To verify the performance of the neutron total cross-sectional spectrometer, the neutron total cross section of carbon is initially measured in the energy range of 1 eV to 20 MeV using the time-of-flight method. The measurement is performed at the Back-n white neutron source with a 76-m time-of-flight path using the China Spallation Neutron Source. A multilayer fast fission chamber with 235U and 238U is employed as the neutron detector. The diameter and thickness of the natural graphite sample are 70 mm and 40 mm, respectively. Signal waveforms are collected using a data acquisition system. Off-line data processing was used to obtain the neutron time-of-flight spectra and transmissions. The uncertainty of the counting statistics is generally approximately 3% for each bin in the energy range of 1–20 MeV. It is determined that the results for the neutron total cross section of carbon obtained using ^235U cells are in good agreement with the results obtained using 238U cells within limits of statistical uncertainty. Moreover, the measured total cross sections show good agreement with the broadening evaluated data.

It's a challenge for detecting the therapeutic targets of a polypharmacological drug from variations in the responsed networks in thedfferentiated populations with complex diseases,as stable coronary heart ***,in an adaptive,31-center,randomized,double-blind trial invoving 920 patients with moderate symptomatic stable angina treated by 14-day danhong injection(DHI),a kind of polyphamacological drug with high quality control,or placebo(0.9%saline),with 76-day following-up,we firstly confrmed that DHl couldincrease the proportion of patients with clinically significant changes on angina-frequency assessed by Seattle Angina Questionnaire(ASAQ-AF220)(12.78%at day 30,95%confidence interval[C]5.86-19.71%,P=0.0003,13.82%at day 6C0,95%CI 6.82-20.82%,P=0.0001and 8.95%at day 90,95%CI 2.06-15.85%,P=0.01).We also found that there were no significant differences in new-onset major vascularevents(P=0.8502)and serious adverse events(P=0.9105)between DHl and *** performing the RNA sequencing in 62 selectedpatients,we developed a systemic modular approach tp identfy differentilly expressed modules(DEMs)of DHI with the Z_(summay)valueless than 0 compared with the control group,calculated by weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA),and sketched out thebasic framework on a modular map with 25 functional modules targeted by ***,the effective therapeutic module(ETM),defined as the highest corelation value with the phenotype alteration(SAQ-AF,the change in SAQ-AF at day 30 from baseline)calculatedby WGCNA,was identifed in the population with the best effect(ASAQ-AF240),which is related to anticoagulation and regulation ofcholesterol *** assessed the modular flexbility of this ETM using the global topological D value based on Euclidean distance,which is corelated with phenotype alteration(r^(2):0.8204,P=0.019)by linear *** study identified the ant-angina therapeuticmodule in the effective population treated by the multi-target

Background Primary vesicoureteral reflux(VUR)is a common congenital anomaly of the kidney and urinary tract(CAKUT)in *** present study identified the possible genetic contributions to primary VUR in *** Patients with primary VUR were enrolled and analysed based on a national multi-center registration network(Chinese Children Genetic Kidney Disease database,CCGKDD)that covered 23 different provinces/regions in China from 2014 to *** causes were sought using whole-exome sequencing(WES)or targeted-exome *** A total of 379 unrelated patients(male:female 219:160)with primary VUR were ***-four(16.9%)children had extrarenal manifestations,and 165(43.5%)patients showed the coexistence of other CAKUT ***-eight patient(23.2%)exhibited impaired renal function at their last visit,and 18 of them(20.5%)developed ESRD at the median age of 7.0(IQR 0.9–11.4)years.A monogenic cause was identified in 28 patients(7.39%).These genes included PAX2(n=4),TNXB(n=3),GATA3(n=3),SliT2(n=3),ROBO2(n=2),TBX18(n=2),and the other 11 genes(one gene for each patient).There was a significant difference in the rate of gene mutations between patients with or without extrarenal complications(14.1%vs.6%,P=0.035).The frequency of genetic abnormality was not statistically significant based on the coexistence of another CAKUT(9.6%vs.5.6%,P=0.139,Chi-square test)and the grade of reflux(9.4%vs.6.7%,P=0.429).Kaplan–Meier survival curve showed that the presence of genetic mutations did affect renal survival(Log-rank test,P=0.01).PAX2 mutation carriers(HR 5.1,95%CI 1.3–20.0;P=0.02)and TNXB mutation carriers(HR 20.3,95%CI 2.4–168.7;P=0.01)were associated with increased risk of progression to *** PAX2,TNXB,GATA3 and SliT2 were the main underlying monogenic causes and accounted for up to 46.4%of monogenic *** complications and renal function were significantly related to the findings of genetic factors in children with p

Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March *** Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 29107 n/cm2/s at 55 m from the target,and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the *** addition,the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 200 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the *** with advanced spectrometers,detectors,and application utilities,the Back-n facility can serve wide applications,with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional *** article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics,the experimental setups,and the ongoing applications at Backn.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of centralized culture and possible influencing ***:From January 2010 to July 2012,66452 patients with suspected Helicobacter pylori(***) infection from 26 hospitals in Zhejiang and jiangsu Provinces in China underwent gastrointestinal *** mucosal biopsies were taken from the antrum for *** biopsies were transported under natural environmental temperature to the central laboratory in Hangzhou city and divided into three groups based on their transport time:5,24 and 48 *** culture results were reported after 72 h and the positive culture rates were analyzed by a χ2 *** additional 5736 biopsies from ***-positive patients(5646 rapid urease test-positive and 90 14C-urease breath test-positive) were also cultured for quality control in the central laboratory ***:The positive culture rate was 31.66%(21036/66452) for the patient samples and 71.72%(4114/5736) for the ***-positive quality control *** the 5 h transport group,the positiveculture rate was 30.99%(3865/12471),and 32.84%(14960/45553) in the 24 h transport *** contrast,the positive culture rate declined significantly in the 48 h transport group(26.25%; P lined from 36.67%(1462/3987) to 24.12%(1799/7459).When the temperature exceeded 24℃,the positive culture rate decreased significantly,especially in the 48 h transport group(23.17%).CONCLUSION:Transportation of specimens within 24 h and below 24℃ is reasonable and acceptable for centralized culture of multicenter *** samples.

Nucleic acids are natural biopolymers of nucleotides that store, encode, transmit and express genetic information, which play central roles in diverse cellular events and diseases in living things. The analysis of nucleic acids and nucleic acids-based analysis have been widely applied in biological studies, clinical diagnosis, environmental analysis, food safety and forensic *** the past decades, the field of nucleic acids analysis has been rapidly advancing with many technological *** this review, we focus on the methods developed for analyzing nucleic acids, nucleic acids-based analysis, device for nucleic acids analysis, and applications of nucleic acids analysis. The representative strategies for the development of new nucleic acids analysis in this field are summarized, and key advantages and possible limitations are discussed. Finally, a brief perspective on existing challenges and further research development is provided.

The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST, also called the guo Shou Jing Telescope) is a special reflecting Schmidt telescope. LAMOST’s special design allows both a large aperture (effective aperture of 3.6 m–4.9 m) and a wide field of view (FOV) (5°). It has an innovative active reflecting Schmidt configuration which continuously changes the mirror’s surface that adjusts during the observation process and combines thin deformable mirror active optics with segmented active optics. Its primary mirror (6.67m×6.05 m) and active Schmidt mirror (5.74m×4.40 m) are both segmented, and composed of 37 and 24 hexagonal sub-mirrors respectively. By using a parallel controllable fiber positioning technique, the focal surface of 1.75 m in diameter can accommodate 4000 optical fibers. Also, LAMOST has 16 spectrographs with 32 CCD cameras. LAMOST will be the telescope with the highest rate of spectral acquisition. As a national large scientific project, the LAMOST project was formally proposed in 1996, and approved by the Chinese government in 1997. The construction started in 2001, was completed in 2008 and passed the official acceptance in June 2009. The LAMOST pilot survey was started in October 2011 and the spectroscopic survey will launch in September 2012. Up to now, LAMOST has released more than 480 000 spectra of objects. LAMOST will make an important contribution to the study of the large-scale structure of the Universe, structure and evolution of the Galaxy, and cross-identification of multiwaveband properties in celestial objects.

This paper describes the data release of the LAMOST pilot survey, which includes data reduction, calibration, spectral analysis, data products and data access. The accuracy of the released data and the information about the FITS headers of spectra are also introduced. The released data set includes 319 000 spectra and a catalog of these objects.

We report the first results on 76Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment （CDEX）. A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304kgd has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500keV to 3MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039MeV energy range. The half-life of76Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is 70v2〉6.4× 1022 yr （90%C.L.）. An upper limit on the effective Majorana-neutrino mass of 5.0eV has been achieved.

The CDEX-10 experiment searches for light weakly interacting massive particles, a form of dark matter, at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory, where approximately 10 kg of germanium detectors are arranged in an array and immersed in liquid nitrogen. Herein, we report on the experimental apparatus, detector characterization, and spectrum analysis of one prototype detector. Owing to the higher rise-time resolution of the CDEX-10 prototype detector as compared with CDEX-1 B, we identified the origin of an observed category of extremely fast events. For data analysis of the CDEX-10 prototype detector, we introduced and applied an improved bulk/surface event discrimination method. The results of the new method were compared to those of the CDEX-1 B spectrum. Both sets of results showed good consistency in the 0-12 ke Vee energy range, except for the 8.0 keV K-shell X-ray peak from the external copper.
