Effect of male HBV infection on the outcomes of IVF/ICSI cycles:a retrospective cohort study based on propensity score matching

This study aimed to investigate the effects of male hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection on male fertility,embryonic development,and in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(IVF/ICSI)*** performed a retrospective cohort study that included 3965 infertile couples who received fresh embryo transfer cycles for the first time at the Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital(Fuzhou,China)from January 2018 to January *** couples were categorized based on their HBV infection status into the HBV group(HBV-positive men and HBV-negative women)and the control group(HBV-negative couples).A 1:1 propensity score matching was performed with relatively balanced *** characteristics,semen parameters,laboratory outcomes,clinical outcomes,and obstetric and neonatal outcomes were compared between *** propensity score matching,821 couples were included in each *** groups had similar semen parameters and obstetric and neonatal *** HBV group showed a significantly lower live birth rate than the control group(P<0.05).The HBV group had a significantly higher abortion rate than the control group(P<0.05).The rates of high-quality embryos and blastocyst formation were significantly lower in the HBV group than those in the control group(both P<0.05).In conclusion,in couples who undergo IVF/ICSI,male HBV infection reduces the live birth rate and increases the risk of ***,the incidence of low birth weight in women with IVF/ICSI does not increase with male HBV infection.

This study aims to conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis of three different anesthesia strategies,namely chatting while under local anesthesia(Chat-LA),total intravenous anesthesia(TIVA),and general anesthesia with laryngeal mask airway(GA-LMA),employed in transperineal magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)/ultrasound(US)fusion prostate biopsy(TP-MUF-PB).A retrospective study was conducted involving 1202 patients who underwent TP-MUF-PB from June 2016 to April 2023 at The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University(Suzhou,China).Clinical data and outcomes,including total costs,complications,and quality-adjusted life years(QALYs),were *** sensitivity and subgroup analyses were also ***-LA was found to be the most cost-effective option,outperforming both TIVA and ***,subgroup analyses revealed that in younger patients(under 65 years old)and those with smaller prostate volumes(<40 ml),TIVA emerged as a more cost-effective *** Chat-LA may generally be the most cost-effective and safer anesthesia method for TP-MUF-PB,personalization of anesthesia strategies is crucial,considering specific patient demographics such as age and prostate volume.

Postoperative encapsulated hemoperitoneum in a patient with gastric stromal tumor treated by exposed endoscopic full-thickness resection: A case report

BACKGROUND Gastric stromal tumors,originating from mesenchymal tissues,are one of the most common tumors of the digestive *** stromal tumors originating from the muscularis propria,compared with conventional endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD),endoscopic full-thickness resection(EFTR)can remove deep lesions and digestive tract wall tumors ***,this technique has major limitations such as perforation,postoperative bleeding,and post-polypectomy ***,we report a case of postoperative serous surface bleeding which formed an encapsulated hemoperitoneum in a patient with gastric stromal tumor that was treated with exposed *** treatment options to address this complication are *** SUMMARY A 47-year-old male patient had a hemispherical protrusion found during gastric endoscopic ultrasonography,located at the upper gastric curvature adjacent to the stomach fundus,with a smooth surface mucosa and poor *** lesion was 19.3 mm×16.1 mm in size and originated from the fourth ultrasound *** tomography(CT)revealed no significant evidence of lymph node enlargement or distant *** conventional ESD technology for mucosal pre-resection,exposed EFTR was performed to resect the intact tumor in order to achieve a definitive histopathological *** on its morphology and immunohistochemical expression of CD117 and DOG-1,the lesion was proven to be consistent with a gastric stromal *** days after exposed EFTR,CT showed a large amount of encapsulated fluid and gas accumulation around the *** addition,gastroscopy suggested intracavitary bleeding and abdominal puncture drainage indicated serosal *** on these findings,the patient was diagnosed with serosal bleeding resulting in encapsulated abdominal hemorrhage after exposed EFTR for a gastric stromal *** patient received combined treatments,such as hemostasis under gastroscopy,gastrointestinal decompression,and abdominal

