A novel silver-doped nickel oxide hole-selective contact for crystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells

Based on its band alignment,p-type nickel oxide(NiO_(x))is an excellent candidate material for hole transport layers in crystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells,as it has a smallΔEV and largeΔEC with crystalline ***,to overcome the poor hole selectivity of stoichiometric NiO_(x) due to its low carrier concentration and conductivity,silver-doped nickel oxide(NiO_(x):Ag)hole transport layers with high carrier concentrations were prepared by co-sputtering high-purity silver sheets and pure NiO_(x) *** improved electrical conductivity of NiO_(x) was attributed to the holes generated by the Ag^(+)substituents for Ni^(2.),and moreover,the introduction of Ag^(+)also increased the amount of Ni^(3+)present,both of which increased the carrier concentration in NiO_(x).Ag^(+)doping also reduced the c-Si/NiO_(x) contact resistivity and improved the hole-selective contact with NiO_(x).Furthermore,the problems of particle clusters and interfacial defects on the surfaces of NiO_(x):Ag films were solved by UV-ozone oxidation and high-temperature annealing,which facilitated separation and transport of carriers at the c-Si/NiO_(x) *** constructed c-Si/NiO_(x):Ag solar cell exhibited an increase in open-circuit voltage from 490 to 596 mV and achieved a conversion efficiency of 14.4%.

Bilayer Compounded Polytetrafluoroethylene Membrane for Enhanced Oil-Water Emulsion Separation

In order to achieve efficient and durable oil-water emulsion separation,the membranes possessing high separation efficiency and mechanical strength attract extensive attention and are in great *** present study,a kind of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)-based bilayer membrane was fabricated by electrospinning fibrous PTFE(fPTFE)on an expanded PTFE(ePTFE)*** morphological observation revealed that the fibrous structure of the fPTFE layer could be tailored by controlling the formulation of spinning *** addition of appropriate polyoxyethylene(PEO)would make the fibers in the fPTFE layer finer and more *** a result,the compounded membrane exhibited a small pore size of approximately 1.2.µm and a substantial porosity nearing 80%.This led to super-hydrophobicity,characterized by a high water contact angle(WCA)of 149.8°,and facilitated rapid oil *** water-in-oil emulsion separation experiment further confirmed that the compounded membrane not only had a high separation efficiency closing 100%,but such an outstanding separation capacity could be largely retained,either through multiple cycles of use or through strong acid(pH=1),strong alkali(pH=12.,or high-temperature(100°C)***,the mechanical behavior of the bilayer membrane was basically contributed by that of each layer in terms of their volume *** significantly,the poor creep resistance of fPTFE layer was suppressed by compounding with ePTFE ***,this study has laid the groundwork for a novel approach to create PTFE-based compounded membranes with exceptional overall characteristics,showing promise for applications in the realm of emulsion separation.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a chronic and fatal lung disease characterized by pulmonary inflam-mation,oxidative stress,and excessive extracellular matrix(ECM)*** anti-fibrotic drugs for IPF treatment in the clinic lack selectivity and demonstrate unsatisfactory efficacy,highlighting the urgent necessity for a novel therapeutic ***(TA),which has biological activities against lung injury induced by various factors,is a potential anti-IPF drug due to its anti-inflammatory,antiox-idant and lung-protective ***,the protective effect of TA on IPF has not been confirmed,and its clinical application is limited due to its poor aqueous *** this study,we demonstrated that TA could inhibit epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and migration of A549 cells by inhibiting the transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)/Smad signaling *** improve the aqueous solubility and pulmonary administration performance of TA,we prepared TA loaded methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(d,l-lactide)(mPEG-PLA)/d-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate(TPGS)mixed polymeric mi-celles(TA-PM).Then a MicroSprayer^(R) Aerosolizer was used to deliver TA-PM once every two days for three weeks to evaluate their therapeutic effects on bleomycin(BLM)-induced IPF *** results demonstrated that inhaled TA-PM significantly inhibited BLM-induced inflammation,oxidative stress and fibrosis in lung ***,TA-PM exhibited high pulmonary deposition and retention by pul-monary administration,along with a favorable safety ***,this study emphasizes the potential of inhaled TA-PM as a promising treatment for IPF,providing a new opportunity for their clinical appli-cation.

Scutellarein Ameliorated Chondrocyte Inflammation and Osteoarthritis in Rats

The electrochemical behavior of Ti-6Al-4V with 1 mm and 16 mm thickness prepared by electron beam powder bed fusion(EB-PBF)was investigated in phosphate buffered *** results showed that EB-PBF Ti-6Al-4V with a larger component size was more resistant to corrosion compared to the smaller component,because of less acicularαʹphase content and moreβphase *** a non-equilibrium phase in the“high-energy state”,αʹphase has a greater susceptibility to corrode and reduces the corrosion resistance of the material,whileβphase improves corrosion resistance of titanium *** results show that the phase composition has a more significant effect on the corrosion performance than the grain size.

Associations between the use of red yeast rice preparations and adverse health outcomes:An umbrella review of meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials
