Molecular dynamics simulation of alkaline electrolyte diffusion in anion exchange membrane

During the operation of alkaline direct liquid fuel cells,the alkaline electrolyte is usually needed in the anode electrode to accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics of the liquid ***,the crossover of the alkaline solution in the anode through the anion exchange membrane to the cathode can increase the transfer resistance of the oxygen in the *** order to reduce the crossover of the alkaline solution,the diffusion process of the alkaline solution in the anion exchange membrane needs to be fully *** this work,interface models of anion exchange membrane-alkaline electrolytes are established based on the cell structure of the quaternary ammonium polysulfone(QAPS)membrane to simulate the dynamic process of the alkaline solution in the *** effect of the type and the concentration of the alkaline solution on the transportation of the metal ions and OH^-in the membrane are *** results show that the agglomeration of Na+is formed more easily than K^+in the interface *** of the strong interaction of Na^+on OH^-,OH^-ions appear to be concentrated,resulting in that the diffusion coefficients of the metal ion and OH^-in the in Na^+solution are lower than those in the K^+*** addition,with the raised concentration of electrolyte solution,the aggregation degrees of the metal ions and OH^-can be increased,which means an enlarged mass transfer resistance of the ***,by adding a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)layer on the QAPS membrane,the distribution of metal ions tends to be concentrated,and the number of hydrophilic channels in the QAPS membrane is reduced,which significantly increases the alkali resistance of the anion exchange membrane.

Supported ionic liquid sorbents for CO_2 capture from simulated flue-gas

Supported ionic liquid(IL) sorbents for CO_2 capture were prepared by impregnating tetramethylammonium glycinate([N1111][Gly]) into four types of porous materials in this study. The CO_2 adsorption behavior was investigated in a thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA). Among them, poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)-[N1111][Gly]exhibits the best CO_2 adsorption properties in terms of adsorption capacity and rate. The CO_2 adsorption capacity reaches up to 2.14 mmol·g-1 sorbent at 35 °C. The fast CO_2 adsorption rate of PMMA-[N1111][Gly] allows 60 min of adsorption equilibrium time at 35 °C and much shorter time of 4 min is achieved at 75 °C. Further, Avrami's fractional-order kinetic model was used and fitted well with the experiment data, which shows good consistency between experimental results and theoretical model. In addition, PMMA-[N1111][Gly] remained excellent durability in the continuous adsorption–desorption cycling test. Therefore, this stable PMMA-[N1111][Gly] sorbent has great potential to be used for fast CO_2 adsorption from flue-gas.

Information Conservation in a Noncommutative Quantum Black Hole Based on Canonical Typicality

Substituent Effect on Infrared Spectra and Thermodynamic Properties of Polynitroamino Substituted Cyclopentane and Cyclohexane

Density functional theory method was employed to study the effect of the nitroamino group as a substituent in cyclopentane and cyclohexane, which usually construct polycyclic or caged nitramines. Based on the optimized molecular structures of two groups of monocyclic nitramines at the B3LYP/6-31G^＊＊ level, the infrared （IR） spectra were obtained and assigned by harmonic vibrational analysis. The calculated results agree reasonably with the available experimental data. According to the principles of statistic thermodynamics, thermodynamic properties were derived from the IR spectra, which were linearly correlated with the number of nitroamino groups as well as the temperature. The contributions of nitroamino groups to thermodynamic properties are in accord with the group additivity.

In situ FT-IR investigation on the reaction mechanism of visible light photocatalytic NO oxidation with defective g-C_3N_4

The g-C_3N_4 with different structures was prepared by heat treatment using urea(CN-U) and thiourea(CN-T) as precursors under the same conditions. The microstructure and optical properties of the photocatalyst were analyzed with advanced tools. The results showed that the CN-U has a porous structure, a high specific surface area and a wide band gap in comparison with CN-T. The in situ FT-IR technique was used to monitor the adsorption and reaction process of visible photocatalytic NO oxidation on g-C_3N_4. The corresponding reaction mechanism was proposed based on the results of reaction intermediate observation and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) radical scavenging. It was revealed that(1) the presence of defective sites favored the adsorption of gas molecules and electronically compensated it leading to promoted formation of the final products;(2) the high separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs enhanced the production of radicals during the photocatalytic reaction;(3) the hydroxyl radicals(-OH) are not selective for the decomposition of pollutants, which are favorable to the complete oxidation of the reaction intermediates. The above three aspects are the main reasons for the CN-U possessing the efficient visible light photocatalytic activity. The present work could provide new insights and methods for understanding the mechanism of photocatalysis.

Human neural stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles protect against ischemic stroke by activating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway
