Few-layered ReS_2 nanosheets grown on graphene as electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction

Few-layered ReStwo-dimensional(2 D) semiconductor nanosheets directly nucleated and grown on reduced graphene oxide(RGO) were synthesized through a facile hydrothermal method. Compared with bare ReS, the ReS2/RGO hybrid delivers much better electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) in acidic media. It exhibits a lower Tafel slope of 107.4 mV decand a larger current density of-5.2 mA·cmat-250 mV(vs. RHE),compared with ReS(152.7 mV·dec,-3.1 mA·cm). The ReS/RGO hybrid has a unique architecture constructed by highly conductive and porous RGO internetworks, which guarantees easy electrolyte infiltration and efficient charge transfer and provides sufficient active edge sites, resulting in enhanced HER performance. The present synthesis approach can be extended to synthesize other 2 D-semiconductor-based composites for energy storage and catalytic devices.

Studies have shown that hyperglycemia aggravates brain damage by affecting vascular endothelial function. However, the precise mechanism remains unclear. Male Sprague-Dawley rat models of diabetes were established by a high-fat diet combined with an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Rat models of traumatic brain injury were established using the fluid percussion method. Compared with traumatic brain injury rats without diabetic, diabetic rats with traumatic brain injury exhibited more severe brain injury, manifested as increased brain water content and blood-brain barrier permeability, the upregulation of heme oxygenase-1, myeloperoxidase, and Bax, the downregulation of occludin, zona-occludens 1, and Bcl-2 in the penumbra, and reduced modified neurological severity scores. The intraperitoneal injection of a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor N(5)-(1-iminoethyl)-L-ornithine(10 mg/kg) 15 minutes before brain injury aggravated the injury. These findings suggested that nitric oxide synthase plays an important role in the maintenance of cerebral microcirculation, including anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative stress, and anti-apoptotic activities in diabetic rats with traumatic brain injury. The experimental protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care Committee of Harbin Medical University, China(approval No. ky2017-126) on March 6, 2017.

The multi-roller straightening process of section steel is analyzed by the springback theory of small curva- ture plane bending. The theoretical analysis results prove the curvature unification in straightening process and clear- ly reveal the principle of the multi-roller straightening process. The principle can be described as~ the initial curva- tures are reduced by several times anti-bendingl meanwhile the initial curvature differences are diminished and the residual curvatures are unified~ finally, the member after curvature unification is straightened by the last anti-ben- ding. With the plastic region ratios becoming larger, the initial curvatures are more easily unified in straightening process. Based on the plastic region ratios and the required number of roller systems for unifying the initial curva- tures, the large deformation straightening strategy and the small deformation straightening strategy are redefined. The new definition provides an important theoretical basis for setting reliable reduction rules. Through the theoretical analysis results, a new straightener design philosophy is proposed to improve the straightening quality and further increase the adjustment precision as well as the flexibility of the last roller system. The adjustable end roller emerges as the times required, achieving a good effect in practical application.

Cellulose aerogel, with abundant three-dimensional architecture, has been considered as a class of ideal eco-friendly matrix materials to encapsulate various nanoparticles for synthesis of miscellaneous functional materials. In the present paper, hexagonal single-crystalline MnFe_2O_4 was fabricated and inserted into the cellulose aerogel using an in situ chemical precipitation method. The as-prepared MnFe_2O_4 nanoparticles were well dispersed and immobilized in the micro/nanoscale pore structure of the aerogel, and exhibited superparamagnetic behavior. In addition, the nanocomposite was easily actuated under the effect of an external magnetic field, revealing its strong magnetic *** with the advantages of environmental benefits,facile synthesis method, strong magnetic responsiveness,and unique structural feature, this class of MnFe_2O_4/cellulose aerogel nanocomposite has possible uses for applications such as magnetically actuated adsorbents.

Colitis-associated colorectal cancer(CAC)is defined as a specific cluster of colorectal cancers that develop as a result of prolonged colitis in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Patients with IBD,including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease,are known to have an increased risk of developing *** the incidence of CAC has significantly decreased over the past few decades,individuals with CAC have increased mortality compared to individuals with sporadic colorectal cancer,and the incidence of CAC increases with *** inflammation is generally recognized as a major contributor to the pathogenesis of *** has been shown to progress from colitis to dysplasia and finally to *** evidence suggests that multiple immune-mediated pathways,DNA damage pathways,and pathogens are involved in the pathogenesis of *** the past decade,there has been an increasing effort to develop clinical approaches that could help improve outcomes for CAC *** surveillance plays an important role in reducing the risk of advanced and interval *** is generally recommended that CAC patients undergo endoscopic removal or *** review summarizes the current understanding of CAC,particularly its epidemiology,mechanisms,and *** focuses on the mechanisms that contribute to the development of CAC,covering advances in genomics,immunology,and the microbiome;presents evidence for management strategies,including endoscopy and colectomy;and discusses new strategies to interfere with the process and development of *** scientific findings will pave the way for the management of CAC in the near future.

Tilapias are important aquaculture ***-biased sexual size dimorphism is very common and males are preferred for aquaculture in ***,the mechanisms underlying sexual dimorphism remain to be *** hundred and thirty-six sex-biased genes,of which 23 were male-biased and 113 were femalebiased,were identified via reanalysis of a muscle transcriptome data using the latest reference genome *** genes were mapped to KEGG pathways that are related to somatic cell metabolism,growth and differentiations,such as MAPK,FoxO4 and metabolism pathways as well as developmental processes responsible for skeletal muscle *** related to cell growth and proliferations such as MAPK signaling pathways are upregulated in males while pathways regulating cell division such as FoxO4 are upregulated in ***-biased genes in tilapia skeletal muscle have higher evolution rates(dN/dS)compared to unbiased ***-biased and male-biased genes showed 17.4%and 13.5%higher dN/dS,respectively,compared to unbiased *** results suggest that some of the male and female sex-biased genes were under selection *** SNPs located in the promoter region of one sex-biased gene RASGRF1 on LG1 were associated with bodyweight differences in the hybrid *** sex-biased genes identified in this study may serve as candidate genes for future functional analysis on sexual size dimorphism and for developing DNA markers for selecting fast-growing saline tilapia in aquaculture.

This paper presents a brief overview of the geospatial technologies developed and applied in Chang’e-3 and Chang’e-4 lunar rover *** mapping techniques were used to produce topographic products of the landing site with meter level resolution using orbital images before landing,and to produce centimeter-resolution topographic products in near real-time after *** positioning techniques were used to determine the locations of the two landers using descent images and orbital basemaps immediately after *** surface operations,visual-positioning-based rover localization was performed routinely at each waypoint using Navcam *** topographic analysis and rover localization results directly supported waypoint-to-waypoint path planning,science target selection and scientific investigations.A GIS-based digital cartography system was also developed to support rover teleoperation.

Effects of initial crystal size of diamond powder on surface residual stress and morphology in polycrystalline diamond (PCD) layer

Polycrystalline diamond compacts (PDC) were synthesized using diamond powder of average crystal size 3-20 μm by the Ni 70 Mn 25 Co 5 alloy infiltration technique at high temperature and high pressure (HPHT).The surface residual stress of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) layer was measured using micro-Raman spectroscopy with hydrostatic stress model and X-ray diffraction (XRD).Measurements of the stress levels of PCDs show that the residual compressive stresses range from 0.12 to 0.22 GPa,which increase with the crystal size of *** electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the morphology of initial diamond grains and PCD *** results indicate that PCD has a dense and interlaced microstructure with diamond-diamond (D-D) direct *** the smaller the crystal size of diamond,the better the growth of diamond direct bonding and the smaller the binder metal between diamond boundaries will be.
