Proposal for valleytronic materials:Ferrovalley metal and valley gapless semiconductor

Valleytronic materials can provide new degrees of freedom to future electronic *** this work,the concepts of the ferrovalley metal(FVM)and valley gapless semiconductor(VGS)are proposed,which can be achieved in valleytronic bilayer systems by electric field *** valleytronic bilayer systems,the interaction between out-of-plane ferroelectricity and A-type antiferromagnetism can induce layer-polarized anomalous valley Hall(LP-AVH)*** K and−K valleys of FVM are both metallic,and electron and hole carriers simultaneously *** the extreme case,the FVM can become VGS by analogizing spin gapless semiconductor(SGS).Moreover,it is proposed that the valley splitting enhancement and valley polarization reversal can be achieved by electric field engineering in valleytronic bilayer *** the bilayer RuBr_(2)as an example,our proposal is confirmed by the first-principle *** FVM and VGS can be achieved in bilayer RuBr_(2)by applying electric *** appropriate electric field range,increasing electric field can enhance valley splitting,and the valley polarization can be reversed by flipping electric field *** effectively tune valley properties by electric field in bilayer systems,the parent monolayer should possess out-of-plane magnetization,and have large valley *** results shed light on the possible role of electric field in tuning valleytronic bilayer systems,and provide a way to design the ferrovalley-related material by electric field.

Correlation-driven threefold topological phase transition in monolayer OsBr_(2)

Spin–orbit coupling(SOC)combined with electronic correlation can induce topological phase transition,producing novel electronic ***,we investigate the impact of SOC combined with correlation effects on physical properties of monolayer OsBr_(2),based on first-principles calculations with generalized gradient approximation plus U(GGA+U)*** intrinsic out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy,OsBr_(2)undergoes threefold topological phase transition with increasing U,and valleypolarized quantum anomalous Hall insulator(VQAHI)to half-valley-metal dxy dx2−y2 dz2¯6m2(HVM)to ferrovalley insulator(FVI)to HVM to VQAHI to HVM to FVI transitions can be *** topological phase transitions are connected with sign-reversible Berry curvature and band inversion between/and *** to symmetry,piezoelectric polarization of OsBr_(2)is confined along the in-plane armchair direction,and only one d11 is *** a given material,the correlation strength should be fixed,and OsBr_(2)may be a piezoelectric VQAHI(PVQAHI),piezoelectric HVM(PHVM)or piezoelectric FVI(PFVI).The valley polarization can be flipped by reversing the magnetization of Os atoms,and the ferrovalley(FV)and nontrivial topological properties will be suppressed by manipulating out-of-plane magnetization to in-plane *** considered reasonable U range,the estimated Curie temperatures all are higher than room *** findings provide a comprehensive understanding on possible electronic states of OsBr_(2),and confirm that strong SOC combined with electronic correlation can induce multiple quantum phase transition.

Enhancing Evolutionary Algorithms With Pattern Mining for Sparse Large-Scale Multi-Objective Optimization Problems

Sparse large-scale multi-objective optimization problems(SLMOPs)are common in science and ***,the large-scale problem represents the high dimensionality of the decision space,requiring algorithms to traverse vast expanse with limited computational ***,in the context of sparse,most variables in Pareto optimal solutions are zero,making it difficult for algorithms to identify non-zero variables *** paper is dedicated to addressing the challenges posed by *** start,we introduce innovative objective functions customized to mine maximum and minimum candidate *** substantial enhancement dramatically improves the efficacy of frequent pattern *** this way,selecting candidate sets is no longer based on the quantity of nonzero variables they contain but on a higher proportion of nonzero variables within specific ***,we unveil a novel approach to association rule mining,which delves into the intricate relationships between non-zero *** novel methodology aids in identifying sparse distributions that can potentially expedite reductions in the objective function *** extensively tested our algorithm across eight benchmark problems and four real-world *** results demonstrate that our approach achieves competitive solutions across various challenges.

Training Learning Strategies to Develop Listening Comprehension in Interpretation for Non-English Majors

This study intends to examine the problems that affect non-English majors in listening comprehension and in interpretation, and the potential factors that could influence their listening achievements, and puts forwards some possible solutions for the improvement in terms of the relationship between learning strategies and listening comprehension. An interview as a guide and a close-ended questionnaire were administered to 30 students of non-English majors who had chosen the optional course for interpretation in the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Findings provide evidence that we could and should train L2 （second language） learners strategies to gain language competence

Optimal Design of High-Speed Partial Flow Pumps using Orthogonal Tests and Numerical Simulations

To investigate the influence of structural parameters on the performances and internal flow characteristics of partial flow pumps at a low specific speed of 10000 rpm,special attention was paid to the first and second stage impeller guide ***,the impeller blade outlet width,impeller inlet diameter,blade inclination angle,and number of blades were considered for orthogonal ***,nine groups of design solutions were formed,and then used as a basis for the execution of numerical simulations(CFD)aimed at obtaining the efficiency values and heads for each design solution *** influence of impeller geometric parameters on the efficiency and head was explored,and the“weight”of each factor was obtained via a range *** structural parameters were finally chosen on the basis of the numerical simulation results,and the performances of the optimized model were verified accordingly(yet by means of CFD).Evidence is provided that the increase in the efficiency and head of the optimized model was 12.11%and 23.5 m,respectively,compared with those of the original model.

Herein, the influence of the concentration design and comprehensive performance of the sulfate-phosphoric mixed acid system electrolyte is investigated to realize an electrolyte that maintains high energy density and stable operation at high temperatures. Static stability tests have shown that VOPO4 precipitation occurs only with vanadium(V) electrolyte. The concentration of vanadium ion of 2.0–2.2 mol·L^(–1), phosphoric acid of 0.10–0.15 mol·L^(–1), and sulfuric acid of 2.5–3.0 mol·L^(–1) are suitable for a vanadium redox flow battery in the temperature range from –20 to 50 ℃. The equations for predicting the viscosity and conductivity of electrolytes are obtained by the response surface method. The optimized electrolyte overcomes precipitation generation. It has 2.8 times higher energy density than the non-phosphate electrolyte, and a coulomb efficiency of 94.0% at 50 ℃. The sulfate-phosphoric mixed acid system electrolyte promotes the electrode reaction process, increases the current density, and reduces the resistance. This work systematically optimizes the concentrations of composition of positive and negative vanadium electrolytes with mixed sulfate-phosphoric acid. It provides a basis for the different valence states and comprehensive properties of sulfate-phosphoric mixed acid system vanadium electrolytes under extreme environments, guiding engineering applications.

Microstructure and water-swelling mechanism of red-bed mudstone in the Xining region,Northeastern Tibetan Plateau

This paper examines the effect of the microstructure and electrical conductivity(EC)on the swelling ratio and pressure in red-bed mudstone sampled from arid areas in the Xining region in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.A series of laboratory tests,including swelling experiments,X-ray diffraction(XRD),and scanning electron microscope(SEM),was carried out for mechanical and microstructural *** coupled influence of the EC and microstructural parameters on the expansion ratio and pressure was investigated,and the weight coefficients were discussed by the entropy weight *** results revealed an increasing exponential trend in EC,and the maximum swelling speed occurred at an EC of approximately 10 μS/*** addition,a method for predicting the expansion potential is proposed based on the microstructure,and its reliability is verified by comparing with swelling experimental *** addition,according to the image analysis results,the ranges of the change in the clay minerals content(CMC),the fractal dimension(FD),the average diameter(AD)of pores,and the plane porosity(PP)are 23.75%-53%,1.08-1.17,7.53-22.45 mm,and 0.62%-1.25%,***,mudstone swelling is negatively correlated with the plane porosity,fractal dimension and average diameter and is linearly correlated with the clay mineral ***,the weight values prove that the microstructural characteristics,including FD,AD,and PP,are the main factors influencing the expansion properties of red-bed mudstones in the Xining *** on the combination of macro and micro-analyses,a quantitative analysis of the swelling process of mudstones can provide a better reference for understanding the mechanism of expansion behavior.

Survival Analysis of Patients Undergoing Intraoperative Contrast-enhanced Ultrasound in the Surgical Treatment of Malignant Glioma

Objective:Complete resection of malignant gliomas is often *** previous study indicated that intraoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound(ICEUS)could aid in the detection of residual tumor remnants and the total removal of brain *** study aimed to investigate the survival rates of patients undergoing resection with or without the use of ICEUS and to assess the impact of ICEUS on the prognosis of patients with malignant ***:A total of 64 patients diagnosed with malignant glioma(WHO grade HI and IV)who underwent surgery between 2012 and 2018 were *** them,29 patients received *** effects of ICEUS on overall survival(OS)and progression-free survival(PFS)of patients were evaluated.A quantitative analysis was performed to compare ICEUS parameters between gliomas and the surrounding ***:The ICEUS group showed better survival rates both in OS and PFS than the control *** univariate analysis revealed that age,pathology and ICEUS were significant prognostic factors for PFS,with only age being a significant prognostic factor for *** multivariate analysis,age and ICEUS were significant prognostic factors for both OS and *** quantitative analysis showed that the intensity and transit time of microbubbles reaching the tumors were significantly different from those of microbubbles reaching the surrounding ***:ICEUS facilitates the identification of residual *** and ICEUS are prognostic factors for malignant glioma surgery,and use of ICEUS offers a better prognosis for patients with malignant glioma.

A new liquid membrane diffusion model for characterizing the adsorption kinetics of europium by using a continuous measurement of adsorption platform

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental ***, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using *** results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

Efficient removal of tetracycline hydrochloride through novel Fe/BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) photocatalyst prepared by dual-strategy under visible-light irradiation
