Oscillation Characteristics of Molten Metal Free Surface Under Compound Magnetic Field

The free surface waves of a molten low-melting point Sn-32%Pb-52%Bi alloy under the imposition of an AC and a static magnetic field were visualized and recorded by use of a laser displacement sensor and a high speed video camera. The Fourier analysis method was used to analyze the oscillation characteristics. The results show that at the center of the free surface,the azimuthal and radial oscillation mode can be found simultaneously owing to AC magnetic field. With increasing coil current intensity,the amplitude and the main frequencies of the oscillations increase,and the azimuthal fluctuation at the center of the free surface is also enhanced. The fluctuation characteristics are closely related to the turbulent flow induced by the alternating electromagnetic force. A series of regular traveling waves can be observed on free surface,and the main frequencies of oscillations at three-phase points decrease owing to superposing AC and static magnetic field. The static magnetic field can remarkably control the unstable swinging behavior of free surface. With increasing static magnetic flux density,the amplitude of oscillations at the center of free surface decreases firstly,and then increases,but the fluctuation amplitude at the triple-phase point always reduces and keeps within 1 mm,and the azimuthal waves at the center of free surface are weakened. Especially at 1.44 T,the radial waves are dominant. The static magnetic flux density should be controlled in an appropriate range to obtain more stable free surface. With compound magnetic field,even if the static magnetic flux density is above 1.0 T,the free surface still vibrates with lower amplitude and dominant frequency.

In this paper, a whole field solution to finite internally cracked plates is derived by complex variable method, where the equations of equilibrium and compatibility, the single value condition of displacements and the traction-free condition on crack surfaces are satisfied exactly. The stress intensity factors of finite plates with central crack or eccentric crack or cracks emanating from a hole are calculated by using minimum potential energy principle to treat the boundary conditions excluding those on crack surfaces. As an application of the method to engineering problems, the computation about a finite rivet joint stiffened plate with cracks emanating from a hole is also performed. The numerical results show that the method presented in this paper gives rapid convergence and is much time-saving in computations.

Metal-organic framework(MOF)and its derivatives have low-cost,controllable structure,and good catalytic performance,which are often used in the electrochemical *** this work,SnO_(2)in situ modified graphite felt(SnO_(2)/GF)is prepared by hydrothermal method then simple thermal treatment using Sn-based MOF(Sn-MOF)as ***_(2)is uniformly and firmly distributed on the GF surface rather than the common agglomeration and poor bonding of metal oxides on carbon-based electrodes,providing stable active centers for the VO^(2+)/VO_(2)^(+)and V^(2+)/V^(3+)redox ***250 mA·cm^(-2),the energy efficiency of the battery with SnO_(2)/GF remains at 63.2%,while the blank one has *** former battery,at 100 mA·cm^(-2),has higher energy efficiency and good cycle stability(over 200 cycles).The battery performance of this study is better than that of most previous report in metal oxide-related *** work obtains high-performance composite electrode by simple treatment of MOF,which provides a reference for the application of MOF in vanadium redox flow battery.

Salinity was considered to have effects on the characteristics,performance microbial communities of aerobic granular *** study investigated granulation process with gradual increase of salt under different *** identical sequencing batch reactors were operated,while the influent of Ra and Rb was subjected to stepwise increments of NaCl concentrations(0-4 g/L and 0-10 g/L).The presence of filamentous bacteria may contribute to granules formed under lower salinity conditions,potentially leading to granules *** removal efficiency achieved in both reactors although therewas a small accumulation of nitrite in Rb at later *** removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand(COD),total nitrogen(TN),and total phosphorus(TP)in Ra were 95.31%,93.70%and 88.66%,while the corresponding removal efficiencies in Rb were 94.19%,89.79%and 80.74%.Salinity stimulated extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)secretion and enriched EPS producing bacteria to help maintain the integrity and stability of the aerobic *** nitrifying bacteria were responsible for NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(2)^(-)-N oxidation of salinity systems and large number of denitrifying bacteria were detected,which ensure the high removal efficiency of TN in the systems.

The pursuit of precisely recording and localizing neural activities in brain cortical regions drives the development of advanced electrocorticography (ECoG) devices. Remarkable progress has led to the emergence of micro-ECoG (µECoG) devices with sub-millimeter resolutions. This review presents the current research status, development directions, potential innovations and applications of high-density, high-throughput µECoG devices. First, we summarize the challenges associated with accurately recording single or multiple neurons using existing µECoG devices, including passive multielectrode and active transistor arrays. Second, we focus on cutting-edge advancements in passive µECoG devices by discussing the design principles and fabrication strategies to optimize three key parameters: impedance, mechanical flexibility, and biocompatibility. Furthermore, recent findings highlight the need for further research and development in active transistor arrays, including silicon, metal oxide, and solution-gated transistors. These active transistor arrays have the potential to unlock the capabilities of high-density, high-throughput µECoG devices and overcome the limitations of passive multielectrode arrays. The review explores the potential innovations and applications of µECoG devices, showcasing their effectiveness for both brain science research and clinical applications. © 2024
