OBJECTIVE:To test the hypothesis that moxibustion may inhibit rheumatoid arthritis(RA)synovial inflammation by regulating the expression of macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF)/glucocorticoids(GCs).METHODS:Fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups(n=10 each):blank Control(CON)group,RA Model(RA)group,Moxibustion(MOX)group,MIF inhibitor(S,R)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-5-isoxazole acetic acid methyl ester(ISO-1)group,and Moxibustion+MIF inhibitor ISO-1(MOX+ISO-1)*** in the ISO-1 group and ISO-1+MOX group were intraperitoneally injected with the inhibitor *** rats in the RA group,ISO-1 group,MOX group,and ISO-1+MOX group were injected with Freund's complete adjuvant(FCA)in the right hind footpad to establish an experimental RA rat *** the MOX group and MOX+ISO-1 group,rats were treated with *** thickness of the footpads of the rats in each group was measured at three-time points before,after modeling and after moxibustion *** contents of serum MIF,corticosterone(CORT),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay;and the contents of synovial MIF were detected by Western ***-eosin(HE)staining method was used to observe the pathological changes of synovial tissue under a section light microscope,and pathological scoring was performed according to the grading standard of the degree of synovial tissue ***:Moxibustion was found to reduce the level of MIF and alleviate inflammation in RA rats in this *** addition,after inhibiting the expression of MIF,the level of CORT increased,and the level of TNF-α *** RA rats with inhibited MIF by moxibustion,the level of CORT was almost unchanged,but the level of TNF-α further *** correlation analysis data suggested that MIF was positively related to the expression of TNF-α and negatively correlated with the expression of ***:Reducing MIF to

In-situ measurement via the flow-through method and numerical simulations for radon exhalation during measurements of the radon exhalation rate

Small-scale measurements of the radon exhalation rate using the flow-through and closed-loop methods were conducted on the surface of a uranium tailing pond to better understand the differences between the two *** abnormal radon exhalation behavior was observed,leading to computational fluid dynamics(CFD)-based simulations in which dynamic radon migration in a porous medium and accumulation chamber was *** on the in-situ experimental and numerical simulation results,variations in the radon exhalation rate subject to permeability,flow rate,and insertion depth were quantified and *** in-situ radon exhalation rates measured using the flow-through method were higher than those measured using the closed-loop method,which could be explained by the negative pressure difference between the inside and outside of the chamber during the *** consistency of the variations in the radon exhalation rate between the experiments and simulations suggests the reliability of CFD-based techniques in obtaining the dynamic evolution of transient radon exhalation rates for diffusion and convection at the porous medium-air *** synergistic effects of the three factors(insertion depth,flow rate,and permeability)on the negative pressure difference and measured exhalation rate were quantified,and multivariate regression models were established,with positive correlations in most cases;the exhalation rate decreased with increasing insertion depth at a permeability of 1×10^(−11) m^(2).CFD-based simulations can provide theoretical guidance for improving the flow-through method and thus achieve accurate measurements.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in adult patients with sepsis and septic shock: Why, how, when, and for whom

Sepsis and septic shock remain the leading causes of death in intensive care *** patients with sepsis fail to respond to routine treatment and rapidly progress to refractory respiratory and circulatory failure,necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO).However,the role of ECMO in adult patients with sepsis has not been fully *** to existing studies,ECMO may be a viable salvage therapy in carefully selected adult patients with *** choice of venovenous,venoarterial,or hybrid ECMO modes is primarily determined by the patient’s oxygenation and hemodynamics(distributive shock with preserved cardiac output,septic cardiomyopathy(left,right,or biventricular heart failure),or right ventricular failure caused by acute respiratory distress syndrome).Veno-venous ECMO can be used in patients with sepsis and severe acute respiratory distress syndrome when conventional mechanical ventilation fails,and early application of veno-arterial ECMO in patients with sepsis-induced refractory cardiogenic shock may be critical in improving their chances of *** ECMO is indicated,the choice of an appropriate mode and determination of the optimal timing of initiation and weaning are critical,particularly in an experienced ECMO ***,some special issues,such as ECMO flow,anticoagulation,and antibiotic therapy,should be noted during the management of ECMO support.

Porous nanocomposites with enhanced intrinsic piezoresistive sensitivity for bioinspired multimodal tactile sensors

In this work,we propose porous fluororubber/thermoplastic urethane nanocomposites(PFTNs)and explore their intrinsic piezoresistive sensitivity to *** experiments reveal that the intrinsic sensitivity of the PFTN-based sensor to pressure up to 10 kPa increases up to 900%compared to the porous thermoplastic urethane nanocomposite(PTN)counterpart and up to 275%compared to the porous fluororubber nanocomposite(PFN)*** pressures exceeding 10 kPa,the resistance-pressure relationship of PFTN follows a logarithmic function,and the sensitivity is 221%and 125%higher than that of PTN and PFN,*** the excellent intrinsic sensitivity of the thick PFTN film,a single sensing unit with integrated electrode design can imitate human skin for touch detection,pressure perception and traction *** sensing range of our multimodal tactile sensor reaches~150 Pa,and it exhibits a linear fit over 97%for both normal pressure and shear *** also demonstrate that an electronic skin,made of an array of sensing units,is capable of accurately recognizing complex tactile interactions including pinch,spread,and tweak motions.

Taiji-TianQin-LISA network:Precisely measuring the Hubble constant using both bright and dark sirens

In the coming decades,the space-based gravitational-wave(GW)detectors such as Taiji,TianQin,and LISA are expected to form a network capable of detecting millihertz GWs emitted by the mergers of massive black hole binaries(MBHBs).In this work,we investigate the potential of GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network in constraining cosmological *** the optimistic scenario in which electromagnetic(EM)counterparts can be detected,we predict the number of detectable bright sirens based on three different MBHB population models,i.e.,popⅢ,Q3d,and *** results show that the TaijiTianQin-LISA network alone could achieve a constraint precision of 0.9%for the Hubble constant,meeting the standard of precision ***,the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network could effectively break the cosmological parameter degeneracies generated by the CMB data,particularly in the dynamical dark energy *** combined with the CMB data,the joint CMB+Taiji-TianQin-LISA data offerσ(w)=0.036 in the wCDM model,which is close to the latest constraint result obtained from the CMB+SN *** also consider a conservative scenario in which EM counterparts are not *** to the precise sky localizations of MBHBs by the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network,the constraint precision of the Hubble constant is expected to reach 1.2%.In conclusion,the GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network will play a critical role in helping solve the Hubble tension and shedding light on the nature of dark energy.

Application of a concrete thermal pile in cooling the warming permafrost under climate change

Permafrost degradation caused by climate warming is posing a serious threat to the stability of cast-in-place pile foundations in warm permafrost *** cold energy can be effectively utilized by two-phase closed thermosyphons(TPCTs)to cool the ***,we installed TPCTs in a cast-in-place pile foundation to create a unique structure called a thermal pile,which effectively utilizes the TPCTs to regulate ground *** we conducted a case study and numerical simulation to exhibit the cooling performance,and optimize the structure of the thermal *** purpose of this study is to promote the application of thermal piles in unstable permafrost *** on the findings,the thermal pile operated for approximately 53%of the entire year and effectively reduced the deep ground temperature at a rate of at least-0.1℃per ***,it successfully raised the permafrost table that is 0.35 m shallower than the natural ground *** characteristics prove highly beneficial in mitigating the adverse effects of permafrost degradation and enhancing infrastructure *** the length of the condenser section and the diameter of the TPCT in a suitable manner can effectively enhance the cooling capability of the thermal pile and ensure the long-term mechanical stability of the pile foundation even under climate warming.

Although there have been significant advances in the treatment of heart failure in recent years,chronic heart failure remains a leading cause of cardiovascular disease-related *** studies have found that targeted cardiac metabolic remodeling has good potential for the treatment of heart ***,most of the drugs that increase cardiac energy are still in the theoretical or testing *** research has found that botanical drugs not only increase myocardial energy metabolism through multiple targets but also have the potential to restore the balance of myocardial substrate *** this review,we summarized the mechanisms by which botanical drugs(the active ingredients/formulas/Chinese patent medicines)improve substrate utilization and promote myocardial energy metabolism by activating AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors(PPARs)and other related *** the same time,some potential protective effects of botanical drugs on myocardium,such as alleviating oxidative stress and dysbiosis signaling,caused by metabolic disorders,were briefly discussed.

Cocycle Hopf algebra structures on free modified Rota-Baxter algebras by vertex-decorated rooted trees

A modified Rota-Baxter operator originates from the convolution theorem for the Hilbert transformation by Tricomi. It also satisfies the modified classical yang-Baxter equation discovered by Semenov-Tian-Shansky, and is applied to Lax equations and affine geometry of Lie groups later. In this paper, we provide an alternative explicit construction of free modified Rota-Baxter associative algebras from the perspective of combinatorial objects. First, we revisit a construction of free operated bialgebra structure on vertex-decorated rooted forests via a variant of the Hochschild 1-cocycle *** an isomorphism between two kinds of free operated algebras given by different carriers, we construct free modified Rota-Baxter algebras on vertex-decorated rooted forests. We then obtain a combinatorial coproduct on the free modified Rota-Baxter algebra by means of the universal property of free operated algebras, leading to a cocycle bialgebra structure and further a cocycle Hopf algebra structure on it.

Lacustrine shale oil and gas are important fields for unconventional exploration and development in China,and organic-rich shale deposition lays down the critical foundation for hydrocarbon *** are two sets of shale,the Dongyuemiao and Da’anzhai Members,in the Ziliujing Formation in the Sichuan *** identify the differential enrichment characteristics of organic matter and clarify its controlling factors,geochemical analyses of organic and inorganic geochemical analyses were *** results showed that the total organic carbon content of the Dongyuemiao shale(1.36%)is slightly higher than that of the Da’anzhai shale(0.95%).The enrichment of organic matter in the two shales resulted from the comprehensive controls of paleoproductivity,paleoenvironment,and terrigenous input,but different factors have different *** addition,driven by climate,the change in the sulfate concentration in the bottom water further led to the different intensities of bacterial sulfate reduction in early *** made a great difference regarding organic matter accumulation in the two *** general,climate may have played a dominant role in organic matter enrichment in the two sets of shale.
