Correlation of PRPS1 and JAB1 expression in the bone marrow tissue of acute leukemia with the apoptosis and invasion of tumor cells

Objective:To study the correlation of PRPS1 and JAB1 expression in the bone marrow tissue of acute leukemia with the apoptosis and invasion of tumor ***:Patients who were diagnosed with acute leukemia by bone marrow aspiration biopsy in Edong medical group Huangshi central hospital between February 2015 and December 2017 were selected as the AL group of the research, and patients who received bone marrow aspiration biopsy and were without significant abnormality in Edong medical group Huangshi central hospital during the same period were selected as the control group of the research. RNA was extracted to determine the mRNA expression of PRPS1, JAB1, apoptosis genes and invasion genes, and protein was extracted to determine the protein expression of PRPS1 and ***:Both mRNA expression and protein expression of PRPS1 and JAB1 in bone marrow tissues of AL group were significantly higher than those of control group;AuroraA, Bcl-2,β-catenin, MMP2, MMP9, N-cadherin and Msi2 mRNA expression in bone marrow tissues of AL group were significantly higher than those of control group whereas Bax, C/EBP , RUNX3 and TIMP3 mRNA expression were significantly lower than those of control group, and the PRPS1 and JAB1 mRNA expression in bone marrow tissues of AL group were positively correlated with AuroraA, Bcl-2,β-catenin, MMP2, MMP9, N-cadherin and Msi2 mRNA expression, and negatively correlated with Bax, C/EBP , RUNX3 and TIMP3 mRNA ***:The high expression of PRPS1 and JAB1 in the bone marrow tissue of acute leukemia can inhibit cell apoptosis and promote cell invasion.

Inhibiting water evaporation of sandy soil by the soil particles modified with Japanese wax

This study was conducted to resolve the problems of water conservation of sandy soil in desertification areas. The surface of soil particles was modified by molecules of natural Japanese wax through some specially screened surfactant. The modified particles were then well sprayed onto the sand, which was placed in an artificial climate box with simulating desert environment, to form a soil film with effect of suppressing water and gas-permeability. Structure of soil film was analyzed by means of X-ray diftYaction （XRD） and infrared spectrometry （IR）. And its mechanism of water inhibition was illustrated with DSC and TG curves. Its influence on grass-planting was tested through the instruments of water detector. The results show that sorbitol anhydride stearate （ Span 80） could well disperse the Japanese wax and make it combine with the clay which is also dispersed. The pores among soil particles grew smaller and turned from hydrophilic into hydrophobic, in which way resistance to water penetrating through the film was increased. Experimental grass grows normally on sandy soil with the soil film in the artificial desert climate box, indicating that the soil particles modified with Japanese wax is an effective method to inhibit water evaporation.

Improving the accuracy and consistency of clinical target volume delineation for rectal cancer by an education program

Consolidation chemotherapy with capecitabine after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in high-risk patients with locally advanced rectal cancer:Propensity score study

BACKGROUND The effects of consolidation chemotherapy(CC) in neoadjuvant therapy in locally advanced rectal cancer(LARC) have been explored. However, the optimal neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(NCRT) and surgery interval, regimen, and cycles of chemotherapy remains *** To evaluate the effects of one to two cycles of CC with capecitabine on high-risk patients with LARC without extending NCRT and surgery *** We retrospectively evaluated high-risk patients with LARC, who were defined as having at least one of the following factors by magnetic resonance imaging: depth of invasion beyond the muscularis propria of more than 5 mm(c T3c-c T3d), T4, meso-rectal fascia or extramural vascular invasion positive, and treatment date between January 2015 and July 2019 in our center. Patients were divided into the CC and non-CC group according to whether they received CC(capecitabine 1000 mg/m^(2) twice daily from days 1 to 14 every 21 d) after NCRT. Propensity score matching(PSM) and inverse probability of treatment weight(IPTW) were used to balance the differences between the two groups. The main outcome was the complete response(CR) *** A total of 265 patients were enrolled: 136 patients in the CC group and 129 patients in the non-CC group. The median interval was 70 d(range, 37-168). The CR rate was 24.3% and 16.3%(P = 0.107) in the CC and non-CC groups’ original samples, respectively. After PSM and IPTW, the CR rate in the CC group was higher than that in non-CC group(27.6% vs 16.2%, P = 0.045;25.9% vs 16.3%, P = 0.045). The median follow-up was 39.8 mo(range, 2.9-74.8), and there were no differences in 3-year non-regrowth disease-free survival nor overall survival in the original samples(73.2% vs 71.9%, P = 0.913;92.3% vs 86.7%, P = 0.294), PSM(73.2% vs 73.5%, P = 0.865;92.5% vs 89.3%, P = 0.612), and IPTW(73.8% vs 72.1%, P = 0.913;92.4% vs 87.4%, P = 0.294). The present study was designed to examine the therapeutic effects of Botulinum neurotoxin A(BoNT/A)on depression-like behaviors in mice and to explore the potential *** results revealed that a single facial injection of BoNT/A induced a rapid and prolonged improvement of depression-like behaviors in naive and space-restriction-stressed(SRS)mice,reflected by a decreased duration of immobility in behavioral despair ***/A significantly increased the 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)levels in several brain regions,including the hippocampus and hypothalamus,in SRS ***/A increased the expression of the N-methyl-Daspartate receptor subunits NR1 and NR2 B in the hippocampus,which were significantly decreased in SRS ***,BoNT/A significantly increased the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in the hippocampus,hypothalamus,prefrontal cortex,and amygdala,which were decreased in SRS ***,BoNT/A transiently increased the levels of phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase(p-ERK)and cAMPresponse element binding protein(p-CREB),which were suppressed in the hippocampus of SRS ***,these results demonstrated that BoNT/A treatment has antidepressant-like activity in mice,and this is associated with increased 5-HT levels and the activation of BDNF/ERK/CREB pathways in the hippocampus,supporting further investigation of BoNT/A therapy in depression.

