Edible insects have been attracting significant attention not only for their nutritional superiority but also for their excellent bio-functional *** this study,the apoptotic protective effects of water-soluble protein(WPB)and salt-soluble protein(SPB)extracts derived from Protaetia brevitarsis against hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))-induced oxidative stress in C2C12 cells were *** and SPB were confirmed to exhibit radical scavenging and ferric-ion reducing *** addition,WPB and SPB treatments effectively restored the decreased cell viability of the C2C12 cells induced by H2O2 treatment,and showcased protective effects against apoptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction by regulating the expressions of pro-and anti-apoptotic ***,our data indicated that protein extracts from Protaetia brevitarsis could be beneficial for the prevention and treatment of diseases associated with apoptosis induced by oxidative stress.

In this study,Tteokgalbi,a meat product,was prepared with edible insect larvae extracts and its antioxidant,physiochemical,and microbial properties were evaluated during refrigerated *** prepared with 2%*** and 2%*** showed the highest radical-scavenging activity and metal-chelating activity,but the lowest thiobarbituric acid reactive substance(TBARS)value,among the treatments(P<0.05).In addition,those antioxidant activities were the lowest and the TBARS value was the highest in control Tteokgalbi(P<0.05)during all storage *** prepared with 2%*** showed the highest brownness index,pH,and cooking yield,but the lowest shear force value(P<0.05).During all storage days,the total aerobic bacteria level did not differ significantly among the *** conclusion,*** extracts(2%)were effective as antioxidants,inhibiting lipid oxidation,and improving the quality properties of Tteokgalbi,without negatively affecting microbial *** results confirmed that the edible insect extracts have industrial value as a food additive.

The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum thunbergii(STAC)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAC significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an HFD-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAC and purified STAF3 from Sargassum thunbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

The exposure patterns of pest control and disinfection workers have changed after the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak,but the health risks of chemical exposure have not been *** identified these workers’chemical exposure patterns and risks before and after the COVID-19 *** used data conducted between 2018(pre-pandemic)and 2021(post-pandemic)from three-year cross-sectional surveys on pest control and disinfection *** and dermal exposure concentrations were estimated using equations based on a biocidal product risk assessment model from the Korean National Institute of Environmental *** non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks of chemicals were calculated using the United States Environmental Protection Agency risk assessment *** found that the annual work frequency(50^(th)percentile)of foggers using disinfectants increased the most among all the work types,from 140 uses/year to 176 uses/year after the COVID-19 ***,all chemicals’non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks increased regardless of exposure *** the worst scenario(95^(th)percentile),the margin of exposure for citric acid,benzethonium chloride,benzyl-C12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides,and sodium chlorite of inhalation exposure,and isopropyl alcohol and benzyl-C12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides of dermal exposure were acceptable(>100)before the COVID-19outbreak but became unacceptable(10^(-6))before and after the COVID-19 outbreak but comparatively high after the COVID-19 ***,significantly more workers experienced health symptoms after the COVID-19outbreak(p<0.05),with the most common being muscle lethargy(31%),skin/face stinging(28.7%),and breath shortness/neck pain(24.1%).

BACKGROUND Arterial perforation has inevitably increased as endovascular treatments have become more common for intracranial large vessel occlusions,and even distal,medium vessel occlusions.A distal,medium vessel has a tortuous course and thinner wall compared to large arteries,making it more susceptible to ***,we review the treatment strategies for arterial perforation during mechanical thrombectomy,and we report the case of a patient treated with gelfoam *** SUMMARY A 63-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with sudden neurologic symptoms of right hemiparesis and global *** initial National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was *** tomography(CT)and CT angiography revealed hyperacute infarction and emergent arterial occlusion of the left middle cerebral artery M2-3 *** endovascular mechanical thrombectomy,arterial rupture *** patient’s vital signs were stable,but delayed angiography showed persistent active ***,selective embolization of the injured artery was performed using *** left vertebral and internal carotid angiography was performed to confirm hemostasis.A localized subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH)was confirmed on a follow-up CT scan.A repeated CT scan after 12 d showed resolution of the SAH,and rebleeding did not *** Rescue embolization with gelfoam could be considered an additional option in distal,medium vessel perforation.

Graph coloring has a wide range of real world applications,such as in the operations research,communication network,computational biology and compiler optimization *** our recent work[1],we propose a divide-andconquer approach for graph coloring,called *** an approach has three generic subroutines.(i)Graph partition subroutine:VColor partitions a graph G into a vertex cut partition(VP),which comprises a vertex cut component(VCC)and small non-overlapping connected components(CCs).(ii)Component coloring subroutine:VColor colors the VCC and the CCs by efficient algorithms.(iii)Color combination subroutine:VColor combines the local colors by exploiting the maximum matchings of color combination bigraphs(CCBs).VColor has revealed some major bottlenecks of efficiency in these ***,in this paper,we propose VColor^(*),an approach which addresses these efficiency bottlenecks without using more colors both theoretically and *** technical novelties of this paper are the following.(i)We propose the augmented VP to index the crossing edges of the VCC and the CCs and propose an optimized CCB construction algorithm.(ii)For sparse CCs,we propose using a greedy coloring algorithm that is of polynomial time complexity in the worst case,while preserving the approximation ratio.(iii)We propose a distributed graph coloring *** extensive experimental evaluation on real-world graphs confirms the efficiency of VColor^(*).In particular,VColor^(*)is 20X and 50X faster than VColor and uses the same number of colors with VColor on the Pokec and PA datasets,***^(*)also significantly outperforms the state-ofthe-art graph coloring methods.

SnS-C composite powders were prepared through one-pot spray pyrolysis for use as anode materials for Na-ion batteries. C microspheres with uniformly attached cubic-like SnS nanocrystals, which have an amorphous C coating layer, were formed at a preparation temperature of 900 ℃. The initial discharge capacities of the bare SnS and SnS-C composite powders at a current density of 500 mA·g^-1 were 695 and 740 mA·h·g^-1, respectively. The discharge capacities after 50 cycles and the capacity retentions measured from the second cycle of the bare SnS and SnS-C composite powders were 25 and 433 mA.h.g-1 and 5 and 89%, respectively. The prepared SnS-C composite powders with high reversible capacities and good cycle performance can be used as Na-ion battery anode materials.

A few-layered MoS2-C composite material is studied as a supporting material for silicon nanopowder. Microspheres of the few-layered MoS2-C composite embedded with 30 wt.% Si nanopowder are prepared by one-pot spray pyrolysis. The Si nanopowder particles with high capacity are completely surrounded by the few-layered MoS2-C composite matrix. The discharge capacities of the MoS2-C composite microspheres with and without 30 wt.% Si nanopowder after 100 cycles are 1,020 and 718 mAh·g^-1 at a current density of 1,000 mA·g^-1 respectively. The spherical morphology of the MoS2-C composite microspheres embedded with Si nanopowder is preserved even after 100 cycles because of their high structural stability during cycling. The MoS2-C composite layer prevents the formation of unstable solid-electrolyte interface （SEI） layers on the Si nanopowder. Furthermore, as the MoS2-C composite matrix exhibits high capacity and excellent cycling performance, these characteristics are also reflected in the MoS2-C composite microspheres embedded with 30 wt.% Si nanopowder.
