AIM:To evaluate the relationship among Helicobacter pylori(***) infection,CagA status,and dietary factors with RUNX3 promoter ***:Gastric cancer tissue samples were collected from 184 South Korean *** patients were interviewed following a semi-quantitative food frequency *** average frequencies of intake and portion sizes of 89 common food items were documented,and total intakes of calories,nutrients,vitamins,and minerals were calculated for each *** was extracted from gastric cancer tissue samples,and amplification of the HSP60 gene was performed to detect *** *** polymerase chain reaction(PCR) was used to detect the presence of the CagA ***3 gene expression was measured by reverse transcription-PCR,and RUNX3 methylation status was evaluated by methylation-specific *** odds ratios(ORs) and 95%CI associated with RUNX3 promoter hypermethylation status were estimated for each of the food groups,lifestyle factors,and the interaction between dietary and lifestyle factors with CagA status of *** ***:Overall,164 patients(89.1%) were positive for *** DNA,with the CagA gene detected in 59(36%) of these ***-positive *** all,106(57.6%) patients with gastric cancer demonstrated CpG island hypermethylation at the RUNX3 ***3 expression was undetectable in 52(43.7%) of the 119 gastric cancer tissues sampled.A high consumption of eggs may increase the risk of RUNX3 methylation in gastric cancer patients,having a mean OR of 2.15(range,1.14-4.08).A significantly increased OR of 4.28(range,1.19-15.49) was observed with a high consumption of nuts in patients with CagA-positive *** *** intakes of carbohydrate,vitamin B1,and vitamin E may decrease the risk of RUNX3 methylation in gastric cancer tissue,particularly in CagA-or ***-negative infection,with OR of 0.41(0.19-0.90),0.42(0.20-0.89),and 0.29(0.13-0.62),respectively.A high consumpt

Background The benefit of statin use after acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction （STEMI） has been well established, however, the influence of the timing of statin administration has not been elucidated. The objective of this study focused on early clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）. Methods This analysis of the Korea Working Group on Myocardial Infarction registry （KorMI） study included 3,584 STEMI patients （mean age, 63 ±13 years;male, 2,684, 74.9%） undergoing PCI from January 2008 to June 2009. Rates of major adverse cardiac events （MACE：all-cause death, recurrent MI, and target lesion revascularization） were compared among patients grouped according to statin therapy timing：I, both during and after hospitalization （n=2,653, 74%）;II, only during hospita-lization （n=309, 8.6%）;III, only after discharge （n=157, 4.4%）;and IV, no statin therapy （n=465, 13%）. Mean follow-up duration was 234 ± 113 days. Results Multivariate factors of statin use during hospitalization included prior statin use, multiple diseased vessels, final thrombolysis in myocardial infarction flow grade III, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level. At 6-month follow-up, groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ had the highest MACE rates （2.3%, 3.9%, 5.1%, and 4.9%for groups I-IV, respectively, P=0.004）. After adjusting for confounders, groups Ⅱ-Ⅳ had a higher MACE risk than group Ⅰ [hazard ratio （HR）：3.20, 95%confidence interval （95%CI）：1.31-7.86, P=0.011;HR：3.84, 95%CI：1.47-10.02, P=0.006;and HR：3.17, 95%CI：1.59-6.40, P=0.001;respectively]. Conclusions This study, based on the national registry database, shows early and continuous statin therapy improvs early outcomes of STEMI patients after PCI in real-world clinical prac-tice.

AIM:To investigate the predictive factors of selfexpandable metallic stent patency after stent placement in patients with inoperable malignant gastroduodenal obstruction. METHODS:A total of 116 patients underwent stent placements for inoperable malignant gastroduodenal obstruction at a tertiary academic center. Clinical success was defined as acceptable decompression of the obstructive lesion within the malignant gastroduodenal neoplasm. We evaluated patient comorbidities and clinical statuses using the World Health Organization's scoring system and categorized patient responses to chemotherapy using the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors criteria. We analyzed the relationships between possible predictive factors and stent patency. RESULTS:Self-expandable metallic stent placement was technically successful in all patients(100%),and the clinical success rate was 84.2%. In a multivariate Cox proportional hazards model,carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) levels were correlated with a reduction in stent patency [P = 0.006; adjusted hazard ratio(a HR)= 2.92,95%CI:1.36-6.25]. Palliative chemotherapy was statistically associated with an increase in stent patency(P = 0.009; a HR = 0.27,95%CI:0.10-0.72).CONCLUSION:CEA levels can easily be measured at the time of stent placement and may help clinicians to predict stent patency and determine the appropriate stent procedure.

Objective: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is very common and leading cause of death due to this procedure. The objective of this study was to investigate the incidence and clinical characteristics of DVT after TKA with DVT chemoprophylaxis. Methods: This is a prospective cohort study in single institution. The patients received postoperative DVT chemoprophylaxis (low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) or Fondaparinux), followed by duplex ultrasonography to check for DVT 1 - 2 weeks after TKA. The clinical characteristics were summarized and analysed by chi-square test and regression analysis. Results: Five hundred and thirty four patients were enrolled from January 2007 to December 2010. DVT chemoprophylaxis was administered in 524 (98.1%) of the 534 patients. DVT occurred in 9 subjects (1.69%);8 subjects had DVT in the leg, and 1 subject had a pulmonary embolism. Among them, asymptomatic DVT was observed in 5 patients (0.94%). Univariate analysis showed that surgical methods (revision, P = 0.0007), body mass index (BMI) (>25, P = 0.0028), low platelet count (less than 150 × 103, P = 0.0219), time in the intensive care unit (ICU) (P < 0.0001), no administration of prophylactic LMWH (P = 0.0392), and a history of DVT (P < 0.0001) were significant risk factors of DVT. Conclusions: The incidence of DVT was 1.69% after TKA with prophylactic antithrombotic therapy. Revision surgery, BMI, low platelet count, time in ICU, absence of prophylactic LMWH and history of DVT were significant risk factors of DVT.

色彩通过其独特的图像、功能和情感成为历史和地区特色的象征。对色彩无意义的使用所导致的视觉压力和低质量生活,阻碍了高质量设计的产生,降低了客户的满意度。虽然色彩有助于以相对较小的成本提高工业竞争力,但没有色彩标准就无法控制其有效性和经济性。为了最大程度地减少色彩的使用数量,色彩应以恰如其分的方式表现出来,并反映基于标准化色彩语言的决策。另外,由于与人类情感息息相关,色彩标准应该是可变并且主观的。因此,色彩标准包含了为改善环境对色彩定量和衡量的全部过程,但在体现各地区环境、个性以及特色方面,色彩标准的掌握尚存在不足之处。
