Natural forest ALS-TLS point cloud data registration without control points

Airborne laser scanning(ALS)and terrestrial laser scanning(TLS)has attracted attention due to their forest parameter investigation and research applications.ALS is limited to obtaining fi ne structure information below the forest canopy due to the occlusion of trees in natural forests.In contrast,TLS is unable to gather fi ne structure information about the upper canopy.To address the problem of incomplete acquisition of natural forest point cloud data by ALS and TLS on a single platform,this study proposes data registration without control points.The ALS and TLS original data were cropped according to sample plot size,and the ALS point cloud data was converted into relative coordinates with the center of the cropped data as the origin.The same feature point pairs of the ALS and TLS point cloud data were then selected to register the point cloud data.The initial registered point cloud data was fi nely and optimally registered via the iterative closest point(ICP)algorithm.The results show that the proposed method achieved highprecision registration of ALS and TLS point cloud data from two natural forest plots of Pinus yunnanensis Franch.and Picea asperata Mast.which included diff erent species and environments.An average registration accuracy of 0.06 m and 0.09 m were obtained for P.yunnanensis and P.asperata,respectively.

Serum albumin complexed with ellagic acid from pomegranate peel and its metabolite urolithin B

As one of fruit waste by-products,the pomegranate peel is rich in bioactive compounds such as ellagic acid.Ellagic acid and its main gut microbial metabolite urolithin B have been reported to exhibit numerous biological activities and widely used as dietary supplements in the past decades.Interaction of these two compounds to serum albumin(SA)might affect their metabolism,efficacy,and body distribution.The interaction of ellagic acid and urolithin B with SA was investigated and BSA interference on the anti-cancer activity of these two compounds was also evaluated.Results of spectra experiments showed that ellagic acid and urolithin B could form complexes with bovine serum albumin(BSA)and urolithin B has a higher binding force and number of binding sites than ellagic acid when forming a complex with BSA.The results of molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations suggested that ellagic acid and urolithin B tended to bind in site I rather than site II.The MTT assay results indicated that the IC_(50) value of ellagic acid decreased from 123.58μM to 55.91μM,while the IC_(50) value of urolithin B decreased from 83.67μM to 47.40μM.Ellagic acid and urolithin B can form complexes with serum albumin and the anti-cancer activity of ellagic acid and urolithin B was enhanced when combined with BSA.

Integrated satellite-terrestrial network(ISTN)has been considered a novel network architecture to achieve global three-dimensional coverage and ultra-wide area broadband access anytime and anywhere.Being a promising paradigm,cloud computing and mobile edge computing(MEC)have been identified as key technology enablers for ISTN to further improve quality of service and business continuity.However,most of the existing ISTN studies based on cloud computing and MEC regard satellite networks as relay networks,ignoring the feasibility of directly deploying cloud computing nodes and edge computing nodes on satellites.In addition,most computing tasks are transferred to cloud servers or offloaded to nearby edge servers,the layered design of integrated satellite-air-terrestrial architecture and the cloud-edge-device cooperative processing problems have not been fully considered.Therefore,different from previous works,this paper proposed a novel satellite-air-terrestrial layered architecture for cloud-edge-device collaboration,named SATCECN.Then this paper analyzes the appropriate deployment locations of cloud servers and edge servers in ISTN,and describes the processing flow of typical satellite computing tasks.For computing resource allocation problems,this paper proposed a device-edge-cloud Multi-node Cross-layer Collaboration Computing(MCCC)method to find the optimal task allo-cation strategy that minimizes the task completion delay and the weighted system energy consumption.Furthermore,the approximate optimal solutions of the optimization model are obtained by using successive convex approxi-mation algorithm,and the outstanding advantages of the proposed method in reducing system energy consumption and task execution delay are verified through experiments.Finally,some potential issues and directions for future research are highlighted.

Electromagnetic wave absorption in reduced graphene oxide functionalized with Fe3O4/Fe nanorings

We report the preparation of nanocomposites of reduced graphene oxide with embedded Fe3O4/Fe nanorings （FeNR@rGO） by chemical hydrothermal growth. We illustrate the use of these nanocomposites as novel electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. The electromagnetic wave absorption properties of the nanocomposites with different compositions were investigated. The preparation procedure and nanocomposite composition were optimized to achieve the best electromagnetic wave absorption properties. Nanocomposites with a GO：cx-Fe203 mass ratio of 1：1 prepared by annealing in HdAr for 3 h exhibited the best properties. This nanocomposite sample （thickness = 4.0 mm） showed a minimum reflectivity of -23.09 dB at 9.16 GHz. The band range was 7.4-11.3 GHz when the reflectivity was less than -10 dB and the spectrum width was up to 3.9 GHz. These figures of merit are typically of the same order of magnitude when compared to the values shown by traditional ferric oxide materials. However, FeNR@rGO can be readily applied as a microwave absorbing material because the production method we propose is highly compatible with mass production standards.

