Radioactive ^125I seed implantation for locally advanced pancreatic cancer:A retrospective analysis of 50 cases

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the digestive system,and radical resection is the first choice of treatment for pancreatic *** patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer cannot be treated in time and effectively,their disease often develops rapidly and their survival period is very *** To evaluate the therapeutic effect of ^125I seed implantation in patients with locally advanced pancreatic *** The demographics and perioperative outcomes of a consecutive series of patients who underwent ^125I seed implantation to treat locally advanced pancreatic cancer between January 1,2017 and June 30,2019 were retrospectively *** to the results of preoperative computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging,the treatment planning system was used to determine the area and number of ^125I seeds *** the operation,^125I seeds were implanted into the tumor under the guidance of intraoperative ultrasound,with a spacing of 1.5 cm and a row spacing of 1.5 *** patients with obstructive jaundice and digestive tract obstruction,choledochojejunostomy and gastroenterostomy were performed *** operation,the patients were divided into a non-chemotherapy group and a chemotherapy group that received gemcitabine combined with albumin-bound paclitaxel *** Among the 50 patients,there were 29 males and 21 females,with a mean age of 56.9±9.8 *** main reason for the failure of radical resection was superior mesenteric artery invasion(37,74%),followed by superior mesenteric vein invasion(33,66%).Twenty-one(62%)patients underwent palliative surgery and postoperative pain relief occurred in 40(80%)*** estimated blood loss in operation was 107.4±115.3 mL and none of the patient received blood *** postoperative hospital stay was 7.5±4.2 d;one patient had biliary fistula and three had pancreatic fistula,all of whom recovered after conservative treatment

BACKGROUND Preoperative diagnosis rate of pancreatic cancer has increased year by *** prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients with unexpected liver metastasis found by intraoperative exploration is very poor,and there is no effective and unified treatment *** To evaluate the therapeutic effect of radioactive 125I seed implantation for pancreatic cancer patients with unexpected liver *** The demographics and perioperative outcomes of patients who underwent 125I seed implantation to treat pancreatic cancer with unexpected liver metastasis between January 1,2017 and June 1,2019 were retrospectively *** the operation,125I seeds were implanted into the pancreatic tumor under the guidance of intraoperative ultrasound,with a spacing of 1.5 cm and a row spacing of 1.5 *** patients with obstructive jaundice and digestive tract obstruction,choledochojejunostomy and gastroenterostomy were performed *** operation,the patients were divided into a non-chemotherapy group and a chemotherapy group that received gemcitabine combined with albumin-bound paclitaxel *** Preoperative imaging evaluation of all patients in this study showed that the tumor was resectable without liver *** were 26 patients in this study,including 18 males and 8 females,aged 60.5±9.7 *** most common tumor site was the pancreatic head(17,65.4%),followed by the pancreatic neck and body(6,23.2%)and pancreatic tail(3,11.4%).Fourteen patients(53.8%)underwent palliative surgery and postoperative pain relief occurred in 22 patients(84.6%).The estimated blood loss in operation was 148.3±282.1 mL and one patient received blood *** postoperative hospital stay was 7.6±2.8 *** patient had biliary fistula,one had pancreatic fistula,and all recovered after conservative *** operation,7 patients received chemotherapy and 19 did *** 1-year survival rate was significantly higher in patients who received ch

More demand-side flexible resources(DFRs)are participating in the frequency regulation of renewable power systems,whose heterogeneous characteristics have a significant impact on the system frequency ***,selecting suitable DFRs poses a formidable challenge for independent system operators(ISO).In this paper,a reserve allocation methodology for heterogeneous DFRs is proposed to manage the risk of power system ***,a performance curve is developed to describe the cost,capacity,and response speed of ***,a clustering method for multiple distributed DFRs is conducted to calculate the aggregated performance curves and uncertainty ***,the frequency security criterion considering DFRs’performance is constructed,whose linearity makes it can be easily coupled into the system scheduling model and ***,a risk management model for DFRs considering frequency-chance-constraint is proposed to make a trade-off between cost and frequency ***,the model is transformed into mixed integer second-order cone programming(MISOCP)and solved by the commercial *** proposed model is validated by the IEEE 30 and IEEE 118 bus systems.

Robotic resection of duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumour:Preliminary experience from a single centre

BACKGROUND Experience in minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumors(DGISTs)is accumulating,but there is no consensus on the choice of surgical *** To summarize the technique and feasibility of robotic resection of *** The perioperative and demographic outcomes of a consecutive series of patients who underwent robotic resection and open resection of DGISTs between May 1,2010 and May 1,2020 were retrospectively *** patients were divided into the open surgery group and the robotic surgery ***(PD)or limited resection was performed based on the location of the tumour and the distance between the tumour and duodenal ***,sex,tumour location,tumour size,operation time(OT),estimated blood loss(EBL),postoperative hospital stay(PHS),tumour mitosis,postoperative risk classification,postoperative recurrence and recurrence-free survival were compared between the two *** Of the 28 patients included,19 were male and 9 were female aged 51.3±13.1 *** resection was performed in 17 patients,and PD was performed in 11 *** patients underwent open surgery,and 17 patients underwent robotic *** patients in the robotic surgery group underwent conversion to open *** the tumours were R0 resected,and there was no significant difference in age,sex,tumour size,operation mode,PHS,tumour mitosis,incidence of postoperative complications,risk classification,postoperative targeted drug therapy or postoperative recurrence between the two groups(P>0.05).OT and EBL in the robotic group were significantly different to those in the open surgery group(P0.05).CONCLUSION Robotic resection is safe and feasible for patients with DGI

