Two-dimensional MXenes are key high-capacitance electrode materials for micro-supercapacitors(MSCs)catering to integrated ***,the narrow electrochemical voltage windows of conventional aqueous electrolytes(≤1.23 V)and symmetric MXene MSCs(typically≤0.6 V)substantially limit their output voltage and energy *** concentrated aqueous electrolytes exhibit lower water molecule activity,which inhibits water splitting and consequently widens the operating voltage ***,we report ultrahigh-voltage aqueous planar asymmetric MSCs(AMSCs)based on a highly concentrated LiCl-gel quasi-solid-state electrolyte with MXene(Ti3C2Tx)as the negative electrode and MnO_(2) nanosheets as the positive electrode(MXene//MnO_(2)-AMSCs).The MXene//MnO_(2)-AMSCs exhibit a high voltage of up to 2.4 V,attaining an ultrahigh volumetric energy density of 53 mWh cm−***,the in-plane geometry and the quasi-solid-state electrolyte enabled excellent mechanical flexibility and performance uniformity in the serially/parallel connected packs of our ***,the MXene//MnO_(2)-AMSC-based integrated microsystem,in conjunction with solar cells and consumer electronics,could efficiently realize simultaneous energy harvesting,storage,and *** findings of this study provide insights for constructing high-voltage aqueous MXene-based AMSCs as safe and self-sufficient micropower sources in smart integrated microsystems.

Planar Na ion micro-supercapacitors(NIMSCs) that offer both high energy density and power density are deemed to a promising class of miniaturized power sources for wearable and portable microelectron-ics. Nevertheless, the development of NIMSCs are hugely impeded by the low capacity and sluggish Na ion kinetics in the negative ***, we demonstrate a novel carbon-coated Nb_(2)O_5 microflower with a hierarchical structure composed of vertically intercrossed and porous nanosheets, boosting Na ion storage performance. The unique structural merits, including uniform carbon coating, ultrathin nanosheets and abun-dant pores, endow the Nb_(2)O_5 microflower with highly reversible Na ion storage capacity of 245 mAh g^(-1) at 0.25 C and excellent rate *** from high capacity and fast charging of Nb_(2)O_5 microflower, the planar NIMSCs consisted of Nb_(2)O_5 negative electrode and activated car-bon positive electrode deliver high areal energy density of 60.7 μWh cm^(-2),considerable voltage window of 3.5 V and extraordinary cyclability. Therefore, this work exploits a structural design strategy towards electrode materials for application in NIMSCs, holding great promise for flexible microelectronics.

Exploring stable clusters to understand structural evolution from atoms to macroscopic matter and to construct new materials is interesting yet challenging in chemistry. Utilizing our newly developed deep-ultraviolet laser ionization mass spectrometry technique, here we observe the reactions of neutral cobalt clusters with oxygen and find a very stable cluster species of Co13O8that dominates the mass distribution in the presence of a large flow rate of oxygen gas. The results of global-minimum structural search reveal a unique cubic structure and distinctive stability of the neutral Co13O8cluster that forms a new class of metal oxides that we named as ‘metalloxocubes’. Thermodynamics and kinetics calculations illustrate the structural evolution from icosahedral Co13to the metalloxocube Co13O8with decreased energy, enhanced stability and aromaticity. This class of neutral oxygen-passivated metal clusters may be an ideal candidate for genetic materials because of the cubic nature of the building blocks and the stability due to cubic aromaticity.

The large-scale development of electric vehicles(EVs)requires numerous charging stations to serve them,and the charging stations should be reasonably laid out and planned according to the charging demand of electric *** the costs of both operators and users,a site selection model for optimal layout planning of charging stations is constructed,and a queuing theory approach is used to determine the charging pile configuration to meet the charging demand in the planning *** solve the difficulties of particle swarm global optimization search,the improved random drift particle swarm optimization(IRDPSO)and Voronoi diagram are used to jointly solve for the optimal layout of electric *** final arithmetic analysis verifies the feasibility and practicality of the model and algorithm,and the results show that the total social cost is minimized when the charging station is 9,the location of the charging station is close to the center of gravity and the layout is reasonable.

Inspired by the fast,agile movements of insects,we present a 1.9 g,4.5 cm in length,piezoelectrically driven,quadrupedal *** microrobot uses a novel spatial parallel mechanism as its hip joint,which consists of two spatially orthogonal slider-crank *** mechanism maps two inputs of two independent actuators to the decoupled swing and lift outputs of a leg,and each leg can produce the closed trajectories in the sagittal plane necessary for robot ***,the kinematics of the transmission are analyzed,and the parameters of the flexure hinges are designed based on geometrical constraints and yield *** hip joints,legs and exoskeletons are integrated into a five-layer standard laminate for monolithic fabrication which is composed of two layers of carbon fiber,two layers of acrylic adhesive and a polyimide *** measured output force(15.97 mN)of each leg is enough to carry half of the robot’s weight,which is necessary for the robot to move *** has been proven that the robot can successfully perform forward and turning *** to the microrobot fabricated with discrete components,the monolithically fabricated microrobot is more capable of maintaining the original direction of locomotion when driven by a forward signal and has a greater speed,whose maximum speed is 25.05 cm/s.

Tribological applications of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)are often limited by technological complexity to overcome its poor wear ***,a PTFE/polyetheretherketone(PEEK)heterolayer(HL)was proposed and evaluated as a new solid lubrication ***-on-disk tribometry found the lowest friction coefficient(μ)of 0.031 and ultralow wear for the PEEK/HL under typical *** friction coefficient of the HL surpasses those of the state-of-the-art polymeric coatings/composites by at least 200%,and approaches that of highly lubricated *** investigations revealed multi-length physical and chemical heterogeneity of the HL that best facilitates a tribofilm with high subsurface stability and surface *** technological simplicity and robustness of the HL’s high lubricity make it a promising new type of solid lubrication toward greater reliability and longevity.
