The reaction of NiCl2 and 3-hydrazine-4-amino-1,2,4-triazole （Hatr） in the mixed solvent of EtOH and H2O yielded a dimer compound （[Ni2（Hatr）2（H2O）2（EtOH）2Cl2]ClzoEtOH） with water and EtOH molecules coordinated to nickle ions. It crystallized in trigonal space group R-3, a=b=29.67（1） A, c=8.95（7） A, β= 120（1）°, as determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Then, they were fully characterized by the IR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, thermogravimetry （TG）, and elemental analysis.

The theoretical crystal-morphology of zinc tricarbohydrazide perchlorate (ZnCP) was studied using the morphology simulation software. The growth trends and surface characteristics were calculated using the Bravais-Friedel-Donnay- Harker (BFDH), Growth Morphology, and Equilibrium Morphology methods; these provide theoretical guidance for the choice of crystal-control reagents. On the basis of the simulations, experiments were carried out to study the effects of five different crystal-control reagents, including carboxymethylcellulose (A), polyacrylamide (B), dextrin (C), Tween 40 (D), and Tween 60 (E), in the control of the crystal-morphology of ZnCP. Mixtures of two reagents and higher temperatures were used to further optimize the ZnCP crystals. The results show that ZnCP crystals are well dispersed, and have a large apparent density and regular crystal-morphology under the control of a mixture of reagents A and E in a mass ratio of 1:4 at 80°C.

Ab initio Study of Electronic Structure and Properties of Crystalline of 1,5-Diamino-1,2,3,4-tetrazole

Density functional method was applied to study 1,5-diamino-1,2,3,4-tetrazole （DAT, CH4N6） in both gaseous and bulk states. The banding and electronic structures of crystalline have been investigated at DFT-B3LYP/ 6-311G＊＊ level of theory. Relaxed crystal structure compares well with experimental data. The light fluctuation of the frontier orbital, which is mainly formed by atomic orbital of N（4）（heterocycle）, is the most reactive part of the molecule, which is in good agreement with the experimental results. The energy gap is 9.035 eV, which indicates that DAT is an insulator. The distribution of electrostatic potential is uniform, indicating DAT is insensitive. The charge density of the intermolecular regions in the plane is not overlaid, indicating that the intermolecular interac- tion between the neighboring molecules along this direction in the bulk is very weak. The overlap populations of N（1）--N（2） bonds are much less than those of other bonds, therefore the N（1）--N（2） bonds first rupture by external stimuli.

Preparation of Ultrafine TATB and the Technology for Crystal Morphology Control

The ultrafine 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene （TATB） has been prepared by using solvent and non-solvent method, and the influencing factors in close relationship with the grain size and crystal morphology control such as categories and dosage of surfactants, volume ratio of solvent to non-solvent have also been considered in this paper. It showed that these factors had remarkable effect on the crystal morphology, particle size and agglomeration during the crystallization process. By using 0.095% （mass percentage） ionic surfactant （S） as the additive and using spray-drops feeding device as the dropping equipment, 1.06 g TATB raw materials have been refined into free-running ellipsoid and spherical TATB grains with the grain size from 30 to 50 nm. By using 0.014% （mass percentage） non-ionic surfactant （P） as the additive, spherical TATB grains with the particle diameter of 50 nm and with narrow particle-size distribution have also been obtained. It was shown by the characterizations that the ultrafine particle of TATB had better heat resisting evenness and its 5 seconds ignition point is advanced by 7.5 K.

A novel energetic coordination compound [Co（DAT）6]（CIO4）2 has been synthesized by using 1,5-diaminotetrazole （DAT） as a ligand and its structure has been characterized using X-ray single crystal diffraction, elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The central cobalt（II） cation is coordinated by six N atoms from six DAT molecules to form a six-coordinated and distorted octahedral structure. Di-dimension layer structure was formed by the extensive intermolecular hydrogen bonds between DAT ligands and CIO4 anions along a-axis and b-axis. Thermal decomposition mechanism of [Co（DAT）6]（CIO4）2 was investigated based on differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） and Fourier transform infrared （FF-IR） spectra. The kinetic parameters of the first exothermic process were studied by applying the Kissinger＇s and Ozawa-Doyle＇s methods. Additionally, the sensitivities of this complex were tested. The results of all the studies show that [Co（DAT）6]（CIO4）2 has an extreme potential application as an energetic material.

