Security-Reliability Tradeoff Analysis for Jamming Aided Decode-and-Forward Relay Networks

In this paper,we explore a cooperative decode-and-forward(DF)relay network comprised of a source,a relay,and a destination in the presence of an eavesdropper.To improve physical-layer security of the relay system,we propose a jamming aided decodeand-forward relay(JDFR)scheme combining the use of artificial noise and DF relaying which requires two stages to transmit a packet.Specifically,in stage one,the source sends confidential message to the relay while the destination acts as a friendly jammer and transmits artificial noise to confound the eavesdropper.In stage two,the relay forwards its re-encoded message to the destination while the source emits artificial noise to confuse the eavesdropper.In addition,we analyze the security-reliability tradeoff(SRT)performance of the proposed JDFR scheme,where security and reliability are evaluated by deriving intercept probability(IP)and outage probability(OP),respectively.For the purpose of comparison,SRT of the traditional decode-and-forward relay(TDFR)scheme is also analyzed.Numerical results show that the SRT performance of the proposed JDFR scheme is better than that of the TDFR scheme.Also,it is shown that for the JDFR scheme,a better SRT performance can be obtained by the optimal power allocation(OPA)between the friendly jammer and user.

Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is an important cause of blindness globally,and its prevalence is increasing.Early detection and intervention can help change the outcomes of the disease.The rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)in recent years has led to new possibilities for the screening and diagnosis of DR.An AI-based diagnostic system for the detection of DR has significant advantages,such as high efficiency,high accuracy,and lower demand for human resources.At the same time,there are shortcomings,such as the lack of standards for development and evaluation and the limited scope of application.This article demonstrates the current applications of AI in the field of DR,existing problems,and possible future development directions.

As a river with more than 3000 reservoirs in its watershed,the Yellow River has been affected by dams not only on the sediment load,but also on the water quality.Water-sediment regulation scheme(WSRS),which has been carried out annually in the Yellow River since 2002,is a typical human activity affecting river water quality.Chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM)in river is susceptible to changes in ecological and environmental conditions as well as human activities.Here,we report variations in dissolved organic carbon concentrations,compositions and sources of CDOM in time series samples in the lower Yellow River during WSRS.In addition,a parallel factor fluorescence analysis(PARAFAC)method is applied to identify different fluorescent components in water samples during WRSR,showing four major components including tryptophan-like component(C1),microbial humic-like component(C2),terrestrial humic-like component(C3)and tyrosine-like component(C4).In general,C1 increased after water regulation,while C2 and C3 increased after sediment regulation,indicating that the water and sediment released by the dam have different effects on CDOM compositions.Under the impacts of the dam,source of CDOM in the lower Yellow River is mainly autochthonous related to microbial activities,and is regulated by the terrestrial input during WSRS period.Sediment resuspension inhibits microbial activities and reduces the production of autochthonous CDOM.Overall,human activities especially WSRS,as exemplified here,significantly alter the quality and quantity of CDOM in the lower Yellow River,affecting CDOM dynamics and biogeochemical processes in the estuarine environment.

This paper studies the connectivity-maintaining consensus of multi-agent systems.Considering the impact of the sensing ranges of agents for connectivity and communication energy consumption,a novel communication management strategy is proposed for multi-agent systems so that the connectivity of the system can be maintained and the communication energy can be saved.In this paper,communication management means a strategy about how the sensing ranges of agents are adjusted in the process of reaching consensus.The proposed communication management in this paper is not coupled with controller but only imposes a constraint for controller,so there is more freedom to develop an appropriate control strategy for achieving consensus.For the multi-agent systems with this novel communication management,a predictive control based strategy is developed for achieving consensus.Simulation results indicate the effectiveness and advantages of our scheme.

The precooler is a distinctive component of precooled air-breathing engines but constitutes a challenge to conventional thermal design methods.The latter are based upon assumptions that often reveal to be limited for precooler design.In this paper,a refined design method considering the variations of fluid thermophysical properties,flow area and thermal parameters distortion,was proposed to remediate their limitations.Firstly,the precooler was discretized into a fixed number of sub-microtubes based on a new discretization criterion.Next,in-house one-dimensional(1D)and two-dimensional(2D)segmented models were established for rapid thermal design and precooler rating with non-uniform airflow,respectively.The heat transfer experimental studies of supercritical hydrocarbon fuel were performed to verify the Jackson correlation for precooler design and the in-house models were validated against the reported data from open literature.On this basis,the proposed method was employed for the design analysis of hydrocarbon fuel precoolers for precooled-Turbine Based Combined Cycle(TBCC)engines.The results show that the local performance of precoolers is intrinsically impacted by the aforementioned three variations.In the case study,the local heat transfer performance is drastically affected by coolant flow transition.While the circumferential temperature distortion of airflow is weakened by heat transfer.With consideration of additional parameter variations,this novel method improves design accuracy and shortens the design time.

