Epigenetic mechanisms are integral to plant growth, development, and adaptation to environmental stimuli. Over the past two decades,our comprehension of these complex regulatory processes has expanded remarkably, producing a substantial body of knowledge on both locus-specific mechanisms and genome-wide regulatory patterns. Studies initially grounded in the model plant Arabidopsis have been broadened to encompass a diverse array of crop species, revealing the multifaceted roles of epigenetics in physiological and agronomic traits. With recent technological advancements, epigenetic regulations at the single-cell level and at the large-scale population level are emerging as new focuses. This review offers an in-depth synthesis of the diverse epigenetic regulations, detailing the catalytic machinery and regulatory functions. It delves into the intricate interplay among various epigenetic elements and their collective influence on the modulation of crop traits. Furthermore, it examines recent breakthroughs in technologies for epigenetic modifications and their integration into strategies for crop improvement. The review underscores the transformative potential of epigenetic strategies in bolstering crop performance, advocating for the development of efficient tools to fully exploit the agricultural benefits of epigenetic insights.

Hydrogen storage MgH2-xNbH （x = 0 and 0.05） properties of 2liNH2- composites and the catalysis of NbH on hydrogen sorption reaction of the li-Mg- N-H system were investigated. Hydrogen sorption properties of 2liNH2-MgH2 system are effectively improved by adding NbH. Temperature programmed desorption results show the addition of NbH reduces the dehydriding onset temperature of 2liNH2-MgH2 system by 21 K. Approximate 3.62 wt% hydrogen in 2liNH2-MgHz- 0.05NbH composite is released following a 500 min at 433 K, whereas the amount of hydrogen desorption is only -3.16 wt% for the pristine system under the same condition. The sample with NbH exhibits higher dehydriding rate compared with the pristine one. Moreover, hydrogen absorption rate increases by adding NbH into the 2liNH2- MgH2 system. Hydrogen absorption capacity of the samples with NbH is 3.23 wt% within 400 rain, which is higher than that of pristine sample. Fine NbH particles homogeneously distribute in the 2liNH2-MgH2-0.05NbH composite, and catalyze the hydrogen sorption reaction rather than reacts as a reactant into new compound.

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery increases the risk of incisional hernia(IH)at the tumor extraction *** To investigate the incidence of IH at extraction sites following laparoscopic colo-rectal cancer surgery and identify the risk factors for IH *** This study retrospectively analyzed the data of 1614 patients who underwent la-paroscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery with tumor extraction through the abdominal wall at our center between January 2017 and December ***-rences in the incidence of postoperative IH at different extraction sites and the risk factors for IH incidence were *** Among the 1614 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery,303(18.8%),923(57.2%),171(10.6%),and 217(13.4%)tumors were ex-tracted through supraumbilical midline,infraumbilical midline,umbilical,and off-midline *** these,52 patients developed IH in the abdominal wall,with an incidence of 3.2%.The incidence of postoperative IH was significantly higher in the off-midline incision group(8.8%)than in the middle incision groups[the supraumbilical midline(2.6%),infraumbilical midline(2.2%),and umbilical incision(2.9%)groups](χ^(2)=24.985;Pline incision,age,sex(female),obesity,incision infection,combined chronic cough,and hypoproteinemia were independent risk factors for IH at the site of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery(Plical midline incision is associated with a lower hernia rate and is thus a suitable tumor extraction site.

