Mountainous regions have disadvantages in economic development because of harsh physical and climatic ***,winter tourism activities are one of the key components for supporting economic development in the *** a ski resort area supports direct and indirect employment in a region,and it stops immigration from mountainous regions to other *** research aimed to assess the potential ski areas using a multi criteria evaluation technique in the Van region which is located in the eastern part of Tü*** this context,snow cover duration,sun effect,slope,slope length,elevation,population density,distance from main roads and lake visibility were used as input factors in the decision making *** factor was standardized using a fuzzy technique based on existing well-known ski centers in Tü*** weight of inputs was defined by applying a survey to the professional *** most important factors were detected as transportation opportunities and snow covers whereas,the least important factors were elevation and population ***,lake visibility was very important to make a difference from other existing facilities in the ***,it was included as constraints and lake visible areas were extracted at the final stage of the *** ski areas were mapped in three levels as professional,intermediate and beginner *** of the suitable areas was selected as a sample projection and for the 3D simulation of the ski investment *** costs and benefits were *** was found that a ski tourism area investment can be amortized in 3 years in the region.

In this paper,the optimization of hydrogen(H2)production by ammonia borane(NH3BH3)over PdCoAg/AC was investigated using the response surface ***,the electro-oxidation of NH3BH3 was determined and optimized using the same method to measure its potential use in the direct ammonium boran fuel ***,the ternary alloyed catalyst was synthesized using the chemical reduction *** synergistic effect between Pd,Co and Ag plays an important role in enhancement of NH3BH3 *** addition,the support effect could also efficiently improve the catalytic ***,the effects of NH3BH3 concentration(0.1-50 mmol/5 mL),catalyst amount(1-30 mg)and temperature(20℃-50℃)on the rate of H2 production and the effects of temperature(20℃-50℃),NH3BH3 concentration(0.05-1 mol/L)and catalyst amount(0.5-5 jiL)on the electro-oxidation reaction of NH3BH3 were investigated using the central composite design experimental *** implementation of the response surface methodology resulted in the formulation of four models out of which the quadratic model was adjudged to efficiently appropriate the experimental data.A further statistical analysis of the quadratic model demonstrated the significance of the model with a pvalue far less than 0.05 for each model and coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.85 and 0.95 for H2 production rate and NH3BH3 electrroxidation peak current,respectively.

The effect of α-blocker therapy on erectile functions in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostate hyperplasia

In this study we aimed to evaluate the impact of doxazosin treatment on erectile functions in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms （LUTS） and having erectile dysfunction （ED） at baseline. Fifty-three patients with LUTS （IPSS score 〉 7） whose maximum flow rate （Qmax）〈 15 mL s-1 and PSA 〈 4 ng dL^-1 were enrolled in the study. Patients received doxazosin 4 nag once daily for 6 weeks. Subjective efficacy was assessed by IPSS, IPSS- Quality of Life （IPSS-QoL） for LUTS and efficacy was assessed by International Index of erectile Function （IIEF） for erectile functions at baseline and sixth weeks. The objective efficacy was assessed by Q The patients were classified according to their self reported erectile status： group I had ED and group II did not have ED. At the endpoint, doxazosin significantly improved the total IPSS score （-7.7 ±6.1, P = 0.006）, IPSS-QoL score （-1.5 ± 1.5, P = 0.024） and Qmax （3.2 ± 4.6 mL s^-1, P = 0.002） over baseline. Mean decrease in IPSS and IPSS-QoL scores after the treatment period were 6.9 ＋ 6.4 （P 〈 0.001） and 0.95 4- 1.80 （P 〈 0.05） in group I, whereas 8.2 4- 5.8 （P 〈 0.001） and 1.9 4- 1.1 in group IX （P 〈 0.001）, respectively. Mean changes of Qmax values were 2.3 4- 3.3 mL s^-1 in group I （P 〈 0.05） and 3.7 4- 5.3 mL s-1 in group II （P 〈 0.001）. The improvement of IIEF-EF scores after the treatment period was only significant for group I. The efficacy of a-blocker therapy for LUTS was better by means of symptomatic relief for patients who did not have ED when compared with patients who had ED at baseline. However, slight improvement in erectile functions with a-blocker therapy was only seen in LUTS patients with ED.

