health,including inhibiting the occurrence and development of a variety of chronic metabolic diseases.The present study provides an overview of the preventive and therapeutic effects of L.plantarum on diabetes,obesity,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,kidney stone disease,and cardiovascular diseases in animal models and human clinical trials.Ingesting L.plantarum demonstrated its ability to reduce inflammatory and oxidative stress levels by regulating the production of cytokines and short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs),the activity of antioxidant enzymes,and the balance of intestinal microbial communities to alleviate the symptoms of chronic metabolic diseases.Furthermore,updated applications and technologies of L.plantarum in food and biopharmaceutical industries are also discussed.Understanding the characteristics and functions of L.plantarum will guide the development of related probiotic products and explore the modulatory benefit of L.plantarum supplementations on the prevention and treatment of multiple chronic metabolic diseases.
