Photosystem I(PSI)is a large protein supercomplex that catalyzes the light-dependent oxidation of plastocyanin(or cytochrome c6)and the reduction of *** catalytic reaction is realized by a transmembrane electron transfer chain consisting of primary electron donor(a special chlorophyll(Chl)pair)and electron acceptors A_(0),A_(1),and three Fe_(4)S_(4) clusters,F_(X),F_(A),and F_(B).Here we report the PSI structure from a Chl d-dominated cyanobacterium Acaryochloris marina at 3.3Åresolution obtained by single-particle cryo-electron *** *** PSI exists as a trimer with three identical ***,the structure reveals a unique composition of electron transfer chain in which the primary electron acceptor A_(0) is composed of two pheophytin a rather than Chl a found in any other well-known PSI structures.A novel subunit Psa2. is observed in the *** PSI *** addition,77 Chls,13α-carotenes,two phylloquinones,three Fe-S clusters,two phosphatidyl glycerols,and one monogalactosyl-diglyceride were identified in each PSI *** results provide a structural basis for deciphering the mechanism of photosynthesis in a PSI complex with Chl d as the dominating pigments and absorbing far-red light.

A Preliminary Study of the Therapeutic Role of Human Early Fetal Aorta-derived Endothelial Progenitor Cells in Inhibiting Carotid Artery Neointimal Hyperplasia

Background： Endothelial cell damage is an important pathophysiological step of restenosis after angioplasty and stenting. Cell transplantation has great therapeutic potential for endothelial recovery. We investigated the effect of transplanting endothelial progenitor cells （EPCs） derived from human early fetal aortas in rat injured arteries. Methods： The carotid arterial endothelium of Sprague-Dawley rats was damaged by dilatation with a 1.5 F balloon catheter, and then EPCs derived from human early fetal aortas （〈14 weeks） were injected into the lumen of the injured artery in transplanted rats, with an equal volume of normal saline injected into control rats. Rats were sacrificed at 2.and 4 weeks after treatment and transplanted cells were identified by immunohistochemical staining with anti-human CD31 and anti-human mitochondria antibodies. Arterial cross-sections were analyzed by pathology, immunohistochemistry, and morphometry. Results： Green fluorescence-labeled EPCs could be seen in the endovascular surface of balloon-injured vessels after transplantation. The intimal area and intimal/medial area ratio were significantly smaller in the transplanted group than in the control （P 〈 0.05） and the residual lumen area was larger （P 〈 0.05）. After EPC transplantation, a complete vascular endothelial layer was formed, which was positive for human yon Willebrand factor after immunohistochemical staining, and immunohistochemical staining revealed many CD31- and mitochondria-positive cells in the re-endothelialized endothelium with EPC transplantation but not control treatment. Conclusion： EPCs derived from human early fetal aorta were successfully transplanted into injured vessels and might inhibit neointimal hyperplasia after vascular injury.

Phylogenetic and genetic characterization of a 2.17 clinical isolate of H7N9 virus in Guangzhou,china during the fifth epidemic wave

Pathogenic H7N9 influenza viruses continue to pose a public health concern. The H7N9 virus has caused five outbreak waves of human infections in china since 2.13. In the present study, a novel H7N9 strain(A/Guangdong/8 H32./2.17) was isolated from a female patient with severe respiratory illness during the fifth wave of the 2.17 H7N9 epidemic. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the H7N9 viruses collected during the fifth wave belong to two different lineages: the Pearl River Delta lineage and the Yangtze River Delta lineage. The novel isolate is closely related to the Pearl River Delta H7N9 viruses, which were isolated from patients in Guangdong Province. The novel H7N9 isolate has an insertion of three basic amino acids in the cleavage site of hemagglutinin(HA), which may enhance virulence in poultry. The 2.17 isolate also possesses an R2.2.K substitution in the neuraminidase(NA)protein, which confers oseltamivir resistance. This study highlights the pandemic potential of the novel H7N9 virus in mammals;thus, future characterization and surveillance is warranted.

