Background The effective orifice area(EOA)is utilized to characterize the hemodynamic performance of the transcatheter heart valve(THV).However,there is no consensus on EOA measurement of self-expanding *** aimed to compare two echocardiographic methods for EOA measurement following transcatheter self-expanding aortic valve *** EOA was calculated according to the continuity *** methods were *** Method 1 and Method 2,the left ventricular outflow tract diameter(LVOTd)was measured at the entry of the prosthesis(from trailing-to-leading edge)and proximal to the prosthetic valve leaflets(from trailing-toleading edge),*** velocity-time integral(VTI)of the LVOT(VTILVOT)was recorded by pulsed-wave Doppler(PW)from apical *** region of the PW sampling should match that of the LVOTd measurement with precise *** mean transvalvular pressure gradient(MG)and VTI of THV was measured by Continuous wave *** A total of 113 consecutive patients were *** mean age was 77.2±5.5 years,and 72 patients(63.7%)were ***1 with the use of Method 1 was larger than EOA2(1.56±0.39 cm2 vs.1.48±0.41 cm2,P=0.001).MG correlated better with the indexed EOA1(EOAI1)(r=-0.701,P<0.001)than EOAI2(r=-0.645,P<0.001).According to EOAI(EOAI≤0.65 cm2/m2,respectively),the proportion of sever prosthesis-patient mismatch with the use of EOA1 was lower than EOA2(12.4%vs.21.2%,P<0.05).Compared with EOA2,EOA1 had lower interobserver and intra-observer variability(intra:0.5%±17%vs.3.8%±22%,P<0.001;inter:1.0%±9%vs.3.5%±11%,P<0.001).Conclusions For transcatheter self-expanding valve EOA measurement,LVOTd should be measured in the entry of the prosthesis stent(from trailing-to-leading edge),and VTILVOT should match that of the LVOTd measurement with precise localization.

Development and validation of a score predicting mortality for older patients with mitral regurgitation

OBJECTIVE To develop and validate a user-friendly risk score for older mitral regurgitation(MR)patients,referred to as the Elder-MR *** The China Senile Valvular Heart Disease(China-DVD)Cohort Study functioned as the development cohort,while the China Valvular Heart Disease(China-VHD)Study was employed for external *** included patients aged 60 years and above receiving medical treatment for moderate or severe MR(2274 patients in the development cohort and 1929 patients in the validation cohort).Candidate predictors were chosen using Cox’s proportional hazards model and stepwise selection with Akaike’s information *** Eight predictors were identified:age≥75 years,body mass index<20 kg/m^(2),NYHA class Ⅲ/Ⅳ,secondary MR,anemia,estimated glomerular filtration rate<60 mL/min per 1.73 m^(2),albumin<35 g/L,and left ventricular ejection fraction<60%.The model displayed satisfactory performance in predicting one-year mortality in both the development cohort(C-statistic=0.73,95%CI:0.69-0.77,Brier score=0.06)and the validation cohort(C-statistic=0.73,95%CI:0.68-0.78,Brier score=0.06).The Elder-MR score ranges from 0 to 15 *** a one-year follow-up,each point increase in the Elder-MR score represents a 1.27-fold risk of death(HR=1.27,95%CI:1.21-1.34,P<0.001)in the development cohort and a 1.24-fold risk of death(HR=1.24,95%CI:1.17-1.30,P<0.001)in the validation *** to EuroSCORE II,the Elder-MR score demonstrated superior predictive accuracy for one-year mortality in the validation cohort(C-statistic=0.71 vs.0.70,net reclassification improvement=0.320,P<0.01;integrated discrimination improvement=0.029,P<0.01).CONCLUSIONS The Elder-MR score may serve as an effective risk stratification tool to assist clinical decision-making in older MR patients.

Impact of coal resource development on eco-environment and its restoration in west of China

West China has rich mineral resources, especially in coal resources with very good mining conditions. Coal resource development is the one of important tasks in the Chinese “West Development”. Thus, the impact of coal resources development on eco-environment and its restoration is worth studying. This study shows that there are many environmental problems such as land damage, coal wastes, damage of hydro-geological condition and pollution of water resource, airborne effluents (industrial exhausts and methane emission from underground), dust, waste, water. Land damage and land desertification are the most important environmental issue in west China. Therefore, the stress of environmental restoration should be desert presentation and disturbed-land reclamation. To control environmental damages and rehabilitate the eco-environment, environmental restoration techniques are also discussed.

Hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease via Nrf2

The pathophysiology of Huntington's disease involves high levels of the neurotoxin quinolinic acid. Quinolinic acid accumulation results in oxidative stress, which leads to neurotoxicity. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which quinolinic acid contributes to Huntington's disease pathology remain unknown. In this study, we established in vitro and in vivo models of Huntington's disease by administering quinolinic acid to the PC12 neuronal cell line and the striatum of mice, respectively. We observed a decrease in the levels of hydrogen sulfide in both PC12 cells and mouse serum, which was accompanied by down-regulation of cystathionine β-synthase, an enzyme responsible for hydrogen sulfide production. However, treatment with NaHS(a hydrogen sulfide donor) increased hydrogen sulfide levels in the neurons and in mouse serum, as well as cystathionine β-synthase expression in the neurons and the mouse striatum, while also improving oxidative imbalance and mitochondrial dysfunction in PC12 cells and the mouse striatum. These beneficial effects correlated with upregulation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 expression. Finally, treatment with the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2inhibitor ML385 reversed the beneficial impact of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on quinolinic acid-induced oxidative stress. Taken together, our findings show that hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease by activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2,suggesting that hydrogen sulfide is a novel neuroprotective drug candidate for treating patients with Huntington's disease.

