Superhydrophobic surface(SHS) has been well developed, as SHS renders the property of minimizing the water/solid contact interface. Water droplets deposited onto SHS with contact angles exceeding 150°, allow them to retain spherical shapes, and the low adhesion of SHS facilitates easy droplet collection when tilting the substrate. These characteristics make SHS suitable for a wide range of applications. One particularly promising application is the fabrication of microsphere and supraparticle materials. SHS offers a distinct advantage as a universal platform capable of providing customized services for a variety of microspheres and supraparticles. In this review, an overview of the strategies for fabricating microspheres and supraparticles with the aid of SHS, including cross-linking process, polymer melting,and droplet template evaporation methods, is first presented. Then, the applications of microspheres and supraparticles formed onto SHS are discussed in detail, for example, fabricating photonic devices with controllable structures and tunable structural colors, acting as catalysts with emerging or synergetic properties, being integrated into the biomedical field to construct the devices with different medicinal purposes, being utilized for inducing protein crystallization and detecting trace amounts of analytes. Finally,the perspective on future developments involved with this research field is given, along with some obstacles and opportunities.

Background:Chimeric antigen receptor T(CAR-T)cell therapy has achieved marked therapeutic success in ameliorating hematological malignancies.However,there is an extant void in the clinical guidelines concerning the most effective chemotherapy regimen prior to chimeric antigen receptor T(CAR-T)cell therapy,as well as the optimal timing for CAR-T cell infusion post-chemotherapy.Materials and Methods:We employed cell-derived tumor xenograft(CDX)murine models to delineate the optimal pre-conditioning chemotherapy regimen and timing for CAR-T cell treatment.Furthermore,transcriptome sequencing was implemented to identify the therapeutic targets and elucidate the underlying mechanisms governing the treatment regimen.Results:Our preclinical in vivo evaluation determined that a combination of cyclophosphamide and fludarabine,followed by the infusion of CD19 CAR-T cells five days subsequent to the chemotherapy,exerts the most efficacious therapeutic effect in B-cell hematological malignancies.Concurrently,RNA-seq data indicated that the therapeutic efficacy predominantly perturbs tumor cell metabolism,primarily through the inhibition of key mitochondrial targets,such as C-Jun Kinase enzyme(C-JUN).Conclusion:In summary,the present study offers critical clinical guidance and serves as an authoritative reference for the deployment of CD19 CAR-T cell therapy in the treatment of B-cell hematological malignancies.

文章选用清香型铁观音与柚子花为材料,开展了不同窨制方式的柚子花茶窨制试验,探讨柚子花茶最佳窨制参数并对其主要香气成分进行分析。结果表明,在采用密闭窨制条件下,不同窨次柚子花茶样品的香气组成不同,除了含90种共同香气化学成分外,不同窨次柚子花茶样品还具特有香气化学成分,一窨、二窨、三窨花茶样品分别具有17、21、22种特有香气化学成分。文章初步总结出一套铁观音柚子花茶加工技术,为柚子花茶的加工提供参考。

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of salvianolic acid A(SAA) in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) induced by pristane in BALB/c mice.Lupus mice were established by confirming elevated levels of autoantibodies and IL-6 after intraperitoneal injection of pristane.Mice were then treated with daily oral doses of SAA for 5 months in parallel with mice treated with prednisone and aspirin as positive controls.The levels of autoantibodies were monitored at monthly intervals and nephritic symptoms observed by hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) and periodic acid-Schiff(PAS) staining.Western blot analysis of renal tissue was also employed.SAA treatment caused a significant reduction in the levels of anti-Sm autoantibodies and reduced renal histopathological changes and pathological effects.SAA treatment also significantly inhibited the phosphorylation of IKK,IκB and NFκB in renal tissues of lupus mice.In conclusion,the results suggest that SAA alleviates renal injury in pristane-induced SLE in BALB/c mice through inhibition of phosphorylation of IKK,IκB and NFκB.

