Obesity is closely related with insulin resistance and chronic inflammation.Here,we report that unsaturated lipid-modified polyoxovanadates(ULPOVs)can restrict weight gain of diet-induced obese mice and improve their glycemic control and obesity-associated inflammation.Oral administration of the sub-nanosized ULPOVs at a low dosage for 7 weeks reduces the body weight and almost normalizes the blood glucose levels of obese mice fed on a high-fat diet.ULPOV treatment increases the activity of the nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPARγ)and reduces intestinal caloric intake,which may be the main reason for blood sugar and body weight control.In addition to insulin-sensitizing,PPARγactivation induced by ULPOV treatment in obese mice with atopic dermatitis(AD)promotes the type 2 T helper(TH_(2))cell selective responses and therapeutic effects on immune dysregulation caused by obesity.These data suggest sub-nanosized polyoxovanadate clusters as a class of potential candidates to relieve symptoms accompanied by diet-induced obesity.

Dissolved organic matter(DOM) plays an essential role in many geochemical processes,however its complexity, chemical diversity, and molecular composition are poorly understood. Soil samples were collected from 500 vegetable fields in administrative regions of China' Mainland, of which 122 were selected for further investigation. DOM properties were characterized by three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(3D-EEM) fuorescence spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FTICRMS)(field intensity is 15 Tesla). Our results indicated that the main constituents were UVA humic-like substances, humic-like substances, fulvic acid-like substances, and tyrosine-like substances. A total of 10,989 molecular formulae with a mass range of 100.04 to 799.59 Da were detected, covering the mass spectrometric information of the soil samples from 27 different regions. CHO and CHON molecules were dominant in DOM, whereas lignin, tannins,and aromatic substances served as the main components. The results of cluster analysis revealed that the soil properties in Jiangxi Province were considerably different from those in other regions. The key backgrounds of the DOM molecular characteristics in the vegetablefield soil samples across China' Mainland were provided at the molecular level, with large abundance and great variability.

Osteosarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from bone tissue that progresses rapidly and has a poor patient prognosis.Immunotherapy has shown great potential in the treatment of osteosarcoma.However,the immunosuppressive microenvironment severely limits the efficacy of osteosarcoma treatment.The dual pH-sensitive nanocarrier has emerged as an effective antitumor drug delivery system that can selectively release drugs into the acidic tumor microenvironment.Here,we prepared a dual pH-sensitive nanocarrier,loaded with the photosensitizer Chlorin e6(Ce6)and CD47 monoclonal antibodies(aCD47),to deliver synergistic photodynamic and immunotherapy of osteosarcoma.On laser irradiation,Ce6 can generate reactive oxygen species(ROS)to kill cancer cells directly and induces immunogenic tumor cell death(ICD),which further facilitates the dendritic cell maturation induced by blockade of CD47 by aCD47.Moreover,both calreticulin released during ICD and CD47 blockade can accelerate phagocytosis of tumor cells by macrophages,promote antigen presentation,and eventually induce T lymphocyte-mediated antitumor immunity.Overall,the dual pH-sensitive nanodrug loaded with Ce6 and aCD47 showed excellent immune-activating and anti-tumor effects in osteosarcoma,which may lay the theoretical foundation for a novel combination model of osteosarcoma treatment.

Hydrogel-based quasi-solid-state electrolytes(Q-SSEs) swollen with electrolyte solutions are important components in stretchable supercapacitors and other wearable devices. This work fabricates a supertough, fatigue-resistant, and alkali-resistant multi-bond network(MBN) hydrogel aiming to be an alkaline Q-SSE. To synthesize the hydrogel, a 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidone(UPy) motif is introduced into a poly(acrylic acid) polymer chain. The obtained MBN hydrogels with 75 wt% water content exhibit tensile strength as high as 2.47 MPa, which is enabled by the large energy dissipation ability originated from the dissociation of UPy dimers due to their high bond association energy. Owing to the high dimerization constant of UPy motifs, the dissociated UPy motifs are able to partially re-associate soon after being released from external forces, resulting in excellent fatigue-resistance. More importantly, the MBN hydrogels exhibit excellent alkali-resistance ability. The UPy Gel-10 swollen with 1 mol/L KOH display a tensile strength as high as ~1.0 MPa with elongation at break of ~550%. At the same time, they show ionic conductivity of ~17 m S/cm, which do not decline even when the hydrogels are stretched to 500% strain.The excellent mechanical property and ionic conductivity of the present hydrogels demonstrate potential application as a stretchable alkaline Q-SSE.

