Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest *** text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to support the formulation of necessary action plans, OHAC advocates the adoption of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify the current gaps in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance capacity building for context-sensitive One Health *** By promoting broader engagement and connection of multidisciplinary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global platform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled practical experience and actionable policy advice, guided by strong ethical principles of One Health.

In our previous studies,we have shown that(D-Ser2)oxyntomodulin(Oxm),a glucagon-like peptide 1(GLP-1)receptor(GLP1R)/glucagon receptor(GCGR)dual agonist peptide,protects hippocampal neurons against Aβ1-42-induced cytotoxicity,and stabilizes the calcium homeostasis and mitochondrial membrane potential of hippocampal ***,we have demonstrated that(D-Ser2)Oxm improves cognitive decline and reduces the deposition of amyloid-beta in Alzheimer’s disease model ***,the protective mechanism remains *** this study,we showed that 2 weeks of intraperitoneal administration of(D-Ser2)Oxm ameliorated the working memory and fear memory impairments of 9-month-old 3×Tg Alzheimer’s disease model *** addition,electrophysiological data recorded by a wireless multichannel neural recording system implanted in the hippocampal CA1 region showed that(D-Ser2)Oxm increased the power of the theta *** addition,(D-Ser2)Oxm treatment greatly increased the expression level of synaptic-associated proteins SYP and PSD-95 and increased the number of dendritic spines in 3×Tg Alzheimer’s disease model *** findings suggest that(D-Ser2)Oxm improves the cognitive function of Alzheimer’s disease transgenic mice by recovering hippocampal synaptic function and theta rhythm.

A novel small-signal equivalent circuit model for GaN HEMTs incorporating a dual-field-plate

An accurate and novel small-signal equivalent circuit model for GaN high-electron-mobility transistors(HEMTs)is proposed,which considers a dual-field-plate(FP)made up of a gate-FP and a *** equivalent circuit of the overall model is composed of parasitic elements,intrinsic transistors,gate-FP,and source-FP *** equivalent circuit of the gate-FP is identical to that of the intrinsic *** order to simplify the complexity of the model,a series combination of a resistor and a capacitor is employed to represent the *** analytical extraction procedure of the model parameters is presented based on the proposed equivalent *** verification is carried out on a 4×250μm GaN HEMT device with a gate-FP and a source-FP in a 0.45μm *** with the classic model,the proposed novel small-signal model shows closer agreement with measured S-parameters in the range of 1.0 to 18.0 GHz.

Effect of Wave Nonlinearity on the Instantaneous Seabed Liquefaction

The nonlinear variation of wave is commonly seen in nearshore area,and the resulting seabed response and liquefaction are of high concern to coastal *** this study,an analytical formula considering the nonlinear wave skewness and asymmetry is adopted to provide wave pressure on the seabed *** liquefaction depth attenuation coefficient and width growth coefficient are defined to quantitatively characterize the nonlinear effect of wave on seabed *** on the 2D full dynamic model of wave-induced seabed response,a detailed parametric study is carried out in order to evaluate the influence of the nonlinear variation of wave loadings on seabed ***,new empirical prediction formulas are proposed to fast predict the maximum liquefaction under nonlinear *** indicate that(1)Due to the influence of wave nonlinearity,the vertical transmission of negative pore water pressure in the seabed is hindered,and therefore,the amplitude decreases significantly.(2)In general,with the increase of wave nonlinearity,the liquefaction depth of seabed decreases *** under asymmetric and skewed wave loading,the attenuation of maximum seabed liquefaction depth is the most significant among all the nonlinear wave ***,highly skewed wave can cause the liquefaction depth of seabed greater than that under linear wave.(3)The asymmetry of wave pressure leads to the increase of liquefaction width,whereas the influence of skewedness is not significant.(4)Compared with the nonlinear waveform,seabed liquefaction is more sensitive to the variation of nonlinear degree of wave loading.

