Effect of furan π-bridge on the photovoltaic performance of D-A copolymers based on bi(alkylthio-thienyl)benzodithiophene and fluorobenzotriazole

The medium band gap donor-acceptor （D-A） copolymer J61 based on bi（alkylthio-thienyl）benzodithiophene as donor unit and fluorobenzotriazole as acceptor unit and thiophene as n-bridge has demonstrated excellent photovoltaic performance as donor material in nonfullerene polymer solar cells （PSCs） with narrow bandgap n-type organic semiconductor ITIC as acceptor. For studying the effect of n-bridges on the photovoltaic performance of the D-A copolymers, here we synthesized a new D-A copolymer J61-F based on the same donor and acceptor units as J61 but with furan n-bridges instead of thiophene. J61-F possesses a deeper the highest occupied molecular orbital （HOMO） level at -5.45 eV in comparison with that （-5.32 eV） of J61. The non-fullerene PSCs based on J61-F：ITIC exhibited a maximum power conversion efficiency （PCE） of 8.24% with a higher open-circuit voltage （Voc） of 0.95 V, which is benefitted from the lower-lying HOMO energy level of J61-F donor material. The results indicate that main chain engineering by changing n-bridges is another effective way to tune the electronic energy levels of the conjugated D-A copolymers for the application as donor materials in non-fullerene PSCs.

In the present research, high chromium cast irons(HCCIs) were prepared using the lost foam casting(LFC) process. To improve the wear resistance of the high chromium cast irons(HCCIs), mechanical vibration was employed during the solidification of the HCCIs. The effects of vibration frequency on the microstructure and performance of the HCCIs under as-cast, as-quenched and as-tempered conditions were investigated. The results indicated that the microstructures of the LFC-produced HCCIs were refined due to the introduction of mechanical vibration, and the hardness was improved compared to that of the alloy without vibration. However, only a slight improvement in hardness was found in spite of the increase of vibration frequency. In contrast, the impact toughness of the as-tempered HCCIs increased with an increase in the vibration frequency. In addition, the wear resistance of the HCCIs was improved as a result of the introduction of vibration and increased with an increase in the vibration frequency.

A new benzodithiophene （BDT）-alt-fluorobenzotriazole （FBTA） D-A copolymer J40 was designed and synthesized by introducing 2-octyldodecyloxy side chains on its BDT units, for expanding the family of the BDT- alt-FBTA-based copolymers and investigating the side chain effect on the photovoltaic performance of the polymer in non-fullerene polymer solar cells （PSCs）. J40 exhibits complementary absorption spectra and matched electronic energy levels with the n-type organic semiconductor （n-OS）（3,9-bis（2-methylene-（3-（1,1-dicyanomethylene）-indanone））-5,5,11,11-tetrakis（4-hexylphenyl）-dithieno[2,3-d：2＇,3＇-d＇]-s- indaceno[1,2-b：5,6-b＇]dithiophene）（ITIC） acceptor, and was used as polymer donor in the non-fullerene PSCs with ITIC as acceptor. The power conversion efficiency （PCE） of the PSCs based on J40：ITIC （1：1, w/w） with thermal annealing at 120 ~C for l0 min reached 6.48% with a higher open-circuit voltage （Voc） of 0.89 V. The high Voc of the PSCs is benefitted from the lower-lying highest occupied molecular orbital （HOMO） energy level of J40. Although the photovoltaic performance of the polymer J40 with alkoxy side chain is lower than that of J60 and J61 with alkylthio-thienyl conjugated side chains, the PCE of 6.48% for the J40-based device is still a relatively higher photovoltaic efficiency in the non-fullerene PSCs reported so far. The results indicate that the family of the BDT-alt-FBTA-based D-A copolymers are high performance polymer donor materials for non-fullerene PSCs and the side chain engineering plays an important role in the design of high performance polymer donors in the non-fullerene PSCs.

A number of naphthalene derivatives containing adamantanamine binding moiety and an （CH2）. （n = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6） spacer were prepared as electron donor. A supramolecular assembly was fabricated by the inclusion complexation of the donor substrates with the host molecules, mono-6-O-p-nitrobenzoyl-β-cyclodextrin （p-NBCD） and mono-6-O-m-nitrobenzoyl-β-cyclodextrin （m-NBCD）, in water. The fluorescence quenching in these systems was studied and detailed Stern-Volmer constants were measured. It revealed that an efficient photoinduced electron transfers （PET） between the naphthalene donors and the cyclodextrin acceptors occurred.

Herein,we fabricated all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs)based on a fluorinated wide-bandgap p-type conjugated polymer PM6 as the donor,and a narrow bandgap n-type conjugated polymer PZ1 as the *** addition to the complementary absorption and matching energy levels,the optimized blend films possess high cystallinity,predominantly face-on stacking,and a suitable phase separated *** this active layer,the devices exhibited a high Vocof 0.96 V,a superior Jscof 17.1 mA cm^-2,a fine fill factor(FF)of 68.2%,and thus an excellent power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 11.2%,which is the highest value reported to date for single-junction ***,the devices showed good storage *** 80 d of storage in the N2-filled glovebox,the PCE still remained over 90%of the original ***-area devices(1.1 cm^2)also demonstrated an outstanding performance with a PCE of 9.2%,among the highest values for the reported large-area *** results indicate that the PM6:PZ1 blend is a promising candidate for scale-up production of large area high-performance all-PSCs.

We proposed a scheme of fiber Bragg grating （FBG） sensor interrogation system based on all fiber Mach-Zehnder Interferometer （MZI） edge filter and tunable-FBG. The equal power signals from FBG sensor and tunable FBG are coupled into port 1 and port 2 of MZI respectively. The experimental results show that the interrogation precision of the proposed system is 0.02 nm in a range of I nm. Furthermore, the precision can be improved by adjusting the two interference arms of the filter.