Effect of surfactant on the dielectric and electrorheological properties of zinc borate/silicone oil dispersions

Zinc borate(ZB)particles dispersed in silicone oil(SO)at concentrations of φ=5vol%-20vol% were subjected to dielectric analysis to elucidate their polarization strength,time,and *** revealed that all virgin dispersions lacked *** X-100,a non-ionic surfactant,was added to ZB/SO dispersions to enhance the polarizability of ZB *** addition of 1vol% Triton X-100 enhanced the polarizability of ZB/SO dispersions,and the 15vol% ZB/SO system provided the highest dielectric difference Δε′(the difference in ε′values at zero and infinite frequency,Δε′=ε0–ε∝)of *** electrorheological(er)activities of the ZB/SO/Triton-X dispersion system were determined through the er response test,and viscoelastic behaviors were investigated via oscillation tests.A recoverable deformation of 36% under an applied electrical field strength of 1.5 kV/mm was detected through creep and creep recovery tests.

Rootstocks effect on plant nutrition concentration in different organ of grafted watermelon

In this study carried out in 2009 and 2010 growing seasons, effect of rootstocks on plant nutrition partitioning in grafted watermelon onto four gourd rootstocks was investigated. Ferro, RS841 (Cucurbita maxima x C. moschata) and Argentario and Macis (Lagenaria hybrid) were used as rootstocks. Crimson Tide and Crisby watermelon cultivars were used as scion. Grafted and ungrafted seedlings were produced by a commercial seedling company. Plants were grafted by one cotyledon grafting techniques. Experiment was conducted in Alata Horticultural Research Station inMersin. The grafted plants were planted under low tunnel in early spring and regular cultural practices for watermelon were applied. Plant nutrition concentrations were determined in leaf, fruit rind, fruit flesh and seeds. Leaf sample was taken at flowering stage, rind, flesh and seed sample were taken from fully mature fruit. Nitrogen concentration was determined by modified Kjheldahl methods. Phosphorous concentration was determined by vanadomolybdophosphoric acid method. K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu concentration of samples were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Plant nutrient concentration in leaf, rind, flesh and seed were significantly affected by rootstocks. Increase in concentration of N, P, K, Ca and Mg in leaves was not observed in grafted plant. Ungrafted plant had higher concentration of Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu in their leaves. Ca concentration in rind of fruits from grafted watermelon was higher than ungrafted control plant except Crimson Tide/Macis and Crimson Tide/Argentario graft combinations. Plant nutrition content of fruit flesh was significantly affected by rootstocks and scion. Magnesium, Fe, Zn and Mn concentration of seed was not significantly influenced by rootstocks and scion while other plant nutrient content was significantly affected rootstocks and scion.

Remote Cerebellar Hemorrhage after Frontal Lobectomy: Zebra Sign

Remote cerebellar hemorrhages (RCHs) are rare complications of intracranial or spinal interventions. We describe a patient with an RCH that occurred after a frontal lobectomy for an intracranial tumor. A 41-year-old female patient with a headache and partial seizures underwent a right frontal lobectomy upon detection of a right frontal mass. An RCH (zebra sign) was detected on a control cranial computed tomography (CT), which was performed upon detection of frontal lobe syndrome and mild ataxia in the patient postoperatively. Although the mechanism underlying the occurrence of RCHs after intracranial procedures is not clear, they have been attributed to an imbalance between intravascular pressure and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) due to rapid drainage of the fluid, causing bleeding in the cerebellar parenchyma. Generally, bilateral superior cerebellar injury produces parallel flat hyperdense areas known as the zebra sign on CT. The prognosis of a cerebellar hemorrhage is generally good, and it can be treated with a conservative approach. Controlled drainage of CSF during surgery and selecting an appropriate surgical position perioperatively will reduce the risk of RCHs.

Dietary betaine activates hepatic VTGⅡexpression in laying hens associated with hypomethylation of GR gene promoter and enhanced GR expression

Background: Vitellogenin(VTG) is a precursor of egg yolk proteins synthesized within the liver of oviparous vertebrates. Betaine is an important methyl donor that is reported to improve egg production of laying hens with an unclear mechanism. In the present study, we fed betaine-supplemented diet(0.5%) to laying hens for 4 wk and investigated its effect on VTGII expression in the ***: Betaine did not affect chicken weight, but significantly(P erα) mR NA was significantly(P erα, but significantly(P erα/GR interaction tended to be enhanced in the liver nuclear lysates of betainesupplemented hens as determined by co-immunoprecipitation. Furthermore, dietary betaine supplementation significantly increased(P er enzymes, such as BHMT, GNMT, and DNMT1,which was associated with higher SAM/SAH ratio and hypomethylation of GR promoter ***: Betaine activates hepatic VTGII expression in association with modified DNA methylation of GR gene promoter, GR expression and erα/GR interaction. Activation of hepatic VTGII expression may contribute, at least partly, to improved egg production in betaine-supplemented hens.