＜正＞Embryogenesis of gymnosperm plant is a complex,dynamic and multistage *** this study,the Chinese fir seeds were analyzed at six stages spanning important developmental phases. The proteome profiles of seed samples were analyzed using 2-D difference gel electrophoresis （DIGE）.One hundred thirty-six protein spots differing in kinetics of appearance were subjected to LC-MS/MS and MALDI-TOE Mass spectrometry data were interpreted that identified 77 of them. Hierarchical cluster analysis of the 77 spots recognized three main developmental profiles. Functional annotation of the Chinese fir developing seed proteins revealed that PCD is a central process for seed development,which may be multiple programs to execute PCD process in Chinese fir *** were also identified involved in carbon metabolism,Met metabolism,energy production,protein storage,synthesis and stabilization,disease/defense,cytoskeleton protein and proteins related to embryo *** involved in carbon metabolism were higher expression at the early stages,which probably provide substrates for starch *** related to Met metabolism were accumulated at the later stages,which had key role in the building block for protein and polyamines and hormone ethylene and implicated seed development tending to mature. This study provides a reference map for seed development of Chinese fir and might serve as potential markers for specific stage of seed development.

Exponential networked synchronization of master-slave chaotic systems with timevarying communication topologies

The networked synchronization problem of a class of master-slave chaotic systems with time-varying communication topologies is investigated in this paper. Based on algebraic graph theory and matrix theory, a simple linear state feedback controller is designed to synchronize the master chaotic system and the slave chaotic systems with a time- varying communication topology connection. The exponential stability of the closed-loop networked synchronization error system is guaranteed by applying Lyapunov stability theory. The derived novel criteria are in the form of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）, which are easy to examine and tremendously reduce the computation burden from the feedback matrices. This paper provides an alternative networked secure communication scheme which can be extended conveniently. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed networked synchronization method.

Establishing a new testing protocol of the electrochemical stability window for electric double-layer capacitors

The electrochemical stability window(ESW) is crucial for determining the energy density of electric double-layer capacitors(EDLCs). However, current ESW testing protocols of EDLCs are strongly affected by artificial factors, thereby leading to unreliable result. To solve this problem, we first identify the key shortcomings of the traditional protocols by analyzing their test principles. Subsequently, taking an aqueous carbon-based EDLC as an example, we design a side reaction descriptor to represent the response difference in the charging capacitance to side reactions between the cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic chargedischarge methods. With the aid of this descriptor, we propose a new ESW testing protocol, which is not only able to completely avoid the adverse influence of subjective factors but also fully consider the operating condition limitations. The protocol can be extended from the single electrode to the full device. This work proposes a more rigorous definition of ESW and provides a reliable protocol for evaluating the ESW of EDLCs.

This paper discussed the effects of irrigation with well water on the salinity and pH of a weakly alkaline paddy soil in Fujin of Heilongjiang Province in the north-eastern part of *** has been found that after seven years the accumulation of total soluble salts did not occur and that the pH of 0～15 cm layer fell down from 7.92～8.30 to 6.76～7.45,and that the content of anion HCO - 3 and its proportion in the total soluble anions have fallen *** from paddy soil to upland restored the pH of soil,exchangeable sodium,ESR(exchangeable sodium ratio) to their original levels of upland fields respectively.

Channel pruning on frequency response

Network pruning has a significant role in reducing network parameters and accelerating the inference time of the network. Some existing methods prune the network based on the frequency of the data, and finally obtain a sub-network with high accuracy. However, according to our experimental analysis, different frequencies of information in the data contribute differently to the accuracy of the model, and using this information directly for pruning without making a selection will lead to incorrect results. We believe that pruning should retain the convolutional kernels in the network that process important information, while those kernels that process unimportant information should be removed. In this paper, we first investigate the meaning of each frequency band information in the spectrum and their contribution to the prediction accuracy of the network,and according to these results, we propose a new pruning method based on frequency response(PFR). Our PFR finds and removes the convolutional kernels in the network that specialize in processing unimportant information, resulting in a compact neural network model. PFR obtains significant experimental results on different datasets, for example, a 56.0% raduction of float points operations(FLOPs) on Res Net-50 and only 0.37% of Top-1 accuracy degradation on the Image Net dataset.

Niobates are promising all-climate Li^(+)-storage anode material due to their fast charge transport,large specific capacities,and resistance to electrolyte ***,their moderate unit-cellvolume expansion(generally 5%–10%)during Li^(+)storage causes unsatisfactory long-term ***,“zero-strain”NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are explored as a new anode material with comprehensively good electrochemical *** Li^(+)storage,the expansion of electrochemical inactive NiO_(6) octahedra almost fully offsets the shrinkage of active NbO_(6) octahedra through reversible O *** superior volume-accommodation capability of the NiO_(6) layers guarantees the“zero-strain”behavior of NiNb_(2)O_(6) in a broad temperature range(0.53%//0.51%//0.74%at 25//−10//60℃),leading to the excellent cyclability of the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers(92.8%//99.2%//91.1%capacity retention after 1000//2000//1000 cycles at 10C and 25//−10//60℃).This NiNb_(2)O_(6) material further exhibits a large reversible capacity(300//184//318 mAh g−1 at 0.1C and 25//−10//60℃)and outstanding rate performance(10 to 0.5C capacity percentage of 64.3%//50.0%//65.4%at 25//−10//60℃).Therefore,the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are especially suitable for large-capacity,fast-charging,long-life,and all-climate lithium-ion batteries.