BACKGROUND Extragastric lesions are typically not misdiagnosed as gastric submucosal tumor(SMT).However,we encountered two rare cases where extrinsic lesions were misdiagnosed as gastric *** SUMMARY We describe two cases of gastric SMT-like protrusions initially misdiagnosed as gastric SMTs by the abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)and endoscopic ultrasound(EUS).Based on the CT and EUS findings,the patients underwent gastroscopy;however,no tumor was identified after incising the gastric *** surgical exploration revealed no gastric lesions in both patients,but a mass was found in the left triangular ligament of the *** patients underwent laparoscopic tumor resection,and the postoperative diagnosis was hepatic *** During EUS procedures,scanning across different layers and at varying degrees of gastric cavity distension,coupled with meticulous image analysis,has the potential to mitigate the likelihood of such misdiagnoses.

土壤中的锰元素对植物生长起着重要作用,土壤锰含量过高或者缺少都将对植物产生不良影响,因此快速监测土壤中的锰含量尤为重要。目前利用遥感技术监测土壤锰含量的相关研究主要集中在利用土壤光谱估算土壤锰含量,而对于植被常年覆盖的南方地区,难以从卫星影像中获取土壤光谱。因此,引入植被光谱,探索植被覆盖区域土壤锰元素的快速监测方法。首先从Landsat 8影像中提取11种植被光谱指标,并运用皮尔逊相关系数(Pearson correlation coefficient)结合方差膨胀因子(VIF)筛选出最佳植被光谱指标;在此基础上,利用偏最小二乘回归(PLSR)、多元逐步回归(MSR)和BP神经网络(BPNN)算法构建最佳植被光谱指标与土壤锰元素之间的光谱响应模型,分析比较三个模型的估算效果从而确定最佳反演模型;最后,基于最佳反演模型进行土壤锰含量空间制图。以重庆市南川区为例,研究结果表明:3个植被光谱指标(比值植被指数,归一化植被指数和可见光大气阻抗植被指数)被确定为土壤锰元素最佳的光谱响应指标;BPNN光谱响应模型(R^(2)为0.78,RMSE为334.24,RPD为2.13)为土壤锰含量最佳反演模型,其土壤锰含量的制图精度(R^(2)为0.69,RMSE为567.64,RPD为1.30)。表明通过植被光谱指标反演土壤锰含量可行,该研究为区域尺度的土壤锰含量监测开拓了新思路。

BACKGROUND Calculus bovis(CB),used in traditional Chinese medicine,exhibits anti-tumor effects in various cancer *** also constitutes an integral component of a compound formulation known as Pien Tze huang,which is indicated for the treatment of liver ***,its impact on the liver cancer tumor microenvironment,particularly on tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs),is not well *** To elucidate the anti-liver cancer effect of CB by inhibiting M2-TAM polarization via Wnt/β-catenin pathway *** This study identified the active components of CB using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS,evaluated its anti-neoplastic effects in a nude mouse model,and elucidated the underlying mechanisms via network pharmacology,transcriptomics,and molecular *** vitro assays were used to investigate the effects of CB-containing serum on HepG2 cells and M2-TAMs,and Wnt pathway modulation was validated by real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot *** This study identified 22 active components in CB,11 of which were detected in the *** investigations have demonstrated the ability of CB to effectively inhibit liver tumor *** integrated approach employing network pharmacology,transcriptomics,and molecular docking implicated the Wnt signaling pathway as a target of the antineoplastic activity of CB by suppressing M2-TAM *** vitro and in vivo experiments further confirmed that CB significantly hinders M2-TAM polarization and suppresses Wnt/β-catenin pathway *** inhibitory effect of CB on M2-TAMs was reversed when treated with the Wnt agonist SKL2001,confirming its pathway *** This study demonstrated that CB mediates inhibition of M2-TAM polarization through the Wnt/β-catenin pathway,contributing to the suppression of liver cancer growth.
