Anion-immobilized solid composite electrolytes based on metal-organic frameworks and superacid ZrO_(2) fillers for high-performance all solid-state lithium metal batteries

Anion-immobilized solid composite electrolytes(SCEs)are important to restrain the propagation of lithium dendrites for all solid-state lithium metal batteries(ASSLMBs).Herein,a novel SCEs based on metal-organic frameworks(MOFs,UiO-66-NH_(2))and superacid ZrO_(2)(S-ZrO_(2))fillers are proposed,and the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),thermo-gravimetric analyzer(TGA)and some other electrochemical ***-NH_(2) groups of UiO-66-NH_(2) combines with F atoms of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)chains by hydrogen bonds,leading to a high electrochemical stability window of 5 *** to the incorporation of UiO-66-NH_(2) and S-ZrO_(2) in PVDF-HFP polymer,the open metal sites of MOFs and acid surfaces of S-ZrO_(2) can immobilize anions by strong Lewis acid-base interaction,which enhances the effect of immobilization anions,achieving a high Li-ion transference number(t_(+))of 0.72,and acquiring a high ionic conductivity of 1.05×10^(-4) S·cm^(-1) at 60℃.The symmetrical Li/Li cells with the anion-immobilized SCEs may steadily operate for over 600 h at 0.05 mA·cm^(-2) without the shortcircuit ***,the solid composite Li/LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cell with the anion-immobilized SCEs shows a superior discharge specific capacity of 158 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.2 *** results illustrate that the anion-immobilized SCEs are one of the most promising choices to optimize the performances of ASSLMBs.

Isolation and Manipulation of Quantitative Trait Loci for Disease Resistance in Rice Using a Candidate Gene Approach

Bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae and fungal blast caused by Magnaporthe grisea result in heavy production losses in rice, a main staple food for approximately 50% of the world＇s population. Application of host resistance to these pathogens is the most economical and environment-friendly approach to solve this problem. Quantitative trait loci （QTLs） controlling quantitative resistance are valuable sources for broad-spectrum and durable disease resistance. Although large numbers of QTLs for bacterial blight and blast resistance have been identified, these sources have not been used effectively in rice improvement because of the complex genetic control of quantitative resistance and because the genes underlying resistance QTLs are unknown. To isolate disease resistance QTLs, we established a candidate gene strategy that integrates linkage map, expression profile, and functional complementation analyses. This strategy has proven to be applicable for identifying the genes underlying minor resistance QTLs in rice-Xoo and rice-M, grisea systems and it may also help to shed light on disease resistance QTLs of other cereals. Our results also suggest that a single minor QTL can be used in rice improvement by modulating the expression of the gene underlying the QTL. Pyramiding two or three minor QTL genes, whose expression can be managed and that function in different defense signal transduction pathways, may allow the breeding of rice cultivars that are highly resistant to bacterial blight and blast.

Congenital heart disease(CHD)is the most common type of birth defect in *** to a national study,the overall prevalences of CHD and critical CHD were 8.98 per 1000 live births and 1.46 per 1000 live births,respectively,in China[1].CHD,particularly critical CHD,not only seri-ously affects the quality of life of patients and their family,but creates huge economic and mental burdens on the fam-ily and on society as a whole[2].Early diagnosis of CHD is imperative for early intervention and *** early diagnosis of CHD,CHD screening in all newborns was first initiated in Shanghai,China on June 1,2016[3].Since July 30,2018,the China National Health Commission initiated newborn screening program for CHD;"double index meth-ods"(cardiac auscultation plus pulse oximetry)were used to screen CHD for newborns 6 hours and 72 hours after birth.

Electronic structural engineering of bimetallic Bi-Cu alloying nanosheet for highly-efficient CO_(2) electroreduction and Zn-CO_(2) batteries

Regulating the electronic structure of Bi-based materials by alloying engineering is promising to promote the electrocatalytic activity,but it remains some challenges to be *** this study,a facile electrochemical co-deposition strategy is developed to synthesize the bimetallic Bi_(9)Cu_(1) alloy nanosheet on carbon cloth(Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC),which represents a novel self-supporting electrode for the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).The Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC catalyst has achieved a remarkable catalytic performance with high Faradaic efficiencies(FE)of over 90%for formate at wide potentials from-0.7 to-1.2 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Moreover,the reversible Zn-CO_(2) battery can be driven by Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC cathode with a largest power density of 1.4 mW·cm^(-2),and superior operating *** systematic characterizations and electrochemical results confirm that the improved catalytic active sites,the enhanced mass/charge transport and the optimal reaction kinetics of Bi nanosheet are realized for CO_(2)RR by Cu *** situ attenuated total reflection infrared(ATR-IR)result confirms the bimetallic Bi-Cu active sites prefer to follow the^(*)OCHO conversion *** density functional theory(DFT)calculations suggest that the Cu alloying contributes to the increased density of states near the Fermi surface of Bi and the optimized adsorption of^(*)OCHO intermediates on the Bi sites,resulting in the excellent catalytic performance.

