Identification and DNA Barcoding of a New Sillago Species in Beihai and Zhanjiang,China,with a Key to Related Species

A new Sillago species,Sillago parasihama sp.n.,is identified based on 127 specimens collected from the southern coast of China.We compared the morphological characters between Sillago parasihama and all other 11 Sillago species with two posterior extensions on the swim bladder.The new species is like S.sihama in the countable characters and color pattern,but is different from the latter by the distinct swim bladders.The swim bladder of S.parasihama is without lateral process.The posterior sub-extensions of anterolateral extensions are unique with some dendritic or sometimes stunted blind tubule,which are unilateral and outward,ex-tending along the abdominal,and are about one-third to half of the body of swim bladder in length.But the swim bladder of S.si-hama with 8-10 lateral processes,the posterior sub-extensions of anterolateral extensions are kinky,long and complicated,extend-ing along the abdominal wall below the peritoneum to the base of posterior extensions.S.parasihama can be distinguished from other species in this group by color pattern,meristic,and morphometric characters.Moreover,the results of genetic analysis using sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I(COI)fragment show significant interspecific-level genetic distances(0.159-0.231)between S.parasihama and 8 congeners in the group,which also support the validity of new species.We also provide a distribution map and a key of the related species.

Chemical vapor deposition(CVD)-grown graphene on copper foils is subject to the Cu substrate, which affects the spatial distribution of strain and doping, thus influencing the electronic properties of graphene. However, plenty of electronic devices based on CVD-grown graphene require transfer process and the distribution of doping and strain in CVD-grown graphene transferred onto the insulating substrates remains elusive.

Rapid analysis of metal ions and organic compounds in strong acidic solutions by nano-ESI mass spectrometry

Rapid analysis of metal ions and organic compounds in strong acidic solutions is of sustainable interest in multiple disciplines.However,complicated and time-consuming pretreatments are always required for MS analysis of the compounds in strong acidic solutions.Otherwise,it will result in a weak signal and cause serious damage to the mass spectrometer.Herein,a simple method inherited from nano-ESI MS was developed for rapid analysis of strong acidic solutions.Nanoliter(nL)strong acidic solution was first loaded in the nano-ESI emitter,followed by evaporation to remove the H+and leave the analytes on the wall of the nano-ESI emitter.The evaporation process can be completed within 1 min because of the extremely tiny volume(≤1 nL)of the loaded solution.Then,the dried analytes on the wall of the nano-ESI emitter were redissolved by loading a new solvent,followed by nano-ESI MS analysis.By using this method,metal ions and organic compounds in the strong acidic solution can be detected with low sample consumption(1 nL),high speed(90%).Proof-of-concept applications of the present method have been successfully achieved for the analysis of gastric juice(pH of the sample=1),monitoring reaction catalyzed by strong acid(pH of the system=0),and micro-area analysis of ores(pH of the extraction solvent=0),showing great application potential in multiple fields.

Roll profile electromagnetic control characteristics under roll heterogeneity

The electromagnetic control roll(ECR)and electromagnetic stick(ES)are the core elements and the main driving parts of roll profile electromagnetic control technology(RPECT).To prolong the service life,it is necessary to treat ECR and ES surfaces.According to the heterogeneous characteristics of surface treatments,the roll profile electromagnetic control characteristics were analyzed for different parameters.An electromagnetic-thermal-force coupled axisymmetric finite element model was built to explore the differences in performance as a result of several treatment strategies,and the model was verified by experimental results measured with a roll profile electromagnetic control experimental platform.This model was used to analyze the influence of the heterogeneity of ECR inner hole and ES on the roll crown,the roll profile,the average contact pressure,and the stress state during RPECT process.The results indicate that the heterogeneous layer at ECR inner hole has a restrictive effect on RPECT and that the heterogeneous layer of ES can enhance the profile control ability of RPECT.A reasonable configuration scheme between the heterogeneity of ECR inner hole and the ES can increase the life of ECR and maintain the control ability of RPECT.

During recovery from heat stress,plants clear away the heat-stress-induced misfolded proteins through the ubiquitin-proteasome system(UPS).In the UPS,the recognition of substrate proteins by E3 ligase can be regulated by the N-terminal acetyltransferase A(NatA)complex.Here,we determined that Arabidopsis STRESS-RELATED UBIQUITIN-ASSOCIATED-DOMAIN PROTEIN FACTOR 1(SUF1)interacts with the NatA complex core subunit NAA15 and positively regulates NAA15.The suf1 and naa15 mutants are sensitive to heat stress;the NatA substrate NSNC1 is stabilized in suf1 mutant plants during heat stress recovery.Therefore,SUF1 and its interactor NAA15 play important roles in basal thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.