Intraductal ultrasonography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiography in diagnosis of extrahepatic bile duct stones: a comparative study

BACKGROUND: Intraductal ultrasonography (IDUS) is highly accurate in detection of extrahepatic bile duct stones. This study was to compare the accuracy of IDUS and endo- scopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC) in the diagnosis of extrahepatic bile duct stones. METHODS: Thirty patients suspected of extrahepatic bile duct stones on B ultrasonography, CT, or MRI were en- rolled for study. ERC was performed using a Fujinon duo- denoscope (ED-410XT, ED-410Xu), then IDUS was done by inserting a Fujinon microprobe (PL2220-15) through the endoscopic biopsy channel to detect the extrahepatic bile duct. Finally stones in the extrahepatic bile duct were detected and extracted by endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST). RESULTS: Among the 30 patients, 26 were diagnosed as having cholelithiasis accurately through ERC. In one pa- tient the stone detected by ERC was really floccule. Mis- diagnosis happened in 2 patients with extrahepatic bile duct stones. So the overall accuracy and sensitivity of ERC in the diagnosis of extrahepatic bile duct stones were 86.7% (26/30) and 92.9% (26/28) respectively. In contrast, IDUS showed the results of diagnosis were in consistent with those of EST stone extraction. Its accuracy and sensi- tivity in the diagnosis of extrahepatic bile duct stones were 100% (30/30) and 100% (28/28) respectively. CONCLUSION: IDUS which is superior to ERC in diagno- sing extrahepatic bile duct stones can avoid the visual error of ERC.

The durability of wear-resistant tetrahedral amorphous carbon（ta-C） coatings is intimately linked to their thickness and the concentration of *** enhance the lifespan of the coatings,we have prepared a multilayer coating consisting of alternating layers of Ti and ta-C,denoted as（Ti/ta-C）_n,using arc ion plating.A multi-layer structure in conjunction with stage cooling is employed to enhance the thickness and promote *** results indicate that the ID/IGvalue,representing the ratio of the intensity of the D peak to that of the G peak in Raman spectroscopy,decreases from 0.85 when no stage cooling is applied to 0.35 when stage cooling is employed,suggesting an enhancement in the fraction of sp3bonds within the *** obtained（Ti/ta-C）_n multilayer coating without peeling off has a maximum thickness of 1.14 μm,which is almost double that of the ta-C coating single layer *** the same time,the coating has a low coefficient of friction,down to 0.069,and maintains excellent friction properties with a wear rate of 3.4×10-6mm3·N-1·*** results conclusively show that the preparation technology can enhance both thickness and sp3bonding in ta-C coatings,significantly expanding their utility across tools,molds,and precision engineering components.

By employing scanning probe microscopy,conductive path and local oxygen-vacancy dynamics have been investigated in crosshatched La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3) thin films grown onto flat and vicinal LaAlO_(3)(001)single crystal *** with prior studies,the crosshatch topography was observed first by dynamical force microscopy as the epi-stain started to release with increasing film ***,by using conductive atomic force microscopy(CAFM),conductive crosshatch and dots(locally aligned or random)were unravelled,however,not all of which necessarily coincided with that shown in the in situ atomic force ***,the current-voltage responses were probed by CAFM,revealing the occurrence of threshold and/or memristive *** results demonstrate that the resistive switching relies on the evolution of the local profile and concentration of oxygen vacancies,which,in the crosshatched films,are modulated by both the misfit and threading dislocations.