POLG Mutations Are Probably Rare in the Han Chinese Population

Objective Mutations in polymerase gamma gene(POLG)are believed to be an important cause of early and juvenile onset of non-syndromic intractable epilepsy.The aim of this study is to investigate the incidence/prevalence of POLG pathogenic variants in epilespy patients of Han population through sequencing it.Methods Han Chinese patients with seizures prior valproic acid(VPA)exposure at Shanghai Children\Hospital were collected from 2015 to 2019.The clinical diagnosis was based on the 2014 Consensus Statement of Epilepsy by the International League against Epilepsy(ILAE).Blood sampling were performed before VPA treatment.The POLG gene DNA was sequenced by either the first or the next generation sequencing(NGS).The POLG variant burden was illustrated.Liver functions were tested to describe whether they experienced VPA toxicity.Results Ibtally 216 Han Chinese patients were included,aged from 1 month to IS years old,102 were male and 114 were female.The onset age was 1 month old to 13 years old,and the epilepsy course ranged from 2 weeks to about 3 years.VPA treatment was delivered for the generalized or intractable partial seizures at standard dosage.No patient experienced hepatic toxicity following VPA exposure.DNA sequencing data showed no patient had either a homozygous mutation or compound heterozygous mutation of POLG.Single heterozygous mutations of c.1150G>T and p.D384Y were found in 2 patients,and single heterozygous mutation of c.l56_158dupGCA was found in 1 patient.None of these variants showed clinical significance.Conclusions Functional modifying POLG homozygous mutations and compound heterozygous mutations were not detected and VPA toxicity was not seen in the current study.POLG mutation frequency might be rare in Han Chinese,and standard VPA.therapeutic dosage might be safe for Han Chinese patients.

Background:Ketogenic diet(KD)therapy is one of the main treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy.However,the KD therapy has been applied in only a small number of infantile spasm cases.In this large multicenter study,we investigated the efficacy of KD therapy in the treatment of infantile spasms.Methods:In this retrospective,multicenter cohort study,clinical data from main epilepsy centers were analyzed.Patients were classified into different groups according to age,type of drug and whether glucocorticoid was used before initiation of KD.Results:From October 2014 to March 2020,481 patients(308 males and 173 females)with infantile spasms were treated with the KD therapy.The age of the patients ranged from 2 months to 20 years,with a mean age of 1 year and 10 months.The number of anti-seizure medications(ASMs)used before KD initiation ranged 0-6,with a median of 3.In different time from initiation(1,3,6,and 12 months),the rates of seizure freedom after KD were 6.9,11.6;16.0 and 16.8%,respectively(x^(2)=27.1772,P0.05).Two hundred and eighteen patients(45.3%)failed to respond to c

低氧性肺动脉高压(HPH)是慢性高原病的一种,也是肺心病、高原肺水肿等多种高原病的始动环节,其主要特征是血管持续性收缩和不可逆重构,对高原地区人们的身体健康产生了很大影响。藏药作为民族医药的重要部分,凝聚了藏族人民长期以来与疾病斗争的智慧,因地制宜,对HPH的治疗有独特的优势。该文就HPH的发病机制及单味藏药和藏药复方治疗HPH的研究现状予以综述,以期为HPH的生理、病理研究提供理论依据,同时为藏药的临床应用提供参考。

Predictive analytics have been widely used in the literature with respect to laparoscopic surgery and risk stratification.However,most predictive analytics in this field exploit generalized linearmodels for predictive purposes,which are limited by model assumptionsdincluding linearity between response variables and additive interactions between variables.In many instances,such assumptions may not hold true,and the complex relationship between predictors and response variables is usually unknown.To address this limitation,machine-learning algorithms can be employed to model the underlying data.The advantage of machine learning algorithms is that they usually do not require strict assumptions regarding data structure,and they are able to learn complex functional forms using a nonparametric approach.Furthermore,two or more machine learning algorithms can be synthesized to further improve predictive accuracy.Such a process is referred to as ensemble modeling,and it has been used broadly in various industries.However,this approach has not been widely reported in the laparoscopic surgical literature due to its complexity in both model training and interpretation.With this technical note,we provide a comprehensive overview of the ensemble-modeling technique and a step-by-step tutorial on how to implement ensemble modeling.
