Objective:To evaluate the effects of Capsosiphon fulvescens(***)ethanolic extract on inflammation in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced RAW296.7 ***:The protective effects of *** ethanolic extract on LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages were assessed using biochemical analysis,including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction,and Western blot *** examine reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,flow cytometry analysis,and immunofluorescence staining were ***,the modulatory effect of *** ethanolic extract on NF-κB activation was ***:*** ethanolic extract significantly attenuated LPS-induced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and notably reduced the secretion and mRNA levels of LPS-mediated matrix *** addition,*** ethanolic extract decreased ROS production and suppressed the TLR4/NF-κB signaling ***:*** ethanolic extract alleviates inflammation as well as oxidative stress by modulating the TLR4/NF-κB signaling in LPS-induced RAW264.7 *** can be used as a potential therapeutic agent to suppress inflammation and oxidative stress-associated diseases.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of an aqueous extract of Protaetia brevitarsis(AEPB)on the growth of zebrafish and preosteoblast MC3T3-E1 ***:The effects of AEPB on the linear growth and the expression of growth-related genes in zebrafish and MC3T3-E1 cells were assessed using various molecular ***,the involvement of the mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)pathway in AEPB-induced growth was investigated by employing the mTOR inhibitor ***:AEPB administration led to a significant and dose-dependent increase in zebrafish larvae growth over ***,AEPB treatment upregulated the expression of growth hormone-1(GH-1),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),growth hormone receptor-1(GHR-1),and cholecystokinin-a(CCKA)in ***,AEPB stimulated the expression and release of IGF-1 and accelerated mTOR expression in MC3T3-E1 *** addition,rapamycin hindered AEPB-induced linear growth in zebrafish larvae and suppressed the expression of growth-promoting genes by inhibiting mTOR ***:AEPB shows growth-promoting effects by upregulating growth-related genes and activating the mTOR signaling *** investigations are warranted to elucidate its mechanisms of action and explore its potential application in the development of growth-enhancing supplements for various purposes.

Honokiol attenuates oxidative stress-induced cytotoxicity in human keratinocytes via activating AMPK signaling

Objective:To investigate the effect of honokiol on oxidative damage in HaCaT human ***:HaCaT cells were exposed to hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)),following pretreatment with various concentrations of *** alleviating effects of honokiol on HaCaT cell viability and cell death,reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,DNA damage,mitochondrial dynamics,and inhibition of adenosine triphoaphate production against H_(2)O_(2)were *** blotting analysis was used to analyze the expression levels of specific ***:Honokiol suppressed H_(2)O_(2)-induced cytotoxicity and DNA damage by blocking abnormal ROS *** also prevented apoptosis by inhibiting loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria into the cytosol,decreasing the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio,and reducing the activity of caspase-3 in H_(2)O_(2)-stimulated HaCaT *** addition,honokiol attenuated H_(2)O_(2)-induced reduction of adenosine triphosphate content,and activation of AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)was markedly promoted by honokiol in H_(2)O_(2)-stimulated ***,the anti-apoptosis and anti-proliferative activity of honokiol against H_(2)O_(2)was further enhanced by adding an activator of AMPK,indicating that honokiol activated AMPK in HaCaT keratinocytes to protect against oxidative ***:The present results indicate that honokiol may be useful as a potential therapeutic agent against various oxidative stress-related skin diseases.

Objective:To investigate the effect of an aqueous extract of Protaetia brevitarsis(AEPB)on osteogenesis using preosteoblast MC3T3-E1 cells and zebrafish ***:Flow cytometric analysis was used to measure the *** phosphatase activity was detetmined using p-nitrophenyl phosphate as a *** deposition was detected using alizarin red staining along with osteogenic marker expression in preosteoblast MC3T3E1 *** addition,vertebral formation in zebrafish larvae was detected using calcein staining and osteogenic gene ***:AEPB highly promoted the expression of osteogenic markers including runt-related transcription factor 2,osterix,and alkaline phosphatase,along with elevated levels of mineralization in MC3T3-E1 ***,AEPB accelerated vertebral formation in zebrafish larvae accompanied by upregulated expression of osteogenic ***535,an inhibitor of Wnt/β-catenin,suppressed AEPB-induced osteogenic gene expression and vertebral formation,indicating that AEPB stimulates osteogenesis by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling ***:AEPB stimulates osteoblast differentiation and bone formation by activatingβ-***,AEPB is a promising material that induces osteogenesis,and is useful for the treatment of bone resorption diseases.

