With the increase of problem dimensions,most solutions of existing many-objective optimization algorithms are ***,the selection of individuals and the retention of elite individuals are *** algorithms cannot provide sufficient solution precision and guarantee the diversity and convergence of solution sets when solving practical many-objective industrial ***,this work proposes an improved many-objective pigeon-inspired optimization(ImMAPIO)algorithm with multiple selection strategies to solve many-objective optimization *** selection strategies integrating hypervolume,knee point,and vector angles are utilized to increase selection pressure to the true Pareto ***,the accuracy,convergence,and diversity of solutions are *** is applied to the DTLZ and WFG test functions with four to fifteen objectives and compared against NSGA-III,GrEA,MOEA/D,RVEA,and many-objective Pigeon-inspired optimization *** results indicate the superiority of ImMAPIO on these test functions.

Water washing is a meaningful method to improve the surface’characteristic of hydrochar produced using hydrothermal carbonization and minimize the negative effect on crop ***,the greenhouse effect resulting from water-washed hydrochar application was unclear in agricultural ***,the effect of water-washed hydrochar on methane and nitrous oxide emissions was analyzed in an infertile paddy soil based on a soil-column ***-derived hydro-char(WSH)and wheat straw-derived hydrochar(WWH)after water washing were selected and applied with low(5‰,w/w;8.5 t ha^(−1))or high addition rate(15‰,w/w;25.5 t ha^(−1)).The study indicated that water-washed hydrochar could increase the grain yield;the difference between WWH with 5‰application rate and CKU treatments was *** signifi-cantly decreased CH4 and N2O emissions in comparison with WWH addition *** the same material,there were trends in reducing greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions at low application rate,although the differences were not *** with all treatments,WSH with 5‰application rate achieved the lowest seasonal emissions for both *** mcrA gene was the critical factor affecting CH4 emission;soil NO_(3)^(−)-N concentration and the copy numbers of nirK,nirS,and nosZ jointly affected N2O *** from the high yield and low global warming potential,GHG emission intensity(GHGI)at low application rate was lower than at high application rate for ***,the response of GHG emissions to water-washed hydrochar varies with the derived feedstock;WSH is a good additive for the mitigation of GHGI.

Neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) are one of the neuro-pathological hallmarks ofAlzheimer's disease (AD) and abnormally hyperphosphorylated tau is the major protein of NFTs It wasreported that cyclin-dependent kinase5 (Cdk-5) could phosphorylate tau atmost AD-related epitopesin vivo. In this study, we investigated the effect of cdk-5 overexpression on tauhyperphosphbrylation in neuroblastoma N2a cells. We demonstrated that Overexpression of cdk-5 whichresulted in a 3.5-fold Cdk-5 activation in thetransfected cells induced a dramatic increase inphosphorylation of tau at severalphosphorylatiosites. Overexpression of cdk-5 led to a reducedstaining with antibody Tau-1 and an enhanced staining with antibody PHF-1, suggestinghy-perphosphorylation of tau at Serl99/202 and Ser396/404 sites. It implies that in vitroOverexpression of cdk-5 leads to Cdk-5 overactivation and tau hyperphosphorylation may be theunderline mechanism.

350-2500 nm supercontinuum white laser enabled by synergic high-harmonic generation and self-phase modulation

Supercontinuum white laser with large bandwidth and high pulse energy would offer incredible versatility and opportunities for basic science and high technology applications. Here, we report the generation of high-efficiency 2.8-octave-spanning ultraviolet- visible-infrared (UV-Vis-IR) (with 350-2500 nm 25 dB bandwidth) supercontinuum white laser from a single chirped periodically poled lithium niobate (CPPLN) nonlinear crystal via synergic high-harmonic generation (HHG) and self-phase modulation (SPM). The CPPLN exhibits multiple controllable reciprocal-lattice bands to simultaneously support the quasi-phase matching (QPM) for simultaneous broadband 2nd-10th HHG via cascaded three-wave mixing against a broadband fundamental pump laser. Due to the efficient second-order nonlinearity (2nd-NL) up-conversion and significant 3rd-NL SPM effect both in the pump and HHG laser pulses, 350-2500 nm supercontinuum white laser is eventually obtained with 17 μJ per pulse under pump of 45 μJ per pulse mid-infrared femtosecond laser corresponding to an average high conversion efficiency of 37%. Our work opens up a route towards creating UV-Vis-IR all-spectrum white lasers through engineering the synergic action of HHG and SPM effects in nonlinear crystals for applications in ultrafast spectroscopy, single-shot remote sensing, biological imaging, and so on.

Experimental study on the sampling efficiency of the whirl type separation sand sampler in a wind tunnel

A performance test was conducted in a wind tunnel by changing the principal configuration parameters of a sampler such as the diameter of the container, inlet width and cone height. The results show that the average sand collection rate is from 80% to 90% when any one of the configuration parameter levels is changed. However, the variation of a parameter level results in different ef-fects on the sand collection rate for each soil sample within a certain size range of sand grains. The results show that for various sand grain sized soil sample at each wind speed, the sand collection rate decreases when the diameter of the container changes from 50 mm to 40 mm, the sand collection rate increases by about 2%-3% when the inlet width changes from 10 mm to 8 mm, and the sand collection rate increases by about 3%-4% when cone height is altered from 100 mm to 125 mm. The average sand collection rate is enhanced by 2%-4% for the soil sample of different sized sand grains when the diameter of the container is 50 mm, the inlet width is 8 mm, and cone height is 125 mm.

Although DNA 5-hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC)is recognized as an important epigenetic mark in cancer,its precise role in lymph node metastasis remains *** this study,we investigated how 5 hmC associates with lymph node metastasis in breast *** with high expression of TET1 and TET2 proteins,large numbers of genes in the metastasis-positive primary tumors exhibit higher 5 hmC levels than those in the metastasis-negative primary *** contrast,the TET protein expression and DNA 5 hmC decrease significantly within the metastatic lesions in the lymph nodes compared to those in their matched primary *** genomewide analysis of 8 sets of primary tumors,we identified 100 high-confidence metastasis-associated5 hmC signatures,and it is found that increased levels of DNA 5 hmC and gene expression of MAP7 D1 associate with high risk of lymph node ***,we demonstrate that MAP7 D1,regulated by TET1,promotes tumor growth and *** conclusion,the dynamic5 hmC profiles during lymph node metastasis suggest a link between DNA 5 hmC and lymph node ***,the role of MAP7 D1 in breast cancer progression suggests that the metastasis-associated 5 hmC signatures are potential biomarkers to predict the risk for lymph node metastasis,which may serve as diagnostic and therapeutic targets for metastatic breast cancer.

Digital guided therapy(DGT)has been advocated as a contemporary computer-aided technique for treating endodontic diseases in recent *** concept of DGT for endodontic diseases is categorized into static guided endodontics(SGE),necessitating a meticulously designed template,and dynamic guided endodontics(DGE),which utilizes an optical triangulation tracking *** on cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)images superimposed with or without oral scan(OS)data,a virtual template is crafted through software and subsequently translated into a 3-dimensional(3D)printing for SGE,while the system guides the drilling path with a real-time navigation in *** was reported to resolve a series of challenging endodontic cases,including teeth with pulp obliteration,teeth with anatomical abnormalities,teeth requiring retreatment,posterior teeth needing endodontic microsurgery,and tooth *** reports and basic researches all demonstrate that DGT stand as a precise,time-saving,and minimally invasive approach in contrast to conventional freehand *** expert consensus mainly introduces the case selection,general workflow,evaluation,and impact factor of DGT,which could provide an alternative working strategy in endodontic treatment.