Crust Cooling of Soft X-Ray Transients——the Uncertainties of Shallow Heating

Crust cooling of soft X-ray transients has been observed after outbursts,but an additional shallow heating during accretion in outburst is needed to explain the quiescent light ***,shallow heating is significantly different between sources and even within one source between different outbursts,and the source of shallow heat is as yet *** the open source code"dStar"which solves the fully general relativistic heat diffusion equation for the crust,we investigate the effect of magnitude and depth of shallow heating on crust cooling and find that some exceptional sources(Swift J174805.3-244637,MAXI J0556-332 during outburstⅡand GRO J1750-27)in which shallow heating may be inactive could be explained by a deeper shallow heating *** compare our results with those from previous works and find that the shallow heating is model *** addition,the effects of mass and radius of a neutron star on shallow heating are studied,and it is shown that the more compact the star,the less shallow heating will be needed to fit the crust cooling light curves.

Vascular remodeling and angiogenesis are two key processes in the maintenance of vascular homeostasis and involved in a wide array of vascular pathologies. Following these processes, extracellular matrix (ECM) provides the mechanical foundation for vascular walls. Lysyl oxidase (LOX), the key matrix-modifying enzyme, has been demonstrated to significantly affect structural abnormality and dysfunction in the blood vessels. The role of LOX in vascular remodeling and angiogenesis has always been the subject in the current medical research. Therefore, we presently make a summarization of the biosynthesis of LOX and the mechanisms involved in vascular remodeling and angiogenesis, as well as the role of LOX in diseases associated with vascular abnormalities and the therapeutic potential via targeting LOX. In particular, we give a proposal that LOX likely reshapes matrisome-associated genes expressions in the regulation of vascular remodeling and angiogenesis, which serves as a mechanistic insight into the critical role of LOX in these two aspects. Additionally, LOX has also dual effects on the vascular dysfunction, namely, inhibition of LOX for improving hypertension, restenosis and malignant tumor while activation of LOX for curing arterial aneurysm and dissection. LOX-targeted therapy may provide a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of various vascular pathologies associated with vascular remodeling and angiogenesis.

Agomelatine is a selective agonist of melatonin receptor 1A/melatonin receptor 1B(MT/MT)and antagonist of 5-hydroxytryptamine 2C *** is used clinically to treat major depressive episodes in *** pro-chronobiological activity of agomelatine reconstructs sleep-wake rhythms and normalizes circadian disturbances via its agonistic effect of melatonin receptor 1A/melatonin receptor 1B,which work simultaneously to counteract depression and anxiety ***,by antagonizing neocortical postsynaptic 5-hydroxytryptamine 2C receptors,agomelatine enhances the release of dopamine and noradrenaline in the prefrontal cortex,increases the activity of dopamine and noradrenaline,and thereby reduces depression and anxiety *** combination of these two effects means that agomelatine exhibits a unique pharmacological role in the treatment of depression,anxiety,and disturbance of the circadian *** and sleep are closely related to memory and cognitive *** disorder is defined as any forms of memory abnormality,which is typically evident in a broad range of neurodegenerative diseases,including Alzheimer’s *** impairment and cognitive impairment are common symptoms of neurodegenerative and psychiatric ***,whether agomelatine can improve memory and cognitive behaviors if used for alleviating depression and circadian-rhythm sleep disorders has become a research“hotspot”.This review presents the latest findings on the effects of agomelatine in the treatment of psychologic and circadian-rhythm sleep disorders in clinical trials and animal *** review evaluates recent studies on treatment of memory impairment and cognitive impairment in neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases.

Effect of electrical parameters and slag system on macrostructure of electroslag ingot

To investigate the influence of electric parameters and slag system on the solidification quality of electroslag ingot during electroslag remelting,different power supply modes,current strengths and remelting slag systems were used to conduct electroslag remelting experiments on 304L austenitic stainless steel,and the macrostructure of electroslag ingots was *** results indicate that the depth of the metal pool decreases with the reduction of remelting frequency in the low frequency power supply *** effects of different power supply modes,such as low-frequency,direct current straight polarity(DCSP),and direct current reverse polarity(DCRP),on reducing the depth of the metal pool increase in that *** reducing the remelting current strength in the same power supply mode,the depth of metal pool is *** compared to the binary slag system of 70%CaF2+30%Al2O3,the ternary slag system of 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO is more effective in reducing the depth of the metal pool during *** the 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO ternary slag system results in a shallower and flatter metal pool,with columnar crystal growth occurring closer to the axial *** effect is observed for both low frequency and direct current(DC)power supply modes.