Atmospheric chemistry research has been growing rapidly in china in the last 2. years since the concept of the“air pollution complex”was first proposed by Professor Xiaoyan TANG in *** papers published in 2.2. on air pollution(only papers included in the Web of science Core Collection database were considered),more than 2.000 papers were authored or co-authored by scientists working in *** this paper,we review a limited number of representative and significant studies on atmospheric chemistry in china in the last few years,including studies on(1)sources and emission inventories,(2.atmospheric chemical processes,(3)interactions of air pollution with meteorology,weather and climate,(4)interactions between the biosphere and atmosphere,and(5)data *** intention was not to provide a complete review of all progress made in the last few years,but rather to serve as a starting point for learning more about atmospheric chemistry research in *** advances reviewed in this paper have enabled a theoretical framework for the air pollution complex to be established,provided robust scientific support to highly successful air pollution control policies in china,and created great opportunities in education,training,and career development for many graduate students and young *** paper further highlights that developing and low-income countries that are heavily affected by air pollution can benefit from these research advances,whilst at the same time acknowledging that many challenges and opportunities still remain in atmospheric chemistry research in china,to hopefully be addressed over the next few decades.

Hydrogen storage material has been much developed recently because of its potential for proton exchange membrane （PEM） fuel cell applications. A successful solid-state reversible storage material should meet the requirements of high storage capacity, suitable thermodynamic properties, and fast adsorption and desorption kinetics. Complex hydrides, including boron hydride and alanate, ammonia borane, metal organic frameworks （MOFs）, covalent organic frameworks （COFs） and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks （ZIFs）, are remarkable hydrogen storage materials because of their advantages of high energy density and safety. This feature article focuses mainly on the thermodynamics and kinetics of these hydrogen storage materials in the past few years.

Clinical Experience in Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease with jiannao Yizhi Formula (健脑益智方) and Routine Western Medicine

Objective:To investigate the long-term therapeutic effects of the Chinese medicine jiannao Yizhi Formula(健脑益智方,JYF)in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Methods:Sixty mild-to-moderate AD participants were recruited and randomly allocated to the treatment(30 with JYF)and the control groups(30 with donepezil)for 6 months with the random *** primary outcomes were scores of Alzheimer’s Disease Rating Scale-Cognitive(ADAS-Cog)and Chinese Medicine Symptom Scale(CM-SS).The secondary outcomes were scores of Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE),Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA),and Activities of Daily Living(ADL).Safety assessments were conducted at baseline and the 6 th month of *** levels of acetylcholine(Ach),amyloid-β protein 42.Aβ42.,and the microtubule-associated protein tau(Tau)were also determined by enzyme-liked immunosorbent ***:Fifty-one participants were included in the final analyses(JYF n=2.;donepezil n=2.).Compared with baseline,both JYF and donepezil increased the MoCA and MMSE scores and decreased the ADAS-Cog and CM-SS scores(P2.and Tau(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in these variables between the two groups,which showed that JYF was not inferior to *** obviously significant changes were observed in the *** severe adverse events were observed in both ***:The effect and safety of JYF for the treatment of AD were not inferior to those of donepezil.

GRB 190530A was jointly observed by the High Energy X-ray Telescope of the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT/HE)and the Ground-Based Wide-Angle Camera network(GWAC-N)with the extremely large field of *** triggered by Insight-HXMT/HE and Fermi/GBM,we observed the optical emission of GRB 190530A,using the 30 cm telescope of GWAC(GWAC-F30)to search and locate its *** observation of the late afterglow of GRB 190530A was made with the 2.16 m telescope at Xinglong *** this paper,we make a detailed exploration of the origin of GRB *** the prompt emission,a“double-tracking”pattern is presented both for the low-energy spectral indexαand the peak energy Epin the Band function with Insight-HXMT/HE and Fermi/GBM data;the results of GRB 190530A are consistent with the Amati and Yonetoku correlations;the spectral lag(τ)versus energy(E)can be estimated withτ=-3.0±0.06+(0.17±0.03)*** synchrotron radiation can account for the origin of GRB190530A prompt emission ***αand Epof the precursor are essentially the same as that of the main prompt emission,implying that they have the same *** the afterglow,it can be described with the external forward shock model in ISM circumburst *** summary,from precursor,prompt emission to afterglow of GRB 190530A all originated from synchrotron radiation.

Lac is a natural polymer with atoxigenic, renewable, and naturally degradable characteristics. Nowadays, more and more attentions are paid to environment protection and resource conservation, so it has great significance to study the composition and application of lac. The paper summarizes the research of lac composition and emphasizes on the present research of lac resin. The applications of lac are also introduced. In addition, some suggestions are proposed, which is expected to provide some scientific references for further studies of lac.