Recent advancements in quantum photonic circuits have significantly influenced the field of quantum information *** pursuit of an integrated quantum photonic circuit that offers an active,stable platform for large-scale integration and high processing efficiency remains a key *** grating coupler,as a crucial element for an efficient transformation output interface in the integrated quantum photonic circuits,presents significant potential for practical ***,we demonstrate the integration block of a highly efficient shallow-etched focusing apodized grating coupler with indium arsenide(InAs)quantum dots(QDs)in gallium arsenide(GaAs)on a SiO2substrate for active quantum photonic *** designed grating couplers possess a high efficiency over 90% in the broadband(900-930 nm)from the circuit to free space,and a nearly-perfect match with the fiber ***,the efficiency to free space reaches 81.8%,and the match degree with the fiber mode is high up to 92.1%.The proposed integration block offers the potential for large-scale integration of active quantum photonic circuits due to its stable solid substrate and highly performant output for quantum measurements.

Impacts of proppant distribution on development of tight oil reservoirs with threshold pressure gradient

Field evidence indicates that proppant distribution and threshold pressure gradient have great impacts on well *** at the development of unconventional oil reservoirs in Triassic Chang-7 Unit,Ordos Basin of China,we presented an integrated workflow to investigate how(1)proppant placement in induced fracture and(2)non-linear flow in reservoir matrix would affect well productivity and fluid flow in the *** with our research before(yue et al.,2020),here we extended this study into the development of multi-stage fractured horizontal wells(MFHWs)with large-scale complicated fracture *** integrated workflow is based on the finite element method and consists of simulation models for proppant-laden fluid flow,fracture flow,and non-linear seepage flow,*** results indicate that the distribution of proppant inside the induced cracks significantly affects the productivity of the *** we assign an idealized proppant distribution instead of the real distribution,there will be an overestimation of 44.98%in daily oil rate and 30.63%in cumulative oil production after continuous development of 1000 ***,threshold pressure gradient(TPG)also significantly affects the well performance in tight oil *** we simply apply linear Darcy’s law to the reservoir matrix,the overall cumulative oil production can be overrated by 77%after 1000 days of *** general,this research provides new insights into the development of tight oil reservoirs with TPG and meanwhile reveals the significance of proppant distribution and non-linear fluid flow in the production scenario design.

Influence of self-similar stresses on scenario earthquake construction:An example along the Tanlu Fault

As a famous deep and large fault in eastern China,the Tanlu Fault passes through Anhui,Jiangsu,and Shandong and into northeastern *** is important to improve the understanding of seismic hazard assessments in areas near *** start a scenario earthquake simulation in the M7.5 earthquake potential area of the Xinyi-Sihong segment of the Tanlu *** fault rupture length and width are constrained according to the scaling law of large intraplate earthquakes,the background normal stress is depth dependent,and the initial shear stresses are determined using trial and error by matching the earthquake *** the 120 km rupture length of the M7.5 earthquake,we compare the horizontal uniform stress model and self-similar stress perturbation *** findings reveal that the seismic source time function of the horizontal uniform stress model is similar to that of the Haskell model and that of the self-similar stress perturbation model is more similar to that of a real earthquake *** compare the dynamic rupture simulation and ground motion results under four different stress conditions and find that the shorter the characteristic length of the self-similar function is,the rougher the initial *** the M7.5earthquake with an epicenter in the vicinity of Suqian,the Xinyi-Tancheng segment,which is located in the IX-intensity zone north of the epicenter,vibrates more strongly on the northern side than on the southern side due to the influence of the lowvelocity zone and the peak slip *** response spectra analysis at stations in the study area is useful for improving the earthquake resistance capability.

Profile grinding is the most crucial method for the ultra-precision machining of special-shaped ***,profile grinding produces a unique machining profile,and many random factors in the machining process lead to complex surface *** this study,the structural and probabilistic characteristics of the profile grinding of a special-shaped surface were analyzed,and a probabilistic algorithm for the forming and 3D characterization of special-shaped surfaces under profile grinding was *** forming process of a GH738 blade tenon tooth surface was considered as an example to demonstrate the *** comparison results showed that the simulation results had similar surface characteristics to the measurement results,and the relative error range of the 3D roughness parameter was 0.21%–19.76%,indicating an accurate prediction and characterization of the complex special-shaped surface under the action of multiple factors.

The coherent muon-to-electron transition(COMET)experiment is a leading experiment for the coherent conversion of μ^(-)N→e^(-)N using a high-intensity pulsed muon beamline,produced using innovative slow-extraction ***,it is critical to measure the muon beam *** set up a muon beam monitor(MBM),where scintillating fibers woven in a cross shape were coupled to silicon photomultipliers to measure the spatial profile and timing structure of the extracted muon beam for the *** MBM detector was tested successfully with a proton beamline at the China Spallation Neutron Source and took data with good performance in the commissioning *** development of the MBM,including its mechanical structure,electronic readout,and beam measurement results,are discussed.