Tight conglomerate reservoirs are featured with extremely low permeability,strong heterogeneity and poor water injectivity.CO_(2) huff-n-puff has been considered a promising candidate to enhance oil recovery in tight reservoirs,owing to its advantages in reducing oil viscosity,improving mobility ratio,quickly replenishing formation pressure,and potentially achieving a miscible state.However,reliable inhouse laboratory evaluation of CO_(2) huff-n-puff in natural conglomerate cores is challenging due to the inherent high formation pressure.In this study,we put forward an equivalent method based on the similarity of the miscibility index and Grashof number to acquire a lab-controllable pressure that features the flow characteristics of CO_(2) injection in a tight conglomerate reservoir.The impacts of depletion degree,pore volume injection of CO_(2) and soaking time on ultimate oil recovery in tight cores from the Mahu conglomerate reservoir were successfully tested at an equivalent pressure.Our results showed that oil recovery decreased with increased depletion degree while exhibiting a non-monotonic tendency(first increased and then decreased)with increased CO_(2) injection volume and soaking time.The lower oil recoveries under excess CO_(2) injection and soaking time were attributed to limited CO_(2) dissolution and asphaltene precipitation.This work guides secure and reliable laboratory design of CO_(2) huff-n-puff in tight reservoirs with high formation pressure.

Influence of microbial community structure of seed sludge on the properties of aerobic nitrifying granules

In order to evaluate the influence of microbial community structure of seed sludge on the properties of aerobic nitrifying granules, these granules were cultivated with different seed sludge, and the variation of microbial community and dominant bacterial groups that impact the nitrogen removal efficiency of the aerobic nitrifying granules were analyzed and identified using 16 s rDNA sequence and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis（DGGE） profiles. The results presented here demonstrated that the influence of the community structure of seed sludge on the properties of aerobic nitrifying granules was remarkable, and the granules cultivated by activated sludge from a beer wastewater treatment plant showed better performance, with a stable sludge volume index（SVI） value of 20 m L/g, high extracellular polymeric substance（EPS） content of 183.3 mg/L, high NH4＋-N removal rate of 89.42% and abundant microbial population with 10 dominant bacterial groups. This indicated that activated sludge with abundant communities is suitable for use as seed sludge in culturing aerobic nitrifying granules.

Bio-adhesive polysaccharide-based hydrogels have attracted much attention in first-aid hemostasis and wound healing for excellent biocompatibility,antibacterial property and pro-healing bioactivity.Yet,the inadequate mechanical properties and bio-adhesion limit their applications.Herein,based on dynamic covalent bonds,photo-triggered covalent bonds and hydrogen bonds,multifunctional bio-adhesive hydrogels comprising modified carboxymethyl chitosan,modified sodium alginate and tannic acid are developed.Multi-crosslinking strategy endows hydrogels with improved strength and flexibility simultaneously.Owing to cohesion enhancement strategy and self-healing ability,considerable bio-adhesion is presented by the hydrogel with a maximal adhesion strength of 162.6 kPa,12.3-fold that of commercial fibrin glue.Based on bio-adhesion and pro-coagulant activity(e.g.,the stimulative aggregation and adhesion of erythrocytes and platelets),the hydrogel reveals superior hemostatic performance in rabbit liver injury model with blood loss of 0.32 g,only 54.2%of that in fibrin glue.The healing efficiency of hydrogel for infected wounds is markedly better than commercial EGF Gel and Ag+Gel due to the enhanced antibacterial and antioxidant properties.Through the multi-crosslinking strategy,the hydrogels show enhanced mechanical properties,fabulous bio-adhesion,superior hemostatic performance and promoting healing ability,thereby have an appealing application value for the first-aid hemostasis and infected wound healing.

Simulation of the erosion of casing and perforation under staged sand fracturing conditions in horizontal sections

The new fracturing technology of intensive stages and high-intensity proppant injection shows significant advantages of cost reduction and high efficiency in the volume fracturing of unconventional reservoirs,but it also intensifies the erosion of the casing and the perforations,with a perforation diameter expansion and the casing wall thinning.To solve this problem,in view of the applications of the perforation fracturing technology under the construction conditions in Mahu Area in Xinjiang,China,the structure parameters of the downhole strings are measured and a calculation model of the perforation casing erosion is established for the large-displacement sand fracturing process in horizontal sections.The software ANSYS-FLUENT is used to simulate the casing and perforation erosion under different conditions of the displacement,the sand content,the proppant particle size,and the fracturing fluid viscosity in the sand fracturing process.The particle size of the proppant and the viscosity of the fracturing fluid mainly affect the erosion area,but they have little influence on the erosion rate.The sand content and the displacement significantly affect the erosion rate.Among these factors,the sand content has a more significant effect on the erosion rate and the displacement has a more significant effect on the erosion area.Due to the influence of gravity,the perforation erosion rate is larger when the phase angle ranges from 120°to 240°.