Text analysis is a popular technique for finding the most significant information from texts including semantic,emotional,and other hidden features,which became a research hotspot in the last few years.Specially,there are some text analysis tasks with judgment reports,such as analyzing the criminal process and predicting prison terms.Traditional researches on text analysis are generally based on special feature selection and ontology model generation or require legal experts to provide external knowledge.All these methods require a lot of time and labor costs.Therefore,in this paper,we use textual data such as judgment reports creatively to perform prison term prediction without external legal knowledge.We propose a framework that combines value-based rules and a fuzzy text to predict the target prison term.The procedure in our framework includes information extraction,term fuzzification,and document vector regression.We carry out experiments with real-world judgment reports and compare our model’s performance with those of ten traditional classification and regression models and two deep learning models.The results show that our model achieves competitive results compared with other models as evaluated by the RMSE and R-squared metrics.Finally,we implement a prototype system with a user-friendly GUI that can be used to predict prison terms according to the legal text inputted by the user.

In this work, we developed a novel triboelectricity-assisted polymer-free method for the transfer of large-area chemical vapor deposited graphene films. With the assistance of electrostatic forces from friction-generated charges, graphene sheets were successfully transferred from copper foils to flexible polymer substrates. Characterization results confirmed the presence of high quality graphene with less defects and contaminations, compared to graphene transferred by conventional poly（methyl rnethacrylate）-mediated processes. In addition, the graphene samples possessed outstanding electrical transport capabilities and mechanical stability, when studied as electron transfer matrixes in graphene/ZnO hybrid flexible photodetectors. Our results showed a broad application potential for this transfer method in future flexible electronics and optoelectronics.

The enhanced performance of piezoelectric nanogenerator via suppressing screening effect with Au particles/ZnO nanoarrays Schottky junction

This paper describes a novel strategy to weaken the piezopotential screening effect by forming Schottky junctions on the ZnO surface through the introduction of Au particles onto the surface. With this approach, the piezoelectric-energyconversion performance was greatly enhanced. The output voltage and current density of the Au@ZnO nanoarray-based piezoelectric nanogenerator reached 2 V and 1 μA/cm^2, respectively, 10 times higher than the output of pristine ZnO nanoarray-based piezoelectric nanogenerators. We attribute this enhancement to dramatic suppression of the screening effect due to the decreased carrier concentration, as determined by scanning Kelvin probe microscope measurements and impedance analysis. The lowered capacitance of the Au@ZnO nanoarraybased piezoelectric nanogenerator also contributes to the improved output. This work provides a novel method to enhance the performance of piezoelectric nanogenerators and possibly extends to piezotronics and piezophototronics.

Determination of crop and soil evaporation coefficients for estimating evapotranspiration in a paddy field

Accurate estimation of evapotranspiration is important in efficient water management for improving water use efficiency.In order to obtain evapotranspiration and evaporation beneath the canopy using the Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO)method,pan evaporation was used instead of reference evapotranspiration calculated by the Penman-Monteith equation with detailed meteorological data.The total crop coefficient and soil evaporation coefficient were determined using actual measured daytime evapotranspiration and evaporation by the Bowen ratio energy balance and lysimeter,respectively,in a rice paddy field in Japan.The average evapotranspiration was 5.3 mm/d,4.4 mm/d,7.4 mm/d and 6.3 mm/d and crop coefficient was 0.79,1.18,1.01 and 0.86 for the initial stage,development stage,middle-season stage and late-season stage,respectively.The evaporation was low and almost constant with an average value around 0.77 mm/d when the leaf area index(LAI)reached 3.The proposed average crop coefficients for different growing stages were applied to estimate daytime evapotranspiration and found suitable.A simple soil water evaporation coefficient model was developed using leaf area index for practical use and it was found that it could accurately estimate evaporation.

Considering the complex constraint between operations in nonstandard job shop scheduling problem （NJSSP）, critical path of job manufacturing tree is determined according to priority scheduling function constructed. Operations are divided into dependent operations and independent operations with the idea of subsection, and corresponding scheduling strategy is put forward according to operation characteristic in the segment and the complementarities of identical function machines. Forward greedy rule is adopted mainly for dependent operations to make operations arranged in the right position of machine selected, then each operation can be processed as early as possible, and the total processing time of job can be shortened as much as possible. For independent operations optimum scheduling rule is adopted mainly, the inserting position of operations will be determined according to the gap that the processing time of operations is subtracted from idle time of machine, and the operation will be inserted in the position with minimal gap. Experiments show, under the same conditions, the result that operations are scheduled according to the object function constructed, and the scheduling strategy adopted is better than the result that operations are scheduled according to efficiency scheduling algorithm.