AIM: To investigate the effects of small interfering RNA (siRNA)-mediated inhibition of Class?I?phosphoinositide 3-kinase (Class?I?PI3K) signal transduction on the proliferation, apoptosis, and autophagy of gastric cancer SGC7901 and MGC803 cells.METHODS: We constructed the recombinant replication adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNA interference (RNAi)-green fluorescent protein (GFP) and control adenovirus NC-RNAi-GFP, and infected it into human gastric cancer cells. MTT assay was used to determine the growth rate of the gastric cancer cells. Activation of autophagy was monitored with monodansylcadaverine (MDC) staining after adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP and control adenovirus NC-RNAi-GFP treatment. Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3). Mitochondrial membrane potential was measured using the fluorescent probe JC-1. The expression of autophagy was monitored with MDC, LC3 staining, and transmission electron microscopy. Western blotting was used to detect p53, Beclin-1, Bcl-2, and LC3 protein expression in the culture supernatant.RESULTS: The viability of gastric cancer cells was inhibited after siRNA targeting to the Class?I?PI3K blocked Class?I?PI3K signal pathway. MTT assays revealed that, after SGC7901 cancer cells were treated with adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP, the rate of inhibition reached 27.48% ± 2.71% at 24 h, 41.92% ± 2.02% at 48 h, and 50.85% ± 0.91% at 72 h. After MGC803 cancer cells were treated with adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP, the rate of inhibition reached 24.39% ± 0.93% at 24 h, 47.00% ± 0.87% at 48 h, and 70.30% ± 0.86% at 72 h (P < 0.05 compared to control group). It was determined that when 50 MOI, the transfection efficiency was 95% ± 2.4%. Adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP (50 MOI) induced mitochondrial dysfunction and activated cell apoptosis in SGC7901 cells, and the results described here prove that RNAi of Class?I?PI3K induced apoptosis in SGC7901 cells. Phytoremediation is becoming a cost-effective technology for the in-situ clean up of sites polluted with hydrophobic organic contaminants （HOCs）. The major factors limiting phytoremediation are the mass transfer, rate of plant uptake, and microbial biodegradation of HOCs. This article discusses the potential of surfactants to enhance desorption, plant uptake, and biodegradation of HOCs in the contaminated sites. Positive effects of surfactants on phytoremediation have been recently observed in greenhouse studies. The presence of some nonionic surfactants including polyoxyethylene sorbltan monooleate （Tween 80） and polyoxyethylene（23）dodecanol （Brij35） at relatively low concentrations resulted in significant positive effects on phytoremediation for pyrene-contaminated soil. However, the anionic surfactant （sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS） and the cationic surfactant （cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, CTMAB） were not useful because of their phytotoxicity or low efficiency for surfactant-enhanced phytoremediation （SEPR）. The mechanisms of SEPR for HOC-contaminated sites were evaluated by considering experimental observations. In view of concerns about the cost effectiveness and toxicity of surfactants to plants, more research is needed to enhance the use of SEPR technology.

Quenching and partitioning(Q&P)which provides a balance between toughness and strength is a promising heat treatment in iron and steel ***,there are three parameters(quenching temperature,partitioning temperature and partitioning time)which affect the properties *** a result,it remains a challenge to get the best parameters in a low-cost way for Q&P ***,the orthogonal experimental design combined with a local optimization was adopted to optimize the quenching and partitioning parameters of 65Si2MnWA *** using this method,the combination between strength and ductility was optimized;meanwhile,the number of experiments was reduced *** treated by quenching at 180℃followed by partitioning at 330℃for 20 min,the steel reached the best combination between strength and *** detail,the product of ultimate tensile strength and reduction in area was 1.36 times(from 64.9 to 88.8 GPa%)that treated by quenching and *** addition,owing to the grain refinement,the strength and ductility increase ***,the reduction in area increased by 27.4%(from 35.8%to 45.6%)coupled with a little improvement in ultimate tensile strength(7.4%).

In this paper, the recent studies of laboratory astrophysics with strong magnetic fields in China have been *** the Shenguang-II laser facility of the National Laboratory on High-Power Lasers and Physics, a laser-driven strong magnetic field up to 200 T has been achieved. The experiment was performed to model the interaction of solar wind with dayside magnetosphere. Also the low beta plasma magnetic reconnection(MR) has been studied. Theoretically, the model has been developed to deal with the atomic structures and processes in strong magnetic field. Also the study of shock wave generation in the magnetized counter-streaming plasmas is introduced.