This study focuses on the master of arts education in higher education institutions in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China,explores the path of integrating Guangxi Zhuang’s intangible cultural heritage with the teaching of master of arts,and puts forward the teaching mode of“thinking guidance-autonomous judgement-program construction.”A theoretical model of innovative transformation of intangible cultural heritage is also summarized.Through the development of this study,it is expected to further enrich the practical teaching mechanism of master of arts education in Chinese universities and form a master of arts teaching model with strong local cultural characteristics.At the same time,the teaching reform based on the integration of Guangxi Zhuang’s intangible cultural heritage and master of arts education also has strong practical significance for promoting the inheritance and innovation of Chinese intangible cultural heritage,promoting the development of cultural and creative industries,and serving the economic and social development of Guangxi.

A Neural-network-based Alternative Scheme to Include Nonhydrostatic Processes in an Atmospheric Dynamical Core

Here,a nonhydrostatic alternative scheme(NAS)is proposed for the grey zone where the nonhydrostatic impact on the atmosphere is evident but not large enough to justify the necessity to include an implicit nonhydrostatic solver in an atmospheric dynamical core.The NAS is designed to replace this solver,which can be incorporated into any hydrostatic models so that existing well-developed hydrostatic models can effectively serve for a longer time.Recent advances in machine learning(ML)provide a potential tool for capturing the main complicated nonlinear-nonhydrostatic relationship.In this study,an ML approach called a neural network(NN)was adopted to select leading input features and develop the NAS.The NNs were trained and evaluated with 12-day simulation results of dry baroclinic-wave tests by the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model.The forward time difference of the nonhydrostatic tendency was used as the target variable,and the five selected features were the nonhydrostatic tendency at the last time step,and four hydrostatic variables at the current step including geopotential height,pressure in two different forms,and potential temperature,respectively.Finally,a practical NAS was developed with these features and trained layer by layer at a 20-km horizontal resolution,which can accurately reproduce the temporal variation and vertical distribution of the nonhydrostatic tendency.Corrected by the NN-based NAS,the improved hydrostatic solver at different horizontal resolutions can run stably for at least one month and effectively reduce most of the nonhydrostatic errors in terms of system bias,anomaly root-mean-square error,and the error of the wave spatial pattern,which proves the feasibility and superiority of this scheme.

Copper carbonate nanoparticles as an effective biomineralized carrier to load macromolecular drugs for multimodal therapy

Macromolecular drugs have attracted great interest as biotherapy to cure previously untreatable diseases.For clinical translation,biomacromolecules encounter several common druggability difficulties,such as in vivo instability and poor penetration to cross physiologic barriers,thus requiring sophisticated systems for drug delivery.Inspired by the natural biomineralization via interaction between inorganic ions and biomacromolecules,herein we rationally screened biocompatible transition metals to biomineralize with carbonate for macromolecules loading.Among the metal ions,Cu^(2+)was found to be the best candidate,and its superiority over the widely studied Ca^(2+)minerals was also demonstrated.Capitalized on this finding,copper carbonate nanoparticles were prepared via a simple mixing process to co-load glucose oxidase(GOx)and a HIF-αDNAzyme(DZ),achieving ultra-high loading capacity of 61%.Upon encapsulation into nanoparticles,enzymatic activity of both drugs was passivated to avoid potential side-effects during circulation,while the drugs could be rapidly released within 1 h in response to acidic p H to fully recover their activities.The nanoparticles could accumulate into tumor via intravenous injection,facilitate the cell membrane penetration,and release the payloads of GOx,DZ and Cu^(2+)inside cells to exert a series of anti-tumor effects.GOx caused tumor starvation by catalytic glucose consumption,and the concomitantly generated H_(2)O_(2)byproduct boosted the Cu^(2+)-mediated chemodynamic therapy(CDT).Meanwhile,the DZ silenced HIF-αexpression to sensitize both starvation therapy and CDT.As a result,a synergistic tumor growth inhibition was achieved.This work provides a simple method to prepare biomineralized nanoparticles,and offers a general approach for macromolecular drugs delivery via Cu^(2+)-based biomineralization.

