Considering the large diameter effect of piles,the influence of different pile-soil analysis methods on the design of monopile foundations for offshore wind turbines has become an urgent problem to be solved.Three different pile-soil models were used to study a large 10 MW monopile wind turbine.By modeling the three models in the SACS software,this paper analyzed the motion response of the overall structure under the conditions of wind and waves.According to the given working conditions,this paper concludes that under the condition of independent wind,the average value of the tower top x-displacement of the rigid connection method is the smalle st,and the standard deviation is the smallest under the condition of independent wave.The results obtained by the p-y curve method are the most conservative.

Magnetic resonance imaging for local complications of acute pancreatitis: A pictorial review

Acute pancreatitis is a common disease characterized by sudden upper abdominal pain and vomiting. Alcoholism and choledocholithiasis are the most common factors for this disease. The choice of treatment for acute pancreatitis might be affected by local complications, such as local hemorrhage in or around the pancreas, and peripancreatic infection or pseudoaneurysm. Diagnostic imaging modalities for acute pancreatitis have a significant role in confirming the diagnosis of the disease, helping detect the extent of pancreatic necrosis, and for diagnosing local complications. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) might be indicated in acute pancreatitis for detecting and characterizing local complications of acute pancreatitis that involve necrotic, hemorrhagic, infectious, vascular, and pseudocyst disorders. The general MRI sequences for pancreatitis require the combined use of T1-weighted, T2-weighted sequences, and magnetic resonance chol-angiopancreatography. For imaging of pancreatic necrosis, the combination of T1-weighted and T2-weighted findings with dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging gives a comprehensive evaluation of the extent of necrosis and full range of inflammatory extension. For imaging of infectious complications, dynamic contrast-enhanced examinations might help differentiate pancreatic cellulitis or abscesses, from pancreatic fluid collection or simple pseudocysts. For vascular abnormalities, the combination of cross-sectional pancreatic parenchyma imaging with MRA represents a single diagnostic modality for the full evaluation of peripancreatic artery and vein involvement, such as arterial pseudoaneurysms and venous thromboses. The purpose of this pictorial review is to examine the MRI appearances of various local complications of acute pancreatitis and to discuss the practical setup of MRI in local complications of acute pancreatitis.

Changes in expression of adrenomedullin in the myocardium of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Background Adrenomedullin is a potent vasodilating peptide and involved in many cardiovascular diseases. However, whether adrenomedullin is involved in the pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy is still unknown. Our aim was to characterize the expression pattern of adrenomedullin in the myocardium of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Methods The weight, blood glucose, and urine glucose of 20 streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats were measured before and after model induction in the diabetic and control groups. The alteration of the adrenomedullin expression was explored in the left ventricular myocardium in both groups by immunohistochemistry. Changes in heart ultrastructure were also analyzed by using hemotoxylin and eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy. All data were analyzed by the independent samples ttest. Results The data of weight, blood glucose, and urine glucose had no significant difference between the control and the diabetic groups before animal model induction. Four weeks after the induction of diabetes, the differences between the two groups in weight, blood glucose, and urine glucose were distinct. When compared with the control group, the diabetic group showed ultrastructural changes including hypertrophy, fibrosis, myofibrillar disarrangements, mitochondrial disruption, and increase in nuclear membrane invaginations. A significant decrease of adrenomedullin expression was also observed in cardiac myocytes of the diabetic rats （P〈0.01）. Conclusions Our study provides experimental evidence that hyperglycemia could damage cardiac myocytes. Down-regulation of cardioprotective peptide adrenomedullin in the myocardium of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats may contribute to the diabetic cardiomyopathy and left ventricular dysfunction.

Background Prospective mortality studies in the United States revealed that the mortality was elevated in diabetics compared to normal individuals following chronic spinal cord injury （SCI）. Our study was conducted to investigate the levels of platelet-derived growth factor （PDGF） of astrocytes in SCI in streptozotocin （STZ）-induced diabetic rats. Methods Thirty male Sprague-Dawley （SD） rats were randomly divided into 3 groups： SCI group, diabetic SCI group, and sham operation control group. We employed STZ-induced diabetic SD rats and a weight-drop contusion SCI model. The rats were sacrificed on day 7 after the induction of SCI. Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting analysis were used to detect the PDGF expression level. Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan locomotor rating scale （BBB） was also used to evaluate the neurological recovery level of the rats. Results PDGF positive astrocyte numbers were significantly higher and PDGF staining was more intensive in astrocytes in the SCI group than in the diabetic SCI group （P〈0.05）. The diabetic SCI group showed a slower recovery of motor function with a lower BBB score 7 days after acute spinal injury. Conclusions PDGF is an important factor for the recovery of neurological function after acute spinal injury and hyperglycemia in diabetic rats could depress the expression of PDGF in injured spinal cord. This may help to explain the slower recovery and higher mortality in diabetics after SCI.

Density and Seasonal Dynamics of Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) Mediterranean on Common Crops and Weeds Around Cotton Fields in Northern China

The density seasonal dynamics of Bemisia tabaci MED were evaluated over two years in a cotton-growing area in Langfang, Hebei Province, northern China on cotton （Gossypium hirsutum L.） and six other co-occurring common plants, common ragweed （Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.）, piemarker （Abutilon theophrasti Medicus）, sunflower （Helianthus annuus L.）, sweet potato （Ipomoea batatas L.）, soybean （Glycine max L.）, and maize （Zea mays L.）. The whitefly species identity was repeatedly tested and confirmed; seasonal dynamics on the various host plants were standardized by the quartile method. B. tabaci MED appeared on weeds （the common ragweed and piemarker） about 10 days earlier than on cotton, or the other cultivated plants. The peak population densities were observed over a span of 2 to 3 weeks on cotton, starting in early （2010） or mid-August （2011）. The common ragweed growing adjacent to cotton supported the highest B. tabaci densities （no. on 100 cm2 leaf surface）, 12-22 fold higher than on cotton itself. Sunflower supported more B. tabaci than the other plants, and about 1.5-2 fold higher than cotton did, Our results indicate that weeds （esp. the common ragweed） around cotton fields could increase the population density of B. tabaci MED on cotton, while sunflower could act as a trap crop for decreasing pest pressure on cotton.

An intelligent fuzzy-PID controller consisting of fuzzy logic controller and PID controller was developed to control the molten steel level of twin-roll strip caster.Additionally,a feedforward differential PID controller was used for stopper position control in order to avoid differential kick.It is proved by simulation that the proposed intelligent controller is able to obtain zero steady state error asymptotically and the control system is robust due to its fuggy behavior of the controller.

The prototype, basic parameters, composition and structure of computer simulation system of stretch reducing mill for tubes were introduced. The software has an obvious style of object-oriented programming, and the modules were integrated in the simulation system. The system can optimize pass design, and it can automatically classify pass series according to the product syllabus, formulate the rolling table and simulate the rolling parameters in stretch reducing process. The simulation results were compared with the detailed technical data (used as experimental data) provided by Baotou Iron and Steel Company, and the comparison gave a clear proof of the precision of the models.

The simulation of the work roll temperature field was carried out by means of ANSYS software, and the thermal crown of the roll along its axis was obtained. The thermal-structural coupled element and contact element were introduced. In the simulation of work roll temperature field, the convert boundary condition and the transient thermal contact between the roll and strip were studied. Besides, the dynamic variation of the work roll temperature and the transient temperature distribution of the work roll during hot rolling were investigated. The calculated results were in good agreement with the measured data.