Electroacupuncture Promotes Functional Recovery after Facial Nerve Injury in Rats by Regulating Autophagy via GDNF and PI3K/m TOR Signaling Pathway

Objective:To explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture(EA) in promoting recovery of the facial function with the involvement of autophagy,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF),and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) signaling ***:Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly allocated into the control,sham-operated,facial nerve injury(FNI),EA,EA+3-methyladenine(3-MA),and EA+GDNF antagonist groups using a random number table,with 12 rats in each *** FNI rat model was established with facial nerve crushing *** intervention was conducted at Dicang(ST 4),Jiache(ST 6),Yifeng(SJ 17),and Hegu(LI 4) acupoints for 2 *** Simone’s 10-Point Scale was utilized to monitor the recovery of facial *** histopathological evaluation of facial nerves was performed using hematoxylin-eosin(HE) *** levels of Beclin-1,light chain 3(LC3),and P62 were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC),immunofluorescence,and reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction,***,IHC was also used to detect the levels of GDNF,Rai,PI3K,and ***:The facial functional scores were significantly increased in the EA group than the FNI group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).HE staining showed nerve axons and myelin sheaths,which were destroyed immediately after the injury,were recovered with EA *** expressions of Beclin-1 and LC3 were significantly elevated and the expression of P62 was markedly reduced in FNI rats(P<0.01);however,EA treatment reversed these abnormal changes(P<0.01).Meanwhile,EA stimulation significantly increased the levels of GDNF,Rai,PI3K,and mTOR(P<0.01).After exogenous administration with autophagy inhibitor 3-MA or GDNF antagonist,the repair effect of EA on facial function was attenuated(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusions:EA could promote the recovery of facial function and repair the facial nerve damages in a rat model of *** may exert this neuroreparative effect through

NFXL1 functions as a transcriptional activator required for thermotolerance at reproductive stage in Arabidopsis

Plants are highly susceptible to abiotic stresses,particularly heat stress during the reproductive ***,the specific molecular mechanisms underlying this sensitivity remain largely *** the current study,we demonstrate that the Nuclear Transcription Factor,X-box Binding Protein 1-Like 1(NFXL1),directly regulates the expression of DEHYDRATION-RESPONSIVE ELEMENT-BINDING PROTEIN 2A(DREB2A),which is crucial for reproductive thermotolerance in ***1 is upregulated by heat stress,and its mutation leads to a reduction in silique length(seed number)under heat stress ***-Seq analysis reveals that NFXL1 has a global impact on the expression of heat stress responsive genes,including DREB2A,Heat Shock Factor A3(HSFA3)and Heat Shock Protein 17.6(HSP17.6)in flower ***,NFXL1 is enriched in the promoter region of DREB2A,but not of either HSFA3 or *** experiments using electrophoretic mobility shift assay have confirmed that NFXL1 directly binds to the DNA fragment derived from the DREB2A ***,effector-reporter assays have shown that NFXL1 activates the DREB2A *** DREB2A mutants are also heat stress sensitive at the reproductive stage,and DEREB2A is epistatic to NFXL1 in regulating thermotolerance in flower *** is known that HSFA3,a direct target of DREB2A,regulates the expression of heat shock proteins genes under heat stress ***,our findings establish NFXL1 as a critical upstream regulator of DREB2A in the transcriptional cassette responsible for heat stress responses required for reproductive thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.

In this paper,we consider the clustering of bivariate functional data where each random surface consists of a set of curves recorded repeatedly for each *** k-centres surface clustering method based on marginal functional principal component analysis is proposed for the bivariate functional data,and a novel clustering criterion is presented where both the random surface and its partial derivative function in two directions are *** addition,we also consider two other clustering methods,k-centres surface clustering methods based on product functional principal component analysis or double functional principal component *** results indicate that the proposed methods have a nice performance in terms of both the correct classification rate and the adjusted rand *** approaches are further illustrated through empirical analysis of human mortality data.

To the Editor:We read with great interest the article by Schulze et ***“Robotic surgery and liver transplantation:A single-center experience of 501 robotic donor hepatectomies”[1].It is the first single-center report including over 500 fully robotic donor *** the donors,the overall complication rate was 6.4%(n=32).Postoperative self-limiting bleeding(0.4%)and bile leakage from the resection plane(1.8%)were rare.