New Energetic Complexes as Catalysts for Ammonium Perchlorate Thermal Decomposition

In this study,four new energetic complexes(1)[Cu(vimi)_(4)]DCA_(2),(2)[Co(vimi)_(4)]DCA_(2),(3)[Ni(vimi)_(4)]DCA_(2),and(4)[Cu(vimi)_(4)]CBH_(2)(vimi:1-vinylimidazole,DCA:dicyanamide anion,CBH:cyanoborohydride anion)were prepared,and their structures were characterized via single-crystal X-ray diffraction,elemental analysis,and Fourier-transform infrared *** catalytic effects of the complexes on ammonium perchlorate thermal decomposition were studied via thermal analysis methods,including differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Among the complexes,complex 2 showed the best catalytic *** two decomposition peaks in the DSC curve of the pure ammonium perchlorate-low-temperature decomposition(LTD)peak:2950C and high-temperature decomposition(HTD)peak:418℃-were merged into a lower decomposition peak(325℃)in the curve of AP with complex ***,the heat released by ammonium perchlorate with complex 2(1661.7 J g^(-1))was significantly higher than that released by the pure ammonium perchlorate(814.5 J g^(-1)).The kinetic parameters calculated using Kissinger's method revealed that the complexes had a significant effect on the activation energy of ammonium perchlorate decomposition(223.5 kJ mol^(-1)),and complex 2 lowered the activation energy to 115.6 kJ mol^(-1).The results indicate that complex 2 is a potential energetic additive for ammonium perchlorate-based solid propellants.

The thermal decomposition kinetics of composite modified double-base （CMDB） propellants with a series of contents of hexogeon （RDX） was investigated by using parameters of Tco, Ti, Tp, Tf, Tb, Ta, E, lg A and AH, which were obtained from using a CDR-4P differential scanning calorimeter （DSC） and Perkin-Elmer Pyris l thermogravimetric analyzer （TG） analyses with heating rates of 5, 10, 15 and 20 K/min. Reliable activation energy was calculated using Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method before analyzing the thermal decomposition mechanism. TG-DTG curves were treated with Malek method in order to obtain the reaction mechanisms. The obtained results show that the thermal decomposition mechanisms with the conversion from 0.2 to 0.4 was f（a）= 1/2a, and with the conversion from 0.5 to 0.7 was f（a）=（1/4）（1--a）[--1n（1 --a）]-3.

Energetic coordination compound with 5-nitro-tetrazole (NT) as ligand has gained more and more attentions due to its extreme explosive properties and ecological friendly pyrolysis products[1-6]. The research results in 1994 proposed from Sandia National Laboratories proves tetrammine-cis-bis (5-nitro-2H-tetrazole-N~2) cobalt (III) perchlorate (BNCP) to be a more powerful explosive and undergoes deflagration-to-detonation (DDT) transition more rapidly than pentaammine (5-cyanotetrazolato-N~2) cobalt (III) perchlorate (CP), has been used as a promising lead-free primary explosive in semiconductor bridge detonator, DDT detonator and laser ignition in the area of national defense in USA[2-3]. Superfine particles of BNCP was prepared and its properties was investigated by Yu and his co-workers, in 2007[7]. The crystal structures of BNCP determined at 293 K and 213 K were reported by Sandia National Laboratories in 1997 for the first time, which is agreement with each other closely[1]. Then, Sheng et al[8] obtained the same structure of BNCP, and reported more details. But now, we obtained a novel crystalline structure of tetrammine-cis-bis (5-nitro-2 H-tetrazole-N~2) cobalt (III) perchlorate dihydrate just with two lattice H_2O molecules, which exhibits a various packing method versus the anhydrous BNCP