Currently,the effective and clean suppression of lithium-ion battery(LIB)fires remains a challenge.The present work investigates the use of various inhibitor doses(Xin)of dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one(C_(6) F_(12)O)in 300 Ah LIBs,and systematically examines the thermal and toxic hazards of the extinguished batteries via real scale combustion and gas analysis.The inhibitor is shown to be completely effective.The inhibition mechanism involves a combination of chemical inhibition and physical cooling.While the chemical inhibition effect tends to saturate with increasing Xin,the physical cooling remains effective at higher inhibitor doses.However,extinguishing the battery fire with a high Xin of C_(6)F_(12)O is found to incur serious toxicity problems.These results are expected to provide a guideline for the design of inhibitor doses for the suppression of LIB fires.

Enrichment characteristics of normal-pressure marine shale gas in the complex tectonic zone: a case study of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation in northern Guizhou

The Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation is a crucial stratum for the exploration of normal-pressure marine shale gas in southern China， with great development potential. To research the normal-pressure shale gas accumulation of the Niutitang Formation in the complex tectonic zone， the shale cores in northern Guizhou were subjected to X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) observation， and tests were conducted to determine total organic content (TOC)， bitumen reflectance， and nitrogen isotopes. The results indicate that the equivalent vitrinite reflectance of cores varies from 2.30% to 3.73%， and the TOC content of cores varies from 3.8% to 7.8%. The total gas content of three wells in northern Guizhou is 0.5 m3/t， 0.3 m3/t， and 1.4 m3/t， respectively. The TOC content of the shale in the syncline structure is higher than that of the shale in the anticline structure. Nitrogen in shale gas originates primarily from the thermal ammoniation of organic matter， the atmosphere， and the deep crust. Shale gas preservation is favourable in regions with a large range of lifting， and small lifting differences. The syncline is broad and gentle with few faults have better gas accumulation conditions. The Niutitang Formation in the residual syncline of the study area has better gas content than that of other structures. Exploration of shale gas accumulation sweet spots in northern Guizhou should focus on the broad-gentle synclines with minimal changes in stratigraphic lifting， few faults， and no hydrothermal activity at the edges of paleo-uplifts.

Probiotics could regulate human health via changing gut microbiota.Our previous studies found that Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Y44 (L.plantarum Y44) was shown to reverse obesity-related symptoms of high-fat diet fed mice by influencing gut microbiota,which ameliorated lipid metabolism disorders and intestinal inflammation.In this study,the effects of L.plantarum Y44 on high-fat fed mice and the involved mechanisms were investigated through hypothalamus proteomics analysis,which revealed 22 downregulated and 21 upregulated proteins.Differentially expressed proteins between L.plantarum Y44 intervention group and high-fat fed group in hypothalamus of mice involved in metabolic pathways were concentrated in endocrine regulation of carbohydrate,amino acid and energy generation pathways.The hypothalamus proteomics results about the influences on most of differentially expressed proteins of L.plantarum Y44 administering high-fat fed mice has been verified.Therefore,L.plantarum Y44 would be a potential functional strain for the amelioration of high-fat diet associated health problems.
