Agents with robust ultraviolet(UV)absorption capabilities play a vital role in safeguarding organisms and inorganic materials from UV ***,the synthetic procedures towards these UV absorbers are usually lengthy and complicated,accompanied by undesirable side reactions and the generation of toxic *** nature,allomelanin,a class of melanins variant found in melanized fungi near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant,plays crucial roles in the cell wall of melanized fungi,offering resistance to harsh external environments and promising UV resistance ***,allomelanin can be rapidly biosynthesized via the polymerization of 1.8-dihydroxynaphthalene in presence of enzymes in *** by this,we report here a green enzymatic polymerization strategy to efficiently and eco-friendly synthesize polydihydroxynaphthalene(PDHN)-based artificial allomelanin nanoparticles(NPs)with interesting *** calculations and experimental results demonstrated that the PDHN NPs exhibited excellent UVabsorption capacity,surpassing another widely used artificial melanin,polydopamine(PDA).Moreover,the light absorption mechanism of PDHN NPs was systematically elucidated for the first ***,the PDHN NPs were incorporated with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)to create an anti-aging composite film with significantly enhanced UV shielding *** potential of these composite films in safeguarding plants from UV damage was meticulously ***,these PDHN NPs were first found to produce hydroxyl radicals(·OH)under UV irradiation,offering antibacterial properties that expand their potential applications.

Rapid progress in high-throughput biotechnologies (e.g. microarrays) and exponential accumulation of gene functional knowledge makes it promising for systematic understanding of complex human diseases at the functional modules level. Current modular categorizations can be defined and selected more specifically and precisely in terms of both biological processes and cellular locations, aiming at uncovering the modular molecular networks highly relevant to cancers. Based on Gene Ontology, we identifed the functional modules enriched with differentially expressed genes and characterized by biological processes and specific cellular locations. Then, according to the ranking of the disease discriminating abilities of the pre-selected functional modules, we further defined and filtered signature modules which have higher relevance to the cancer under study. Applications of the proposed method to the analysis of a prostate cancer dataset revealed insightful biological modules.

A red-emitting phosphor Ca_(2.91.Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) with partial Al^(3+)/P^(5+) substitution on Si^(4+) was synthesized via a simple solid-state method,and the effects of the introduction of the M^(3+/5+)(M=Al,P)ions on the crystal structure and photoluminescence performance of Ca_(2.91.Si_(2−x)M_(x)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors were *** X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results revealed that the structure of Ca_(3)Si_(2)O_(7) remained the same after the introduction of Al^(3+) and P^(5+) *** characteristic emission of Eu^(3+)-doped Ca_(3)Si_(2−x)M_(x)O_(7) phosphors exhibited two main peaks at 61. nm(red)and 593 nm(orange)under excitation at 394 nm,which originated from the^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2)and^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1. electron transitions of Eu^(3+) *** the partial substitution of Al^(3+) and P^(5+),the red emission intensities of the Ca_(2.91.Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors were significantly enhanced by 1.88-and 1.42-fold,respectively,which is attributed to the crystal-field effect around Eu^(3+).Meanwhile,the luminescence intensities of the Ca_(2.91.Si_(1.96)Al_(0.04)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) and Ca_(2.91.Si_(1.94)P_(0.06)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors at 21.℃ were 79.36%and 77.53%of those at 30°C,respectively,indicating their excellent thermal ***,the as-prepared Ca_(2.91.Si_(1.96)Al_(0.04)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+)and Ca_(2.91.Si_(1.94)P_(0.06)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) red-emitting phosphors were combined with a near-ultraviolet chip of 395 nm to fabricate red-light-emitting diode(LED)and white(w)-LED devices with excellent chromaticity *** summary,Al^(3+)/P^(5+)-substituted Ca_(2.91.Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) can serve as red-emitting phosphors for applications in w-LEDs.

Surface modification of microporous bone scaffolds using nanoparticles has been broadly studied in bone tissue *** at improving vascularized bone regeneration(VBR),zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8)was encapsulated with dimethyloxallyl glycine(DMOG)and the drug-carrying nanoparticles(D@Z)could be uniformly coated onto the surface of the bone *** osteogenic and angiogenic actions of D@Z are closely correlated with the amount of slowly released DMOG,and in general,exhibited a favorable ***,the D7.5@Z group,which showed the greatest capacity to induce in vitro osteogenesis-angiogenesis coupling,was utilized for surface modification of the bone *** processes including phosphate-containing compound metabolic process,cell differentiation,cell proliferation and cell motility might contribute to enhanced ability to induce VBR by the coated scaffold and signaling pathways such as Rap1.Ras,phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)signaling pathways participated in these ***,as depicted by in vitro real time-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),Western blot(WB)and in vivo cranial bone defect model,the microporous scaffold coated with nano-D7.5@Z greatly promoted *** conclude,nano-D@Z has significant promise for practical application in modification of microporous bone scaffolds to enhance VBR,and DMOG loading quantity has a beneficial influence on D@Z to improve osteogenesis-angiogenesis coupling.

AIM:To investigate whether the clinicopathologic features of infantile hemangioendothelioma(IHE) of the liver in a Chinese population are similar to the features observed in other ***:The clinical data,radiological findings,histopathological changes and outcome of 1. cases of IHE diagnosed by the department of Pathology,West{1. Binuclear manganese complex [(bipy)2Mn2(μ-O)(μ-Ac)2(H2O)2](CIO4)2 was synthesized by the reaction of MnAc3 · 2H2O with 2,2’-bipyridine in the HAc-NaAc buffer (pH = 4.0). X-ray diffraction result for the single crystal shows that the crystal is monoclinic, space group C2/C, with a = 3.4082(7), 6 = 0.8644(2), c= 2.1.4 9(4) nm,β= 1.5.2°, V =6.1.6(2) nm3, Z= 8. There are two very strong peaks of UV-Vis spectrum in the range of 400-600 nm, which are similar to those of Mn catalase and Mn ribonuleotide reductase extracted from organisms. Cyclic voltammogram shows that the complex in CH3CN undergoes quasi-reversible one-electron reduction and oxidation at E1.2=1.1.V.

Applicability of cumulus convective parameter schemes in RegCM3 to the rainfall over the Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region

To test the applicability of cumulus convective parameter schemes in RegCM3 to the rainfall over the Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region(LRGR),the May and the summer rainfalls from 1.82 to 2001.were simulated with different cumulus convective parameter schemes in *** results of quantitative analysis contrasting simulation rainfall with observational one indicate that Fritsch-Chappell cumulus convective parameter scheme has the best simulation ability to the 20-year total May rainfall over LRGR, and the simulation ability of Anthes-Kuo cumulus convective parameter scheme takes the second place. Anthes-Kuo cumulus convective parameter scheme has the best simulation ability to the 20-year total summer rainfall over LRGR,and the simulation ability of Fritach-Chappell gets the second *** total rainfall simulated over LRGR is less than the observational *** result of simulating intersn- nual variation of May and summer rainfalls over LRGR is almost the same as that of simulating 20-year total *** Anthes-Kuo and the Fritsch-Chappell cumulus convective parameter schemes adapt to describing cumulus convective process in May end summer over LRGR.
