Membrane distillation(MD)is a promising alternative desalination technology,but the hydrophobic membrane cannot intercept volatile organic compounds(VOCs),resulting in aggravation in the quality of *** term of this,electro-Fenton(EF)was coupled with sweeping gas membrane distillation(SGMD)in a more efficient way to construct an advanced oxidation barrier at the gas-liquid interface,so that the VOCs could be trapped in this layer to guarantee the water quality of the *** the so-called EF-MD process,an interfacial interception barrier containing hydroxyl radical formed on the hydrophobic membrane *** contributed to the high phenol rejection of 90.2% with the permeate phenol concentration lower than 1.50 mg/*** interceptions can be achieved in a wide temperature range,even though the permeate flux of phenol was also *** EF-MD system was robust to high salinity and could electrochemically regenerate ferrous ions,which endowed the long-term stability of the *** novel EF-MD configuration proposed a valuable strategy to intercept VOCs in MD and will broaden the application of MD in hypersaline wastewater treatment.

This paper focuses on the problems of point cloud deep neural networks in classification and segmentation tasks, including losing important information during down-sampling, ignoring relationships among points when extracting features, and network performance being susceptible to the sparsity of point cloud. To begin with, this paper proposes a farthest point sampling(FPS)-important points sampling(F-IPS) method for down-sampling, which can preserve important information of point clouds and maintain the geometry of input data. Then, the local feature relation aggregating(LFRA) method is proposed for feature extraction, improving the network's ability to learn contextual information and extract rich local region features. Based on these methods, the important points feature aggregating net(IPFA-Net) is designed for point cloud classification and segmentation tasks. Furthermore, this paper proposes the multi-scale multi-density feature connecting(MMFC) method to reduce the negative impact of point cloud data sparsity on network performance. Finally, the effectiveness of IPFA-Net is demonstrated through experiments on ModelNet40, ShapeNet part, and ScanNet v2 datasets. IPFA-Net is robust to reducing the number of point clouds, with only a 3.3% decrease in accuracy under a 16-fold reduction of point number. In the part segmentation experiments, our method achieves the best segmentation performance for five objects.

Exertional Rhabdomyolysis Induced Acute Kidney Injury: A Case Report and Literature Review

Background: The exRML (exertional rhabdomyolysis) is a pathophysiologic condition of skeletal muscle cell damage and breakdown associated with high intensity or prolonged exercise, normal exercise under extreme circumstances, or sudden and excessive skeletal muscle contraction. It may manifest from the increase in CK (creatine kinase) or MYO (myoglobin), a protein that can cause life-threatening injury to the kidney (AKI, acute kidney injury), and may or may not be associated with myoglobinuria. Here, we presented a case of exRML with AKI, and then reviewed the related reports. Vigorous hydration, sodium bicarbonate and furosemide are key treatments. Aim: To examine an elderly patient with exRML induced AKI and the key treatment process. Case summary: A 61-year-old man left our hospital without permission after his admission and has been walking for almost 30 kms with no water and food intake, then was diagnosed exRML and exRML induced AKI with an obvious elevation of CK, MYO and decrease of eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate) after coming back, and was treated with vigorous hydration, loop diuresis, sodium bicarbonate, prostaglandin and Shenkang injection. After vigorous resuscitation, the patient’s renal function, CK and MYO returned normal. Conclusions: The exRML can cause serious complications such as AKI and death. Delayed diagnosis can be critical;therefore, manner of time should be taken to achieve a favorable prognosis.

Quantifying the 2022 drought and spatiotemporal evolution of TWSA in the Dongting Lake Basin over the past two decades

Extreme hydrological events such as droughts and floods have been increasingly influenced by abnormal atmospheric disturbances caused by human activity and global warming. The Dongting Lake Basin(DLB)has experienced challenging circumstances over the past 20 years due to complex climatic variations,leading to extreme flooding and drought. This study aims to investigate the spatiotemporal variation in terrestrial water storage anomalies(TWSA) over the DLB using data from the GRACE/GRACE-FO and GLDAS spanning the latest two decades. A significant decline trend in TWSA is unveiled from July 2019 to May 2023, with the rate of change determined as-1.94 cm/year and-1.99 cm/year based on the GRACE/GRACE-FO and GLDAS, respectively. The GRACE-Drought Severity Index(DSI) is employed to identify and evaluate the severity and spatiotemporal evolution of the 2022 drought event in the DLB. The results accurately capture the drought event, which began in July 2022 and continued until March 2023, with the most severe conditions occurring in October 2022, when the GRACE-DSI value stood at-2.06 and the TWSA decreased by 15.24 cm and 33.51 cm relative to the same month in 2021 and 2020, ***, the daily water level variation at the Chenglingji hydrological gauging station in 2022 broke previous records, reaching a minimum of only 19 m. Comparing the 2022 drought event with the drought events in 2006 and 2011, the impact of drought on vegetation growth conditions was relatively small, but there was still significant vegetation degradation across the DLB.
