Structure and function of the fecal-associated microbiome in qi stagnation constitution

Performance of elastic ball screen-cleaning device based on DEM-MBD coupling simulation

In seed breeding, the vibrating screen used for pre-sowing grading parental seeds often has the problem of poor self-purification rate. Using elastic balls to clean the plugging seeds and ensure the self-purification of the screen is a viable technical solution. To clarify and improve the operating performance of the elastic ball particles, a DEM-MBD coupling simulation model of the elastic ball screen-cleaning device was established in this study, and a numerical simulation analysis of the complex motion process was carried out. The mechanism of action of the elastic ball was explained more completely from the aspects of excitation force and energy transfer. Through the Plackett-Burman test, it was determined that the vibration frequency has the most significant effect on the excitation force. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed on each factor and the mathematical relationship equation. It was found that when the maximum excitation force was greater than 7 N and the average excitation force was greater than 2 N, the self-purification rate was greater than 95%. The self-purification rate was then increased to 99.81% by variable frequency tests. The variable frequency achieved better self-purification effect.

Low Temperature Molten Salt Synthesis of Perovskite-type ACeO3（A=Sr, Ba） in Eutectic NaCl-KCl

A molten salt method was developed for the synthesis of ACeO3（A=Sr, Ba） with perovskite structure at 750 ℃（SrCeO3） and 850 ℃（BaCeO3） in the eutectic NaCl-KCl. The synthetic temperature was much lower than that of the conventional method（generally〉1000 ℃）. The structure and morphology of the product were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction（XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM） and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）. The results show that the synthesized octahedral SrCeO3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with the unit cell parameters of a=0.85855 nm, b=0.61523 nm, c=0.60059 nm, and the synthesized cuboid BaCeO3 crystallizes in the cubic system with the unit cell parameter of a=0.43962 nm. The result of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） analysis indicates that both Ce4＋ and Ce3＋ exist in the two structures, and the Ce4＋/Ce3＋ peak area ratios for SrCeO3 and BaCeO3 are 1.93 and 2.12, respectively. Meanwhile, the adsorbed/lattice oxygen ratios（1.87 for SrCeO3 and 3.04 for BaCeO3） indicate the existence of a lot of oxygen vacancies in the structures of SrCeO3 and BaCeO3, which indicates a far-reaching significance to study the corresponding physicochemistry performance.

Study of titanium nitride for low-e coating application

The paper reports our novel work on chemical vapor deposition coating of titanium nitride (TiN) thin film on glass for energy saving. TiN films were deposited on glass substrates by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) using titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) and ammonia (NH3) as precur-sors. As a result, TiN films with a thickness of 500 nm were obtained. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), four-point probe method and optical spectroscopy were respectively employed to study the crystallization, microstructure, surface mor-phology, electrical and optical properties of the coated TiN films. The deposited TiN films are of NaCl structure with a preferred (200) orientation. The particles in the film are uniform. The reflectivity of the TiN coating in the near-infrared (NIR) band can reach over 40%, the visible transmittance is approxi-mately 60%, and the visible reflectivity is lower than 10%. The sheet electrical resistance is 34.5Ω. According to Drude theory, the lower sheet resistance of 34.5 Ω gives a high reflectivity of 71.5% around middle-far infrared band. The coated films exhibit good energy-saving performance.

Design of 20 W fiber-coupled green laser diode by Zemax

We represent a design of a 20 W, fiber-coupled diode laser module based on 26 single emitters at 520 nm. The module can produce more than 20 W output power from a standard fiber with core diameter of 400 Hm and numerical aperture （NA） of 0.22. To achieve a 20 W laser beam, the spatial beam combination and polarization beam combination by polarization beam splitter are used to combine output of 26 single emitters into a single beam, and then an aspheric lens is used to couple the combined beam into an optical fiber. The simulation shows that the total coupling efficiency is more than 95%.

Removal of elemental mercury by iodine-modified rice husk ash sorbents

Iodine-modified calcium-based rice husk ash sorbents （I2/CaO/RHA） were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and N2 isotherm adsorption/desorption. Adsorption experiments of vapor-phase elemental mercury （Hg^0） were performed in a laboratory-scale fixed-bed reactor. I2/CaO/RHA performances on Hg^0 adsorption were compared with those of modified Cabased fly ash sorbents （I2/CaO/FA） and modified fly ash sorbents （I2/FA）. Effects of oxidant loading, supports, pore size distribution, iodine impregnation modes, and temperature were investigated as well to understand the mechanism in capturing Hg^0. The modified sorbents exhibited reasonable efficiency for Hg^0 removal under simulated flue gas. The surface area, pore size distribution, and iodine impregnation modes of the sorbents did not produce a strong effect on Hg^0 capture efficiency, while fair correlation was observed between Hg^0 uptake capacity and iodine concentration. Therefore, the content of 12 impregnated on the sorbents was identified as the most important factor influencing the capacity of these sorbents for Hg^0 uptake. Increasing temperature in the range of 80-140℃ caused a rise in Hg^0 removal. A reaction mechanism that may explain the experimental results was presumed based on the characterizations and adsorption study.

A Rapid and Simple Method for Quantitative Aziridination from Aminobrominated Derivatives of Olefins under Solvent-free and Mild Conditions

The urea-catalyzed aziridination of 1,2-vicinal haloamines derived from aminohalogenation of olefins has been developed. This rapid and simple method was carried out by simply grinding the solid mixture of the substrate, K2CO3 and catalytic amount of urea at room temperature in air. The reaction provides a protocol for quantitative preparation of aziridines in a large scope of aminohalogenated derivatives of olefins including α,β-unsaturated ketones, α,β-unsaturated esters and simple olefins. The possible mechanism involving an H-bond promoting deprotonation has been suggested for this reaction.
