Plasma spray coating on interconnector toward promoted solid oxide fuel cells and solid oxide electrolysis cells

Interconnector is a critical component to construct solid oxide cells (SOCs) stack. Oxidation of metallic interconnectors and Cr poisoning caused by oxidation are important factors that lead to long-term performance degradation of SOCs. Coating on the interconnector surface is an important approach to inhibit the oxidation and Cr migration of the interconnector. Herein, (La0.75Sr0.25)0.95MnO3–δ (LSM) and Mn1.5Co1.5O4 (MCO) are used to fabricate the coatings of interconnector. Two advanced thermal spray technology, atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) and low-pressure plasma spray (LPPS), are adopted for the coating preparation. The electrochemical performance, rising and cooling cycle stability, and Cr diffusion inhibition performance of the coatings are tested and evaluated. The result indicates that MCO can generate more uniform and denser coatings than LSM. In addition, MCO coatings prepared by LPPS shows the best electrochemical performance, rising and cooling cycle stability, and Cr diffusion inhibition. The initial area specific resistance (ASR) is 0.0027 Ω·cm2 at 800 °C. After 4 cooling cycle tests, the ASR increases to 0.0032 Ω·cm2 but lower than other samples. Meanwhile, the relative intense of Cr at the interface of SUS430 with MCO coatings fabricated by LPPS is lower than that of MCO fabricated by APS after 4 rising and cooling cycle operations, showing more favorable Cr diffusion inhibition performance.

The concerns over energy crisis and climate change caused by the excessive consumption of fossil fuels and the associated emission of greenhouse gases, have driven many countries to develop policies for an energy transition into zero-carbon energy sources, essentially aiming at decarbonizing their energy systems. Among various renewable sources, hydrogen has been hailed as an ideal alternative to provide secure, cost-effective, and non-polluting energy. In recent years, there has been noteworthy progress in hydrogen electrochemical conversion and utilization techniques and devices, including water electrolyzers, proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), etc. Each of these technologies has yielded a series of encouraging advances. To showcase these recent advances, Frontiers in Energy is launching a special issue titled “electrochemical conversion and utilization of hydrogen energy”.

Clinical value of modified Shenling Baizhu powder (加味参苓白术散) in treating targeted therapy-induced diarrhea in non-small cell lung cancer

OBJECTIVE: To assess clinical value of modified Shenling Baizhu powder (加味参苓白术散， SBP) in intervening targeted therapy-induced diarrhea. METHODS: This study was a prospective randomized controlled study. Eighty-five non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with diarrhea who took targeted drugs were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group received modified SBP， while the control group received imodium. During 2 courses of treatment (1 week/course) and 2 weeks of follow-up， we observed remission and recurrence of diarrhea， as well as the improvement of Karnofsky score (KPS) in the two groups and drug safety. RESULTS: Eighty cases were completed， with 40 cases in the experimental group and 40 cases in the control group. The control group’s diarrhea remission rate was significantly lower than the experimental group’s (P 0.05). No unique adverse events occurred in experimental group or control group. CONCLUSION: The modified SBP could improve targeted therapy-induced diarrhea in NSCLC， and is superior to imodium in relieving diarrhea， improving related symptom scores and symptoms， with no obvious drug-related adverse events.

Optical Extinctions of Inter-Arm Molecular Clouds in M31:A Pilot Study for the Upcoming CSST Observations

Recent submillimeter dust thermal emission observations have unveiled a significant number of inter-arm massive molecular clouds in ***,the effectiveness of this technique is limited to its sensitivity,making it challenging to study more distant *** study introduces an alternative approach,utilizing optical extinctions derived from space-based telescopes,with a focus on the forthcoming China Space Station Telescope(CSST).We first demonstrate the capability of this method by constructing dust extinction maps for 17 inter-arm massive molecular clouds in M31 using the Panchromatic Hubble Andromeda Treasury *** analysis reveals that inter-arm massive molecular clouds with an optical extinction(A_(V)) greater than 1.6 mag exhibit a notable A_(V) excess,facilitating their *** majority of these inter-arm massive molecular clouds show an A_(V) around 1 mag,aligning with measurements from our JCMT *** validation using a mock CSST RGB star catalog confirms the method's *** show that the derived A_(V)values using CSST z and y photometries align more closely with the input *** clouds with A_(V)> 1.6 mag can also be identified using the CSST mock *** thus claim that future CSST observation clouds provide an effective way for the detection of inter-arm massive molecular clouds with significant optical extinction in nearby galaxies.

Discrete element simulation of the grain mixing law in brown rice germination device

The discrete element method(DEM)was used in this study to numerically simulate the mixing process and motion law of particles in brown rice germination *** the reliability of simulation experiments was verified through physical *** the discrete element simulation experiment,there were three mixing stages in the mixing process of the *** particle motion conditions at different rotational speeds were rolling,cascading,cataracting and *** lower the filling degree,the higher the particle mixing *** radial trajectory of the particles was approximated as an elliptical helix that continuously shrank towards the *** research results indicated that under the same speed and filling conditions,the motion of brown rice particles in both the simulated and physical test environments is rolling and the drop height is the same.