Swarm robot systems are an important application of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles on water *** monitoring natural environments and conducting security activities within a certain range using a surface vehicle,the swarm robot system is more efficient than the operation of a single object as the former can reduce cost and save *** is necessary to detect adjacent surface obstacles robustly to operate a cluster of unmanned surface *** this purpose,a LiDAR(light detection and ranging)sensor is used as it can simultaneously obtain 3D information for all directions,relatively robustly and accurately,irrespective of the surrounding environmental *** the GPS(global-positioning-system)error range exists,obtaining measurements of the surface-vessel position can still ensure stability during platoon *** this study,a three-layer convolutional neural network is applied to classify types of surface *** aim of this approach is to redefine the sparse 3D point cloud data as 2D image data with a connotative meaning and subsequently utilize this transformed data for object classification ***,we have proposed a descriptor that converts the 3D point cloud data into 2D image *** use this descriptor effectively,it is necessary to perform a clustering operation that separates the point clouds for each *** developed voxel-based clustering for the point cloud ***,using the descriptor,3D point cloud data can be converted into a 2D feature image,and the converted 2D image is provided as an input value to the *** intend to verify the validity of the proposed 3D point cloud feature descriptor by using experimental data in the ***,we explore the feasibility of real-time object classification within this framework.

Inclusive quasielastic neutrino-nucleus scattering with energy density functional nuclear models

In this study,we calculated the inclusive charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering from ^(40)Ar in the quasielastic *** explore the effect of uncertainties stemming from the nuclear structure,we used the KIDS(Korea-IBS-Daegu-SKKU)nuclear energy density functional and Skyrme force models,namely SLy4,SkI3,and *** models were selected to have distinct behavior in terms of the density dependence of the symmetry energy and the effective mass of the *** the charged-current neutrino scattering,the single-and double-differential cross sections were calculated for various *** cross sections are reported as a function of the incident neutrino *** theoretical cross sections were compared with experimental data,and the roles of the effective mass and symmetry energy were investigated in terms of charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering.

Objective:To evaluate whether the methanol extract of Codium fragile(MECF) regulates tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)-induced invasion of human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells by suppressing matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9).Methods:Reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and western blot analysis were performed to analyze the expression of MMP-9 and nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB) subunits,p65 and p50,and IκB in MDA-MB-231 cells.3-(4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay was used for cell ***-9 activity and invasion were measured by gelatin zymography and a matrigel invasion assay,***- κB activity was measured by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay and luciferase ***:MECF had no effects on cell viability up to a concentration of 100 μg/mL in human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells regardless of the presence of TNF-α.MDA-MB-231 cells that were stimulated with TNF-α showed a marked increase of invasion compared to the untreated control,whereas pretreatment with MECF downregulated the TNF-α-induced invasion of MDA-MB-231 ***,zymography,western blot analysis,and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) confirmed that MECF decreased TNF-α-induced MMP-9 expression and activity which is a key regulator for cancer *** to an electrophoretic morbidity shift assay,pretreatment with MECF in MDA-MB-231 cells significantly decreased the TNF-α-induced DNA-binding activity of nuclear factor- κB(NF- κB),which is an important transcription factor for regulating cancer invasion-related genes such as ***,treatment with MECF sustained the expression of p65 and p50 in response to TNF-α in the cytosolic *** luciferase assay demonstrated that MECF attenuated TNF-α-induced NF- κB luciferase ***:MECF exhibited its antiinvasive capability by downregulating TNF-α-induced MMP-9 expression,resulting from the suppression of NF- κB activi

Ethanol extract of Kalopanax septemlobus leaf inhibits HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation via inducing cell cycle arrest at G_1 phase

Objective:To investigate the effects of an ethanol extract of Kalopanax septemlobus(Thunb.)***(EEKS) on cell proliferation in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells and its mechanisms of ***:Cells were treated with EEKS and subsequently analyzed for cell proliferation and flow cytometry *** of cell cycle regulators were determined by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction analysis and Western blotting,and activation of eyclin-associaled kinases studied using kinase ***:The EEKS suppressed cell proliferation in both HepG2 and Hep3 B cells,but showed a more sensitive anli-proliferative activity in HepG2 *** cytometry analysis revealed an association between the growth inhibitory effect of EEKS and with G_1 phase cell cycle arrest in HepG2 cells,along with the dephosphorylation of retinoblastoma protein(pRB) and enhanced binding of pRB with the E2 F transcription factor family *** with EEKS also increased the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK) inhibitors,such as p21WAF1/CIP1 and *** any noticeable changes in G_1 cyclins and CDKs(except for a slight decrease in CDK4).Treatment of HepG2 cells with EEKS also increased the binding of p21 and p27 with CDK4 and *** was paralleled by a marked decrease in the cyclin D- and cyclin E-associated kinase ***:Overall,our findings suggest that EEKS may be an effective treatment for liver cancer through suppression of cancer cell proliferation via G_1,cell cycle arrest Further studies arc required to identify the active compounds in EEKS.