Genome mining for the search and discovery of two new globin-like enzymes,TriB from Fusarium poae and TutaA from Schizophyllum commne,are involved in the synthesis of two linear terpenes tricinonoic acid(1)and 2-butenedioic acid(3).Both in vivo heterologous biosynthesis and in vitro biochemical assays showed that these two enzymes catalyzed the C-C double bond cleavage of a cyclic sesquiterpene precursor(-)-germacrene D(7)and a linear diterpene backbone schizostain(2),respectively.Our work presents an unusual formation mechanism of linear terpenes from fungi and expands the functional skills of globin-like enzymes in the synthesis of terpene compounds.

Fibroblast growth factor 21(FGF21)was originally identified as an important meta-bolic regulator which plays a crucial physiological role in regulating a variety of metabolic pa-rameters through the metabolic network.As a novel multifunctional endocrine growth factor,the role of FGF21 in the metabolic network warrants extensive exploration.This insight was obtained from the observation that the FGF21-dependent mechanism that regulates lipid metabolism,glycogen transformation,and biological effectiveness occurs through the coordi-nated participation of the liver,adipose tissue,central nervous system,and sympathetic nerves.This review focuses on the role of FGF21-uncoupling protein 1(UCP1)signaling in lipid metabolism and how FGF21 alleviates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Additionally,this review reveals the mechanism by which FGF21 governs glucolipid metabolism.Recent research on the role of FGF21 in the metabolic network has mostly focused on the crucial pathway of glucolipid metabolism.FGF21 has been shown to have multiple regulatory roles in the metabolic network.Since an adequate understanding of the concrete regulatory path-ways of FGF21 in the metabolic network has not been attained,this review sheds new light on the metabolic mechanisms of FGF21,explores how FGF21 engages different tissues and organs,and lays a theoretical foundation for future in-depth research on FGF21-targeted treatment of metabolic diseases.

Modulation classification based on the collaboration of dual-channel CNN-LSTM and residual network

Deep learning has recently been progressively introduced into the field of modulation classification due to its wide application in image, vision, and other areas. Modulation classification is not only the priority of cognitive radio and spectrum sensing, but also the link during signal demodulation. Combining the advantages of convolutional neural network(CNN), long short-term memory(LSTM), and residual network(ResNet), a modulation classification method based on dual-channel CNN-LSTM and ResNet is proposed to automatically classify the modulation signal more accurately. Specifically, CNN and LSTM are initially used to form a dual-channel structure to effectively explore the spatial and temporal features of the original complex signal. It solves the problem of only focusing on temporal or spatial aspects, and increases the diversity of features. Secondly, the features extracted from CNN and LSTM are fused, making the extracted features richer and conducive to signal classification. In addition, a convolutional layer is added within the residual unit to deepen the network depth. As a result, more representative features are extracted, improving the classification performance. Finally, simulation results on the radio machine learning(RadioML) 2018.01 A dataset signify that the network’s classification performance is superior to many classifiers in the literature.

Appropriate flowering time is critical for the reproductive success of plant species.Emerging evidence indicates that calcium may play an important role in the regulation of flowering time.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear.In this study,we demonstrate that calcium-dependent protein kinase 32(CPK32) regulates flowering time by affecting the alternative polyadenylation of FLOWERING CONTROL LOCUS A(FCA) and altering the transcription of FLO WERING LOCUS C(FLC),a central repressor of flowering time.The knockdown of CPK32 results in an obvious late flowering phenotype and dramatically enhanced FL C transcription.CPK32 interacts with FCA,and phosphorylates the serine592of FCA in a Ca2+-dependent manner.Moreover,the ratio of abundance of the FCA transcripts(FCA-D and FCA-P) changes significantly in the cpk32 mutant,which subsequently affects FLC expression and consequently regulates floral transition.The present evidence demonstrates that CPK32 modulates flowering time by regulating FCA alternative polyadenylation and consequent FL C expression.
