The outbreak of coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)has resulted in a global public health *** with cirrhosis were deemed more susceptible to viral infection because of their dysregulated immune *** to the general population,cirrhotic patients exhibit various degrees of COVID-19-related liver injury,which could be attributed to direct virus cytotoxicity,systemic immune system activation,drug-related liver injury,reactivation of pre-existing liver disease,and hypoxic *** clinical symptoms in patients with cirrhosis and COVID-19 were similar to those in the general population with COVID-19,with a lower proportion of patients with gastrointestinal *** respiratory failure is the predominant cause of mortality in cirrhotic patients with COVID-19,a significant proportion of them lack initial respiratory *** evidence has shown that cirrhotic patients have relatively higher rates of morbidity and mortality associated with *** cirrhosis was also proposed as an independent factor affecting a poor prognosis and the need to consider COVID-19 palliative *** measures implemented to prevent the transmission of the virus are also essential for cirrhotic patients,and they should also receive standard cirrhosis care with minimal *** efficacy of the available COVID-19 vaccines in cirrhotic patients still needs investigation.

EZ-Manipulator:Designing a mobile,fast,and ambiguity-free 3D manipulation interface using smartphones

Interacting with digital contents in 3 D is an essential task in various applications such as modeling packages, gaming, virtual reality, etc. Traditional interfaces using keyboard and mouse or trackball usually require a non-trivial amount of working space as well as a learning process. We present the design of EZ-Manipulator, a new 3 D manipulation interface using smartphones that supports mobile, fast, and ambiguity-free interaction with 3 D objects. Our system leverages the built-in multi-touch input and gyroscope sensor of smartphones to achieve 9 degrees-of-freedom axis-constrained manipulation and free-form *** EZ-Manipulator to manipulate objects in 3 D is easy. The user merely has to perform intuitive singleor two-finger gestures and rotate the hand-held device to perform manipulations at fine-grained and coarse levels respectively. We further investigate the ambiguity in manipulation introduced by indirect manipulations using a multi-touch interface, and propose a dynamic virtual camera adjustment to effectively resolve the ambiguity. A preliminary study shows that our system has significant lower task completion time compared to conventional use of a keyboard–mouse interface, and provides a positive user experience to both novices and experts.

What Security Questions Do Developers Ask？ A Large-Scale Study of Stack Overflow Posts

Security has always been a popular and critical topic. With the rapid development of information technology, it is always attracting people＇s attention. However, since security has a long history, it covers a wide range of topics which change a lot, from classic cryptography to recently popular mobile security. There is a need to investigate security-related topics and trends, which can be a guide for security researchers, security educators and security practitioners. To address the above-mentioned need, in this paper, we conduct a large-scale study on security-related questions on Stack Overflow. Stack Overflow is a popular on-line question and answer site for software developers to communicate, collaborate, and share information with one another. There are many different topics among the numerous questions posted on Stack Overflow and security-related questions occupy a large proportion and have an important and significant position. We first use two heuristics to extract from the dataset the questions that are related to security based on the tags of the posts. And then we use an advanced topic model, Latent Diriehlet Allocation （LDA） tuned using Genetic Algorithm （GA）, to cluster different security-related questions based on their texts. After obtaining the different topics of security-related questions, we use their metadata to make various analyses. We summarize all the topics into five main categories, and investigate the popularity and difficulty of different topics as well. Based on the results of our study, we conclude several implications for researchers, educators and practitioners.

Efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) in alkaline solution are highly required for water *** we design an ultra-small PtOx nanoparticle with hybrid Pt chemical states on carbon nanotubes as highly efficient alkaline HER catalyst,which shows a low overpotential of 19.4 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2),a high mass activity of 5.56 A mg_(Pt)^(-1) at 0.1 V, and a stable durability for at least 20 *** HER performance is better than that of the benchmark 20 wt% Pt/C while the Pt content in the catalyst is only about one tenth of that in Pt/*** also represents one of the best catalysts ever reported for HER in alkaline *** radiation X-ray absorption spectroscopy reveals that the efficient and stable alkaline HER performance can be attributed to the favorable design of hybrid chemical states of Pt with carbon nanotubes,which exhibits abundant surface Pt-O as active catalytic sites and forms stable Pt-C interfacial interaction to both anchor the NPs and improve the synergistic effect between catalyst and substrate.

Bioinformatic analysis of large and complex omics datasets has become increasingly useful in modern day biology by providing a great depth of information,with its application to neuroscience termed *** mining of omics datasets has enabled the generation of new hypotheses based on differentially regulated biological molecules associated with disease mechanisms,which can be tested experimentally for improved diagnostic and therapeutic targeting of neurodegenerative ***,integrating multi-omics data using a systems bioinformatics approach will advance the understanding of the layered and interactive network of biological regulation that exchanges systemic knowledge to facilitate the development of a comprehensive human brain *** this review,we first summarize data mining studies utilizing datasets from the individual type of omics analysis,including epigenetics/epigenomics,transcriptomics,proteomics,metabolomics,lipidomics,and spatial omics,pertaining to Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,and multiple *** then discuss multi-omics integration approaches,including independent biological integration and unsupervised integration methods,for more intuitive and informative interpretation of the biological data obtained across different omics *** further assess studies that integrate multi-omics in data mining which provide convoluted biological insights and offer proof-of-concept proposition towards systems bioinformatics in the reconstruction of brain ***,we recommend a combination of high dimensional bioinformatics analysis with experimental validation to achieve translational neuroscience applications including biomarker discovery,therapeutic development,and elucidation of disease *** conclude by providing future perspectives and opportunities in applying integrative multi-omics and systems bioinformatics to achieve precision phenotyping of neurodegenerative diseases and towards personaliz

Cross-frequency coupling(CFC)reflects(nonlinear)interactions between signals of different *** from both patient and healthy participant studies suggests that CFC plays an essential role in neuronal computation,interregional interaction,and disease *** present review discusses methodological advances and challenges in the computation of CFC with particular emphasis on potential solutions to spurious coupling,inferring intrinsic rhythms in a targeted frequency band,and causal *** specifically focus on the literature exploring CFC in the context of cognition/memory tasks,sleep,and neurological disorders,such as Alzheimer's disease,epilepsy,and Parkinson's ***,we highlight the implication of CFC in the context and for the optimization of invasive and noninvasive neuromodulation and ***,CFC could support advancing the understanding of the neurophysiology of cognition and motor control,serve as a biomarker for disease symptoms,and leverage the optimization of therapeutic interventions,e.g.,closed-loop brain *** the evident advantages of CFC as an investigative and translational tool in neuroscience,further methodological improvements are required to facilitate practical and correct use in cyborg and bionic systems in the field.

In the present study a numerical model developed by Lynett and Liu （2002） is modified to include density difference in a stratified two-layer fluid in a three-dimensional internal wave domain. The internal solitary wave （ISW） in the model is assumed to be weakly nonlinear and weakly dispersive, and the viscosity effects at all boundaries are ignored. The governing equations based on the Navier-Stokes and Euler equations are solved for internal solitary wave propagation over variable seabed topography. Theoretical formulations are established, from which analytical solutions are obtained, in addition to numerical results. Wave profiles from previous experimental studies are compared with the numerical results from the present analytical solutions. Numerical models developed on the basis of the present analytical solutions are better than those developed by Lynett and Liu （2002）. The results of numerical modeling agree well with the experimental data.

Quantum computing has shown great potential in various quantum chemical applications such as drug discovery,material design,and catalyst *** significant progress has been made in the quantum simulation of simple molecules,ab initio simulation of solid-state materials on quantum computers is still in its early stage,mostly owing to the fact that the system size quickly becomes prohibitively large when approaching the thermodynamic *** this work,we introduce an orbital-based multifragment approach on top of the periodic density matrix embedding theory,resulting in a significantly smaller problem size for the current near-term quantum *** demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of our method compared with the conventional methodologies and experiments on solid-state systems with complex electronic *** include spin-polarized states of a hydrogen chain(1D-H),the equation of state of a boron nitride layer(h-BN)as well as the magnetic ordering in nickel oxide(NiO),a prototypical strongly correlated *** results suggest that quantum embedding combined with a chemically intuitive fragmentation can greatly advance quantum simulation of realistic materials,thereby paving the way for solving important yet classically hard industrial problems on near-term quantum devices.

This paper presents a corrosion assessment of copper spent nuclear fuel disposal canisters in crystalline rock,using hydrogeological modeling.A simplified approach is considered,to avoid complex and time-consuming computer *** simplified case is presented as a base case,with changes in the hydrogeological parameters presented as variant *** results show that in Taiwan’s base case,decreasing the hydraulic conductivity of the rock or decreasing the hydraulic conductivity of dikes results in a shorter transport path for sulfide and an increase in corrosion ***,the estimated canister failure time is still over one million years in the variant cases.
