The state of supranuclear matter in compact stars remains puzzling,and it is argued that pulsars could be strangeon *** consequences of merging double strangeon stars are worth exploring,especially in the new era of multi-messenger *** develop the"strangeon kilonova"scenario proposed in Paper I,we make a qualitative description about the evolution of ejecta and light curves for merging double strangeon *** the hot environment of the merger,the strangeon nuggets ejected by tidal disruption and hydrodynamical squeezing would suffer from evaporation,in which process particles,such as strangeons,neutrons and protons,are *** into account both the evaporation of strangeon nuggets and the decay of strangeons,most of the strangeon nuggets would turn into neutrons and protons,within dozens of milliseconds after being *** evaporation rates of different particles depend on temperature,and we find that the ejecta could end up with two components,with high and low opacity *** high opacity component would be in the directions around the equatorial plane,and the low opacity component would be in a broad range of angular *** bolometric light curves show that the spin-down power of the long-lived remnant would account for the whole emission of kilonova AT2017gfo associated with GW170817,if the total ejected mass 10^(-3)M⊙.The detailed picture of merging double strangeon stars is expected to be tested by future numerical simulations.

An Information Entropy-Based Methodology to Construct the Avulsion Threshold in the Tail Reach of the Estuarine Alluvial Plain

Channel avulsion is a natural phenomenon that occurs abruptly on alluvial river deltas,which can affect the channel *** causes for avulsion could be generally categorized as topography-and flood-driven ***,previous studies on avulsion thresholds usually focused on topography-driven factors due to the centurial or millennial avulsion timescales of the world’s most deltas,but neglected the impacts of flood-driven *** the current study,a novel demarcation equation including the two driven factors was proposed,with the decadal timescale of avulsion being considered in the Yellow River Estuary(YRE).In order to quantify the contributions of different factors in each category,an entropy-based methodology was used to calculate the contributing weights of these *** factor with the highest weight in each category was then used to construct the demarcation equation,based on avulsion datasets associated with the *** avulsion threshold was deduced according to the demarcation *** avulsion threshold was then applied to conduct the risk assessment of avulsion in the *** results show that:two dominant factors cover respectively geomorphic coefficient representing the topography-driven factor and fluvial erosion intensity representing the flood-driven factor,which were thus employed to define a two dimensional mathematical space in which the demarcation equation can be obtained;the avulsion threshold derived from the equation was also applied in the risk assessment of avulsion;and the avulsion threshold proposed in this study is more accurate,as compared with the existing thresholds.

Riboflavin concentration in corneal stroma after intracameral injection

AIM: To evaluate the enrichment of riboflavin in the corneal stroma after intracameral injection to research the barrier ability of the corneal endothelium to riboflavin in ***: The right eyes of 30 New Zealand white rabbits were divided into three groups. Different concentrations riboflavin-balanced salt solutions(BSS)were injected into the anterior chamber(10 with 0.5%, 10 with 1%, and 10 with 2%). Eight corneal buttons of 8.5mm in diameter from each group were dissected at 30 min after injection and the riboflavin concentrations in the corneal stroma were determined using high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) after removing the epithelium and endothelium. The other two rabbits in every group were observed for 24 h and sacrificed. As a comparison, the riboflavin concentrations from 16 corneal stromal samples were determined using HPLC after instillation of 0.1% riboflavin-BSS solution for30 min on the corneal surface(8 without epithelium and 8with intact epithelium).RESULTS: The mean riboflavin concentrations were11.19, 18.97, 25.08, 20.18, and 1.13 μg/g for 0.5%, 1%, 2%,de-epithelialzed samples, and the transepithelial groups,respectively. The color change of the corneal stroma and the HPLC results showed that enrichment with riboflavin similar to classical de-epithelialized corneal collagen crosslinking(CXL) could be achieved by intracameral 1%riboflavin-BSS solution after 30min; the effect appeared to be continuous for at least 30 ***: Riboflavin can effectively penetrate the corneal stroma through the endothelium after an intracameral injection in vivo, so it could be an enhancing method that could improve the corneal riboflavin concentration in transepithelial CXL.

A novel framework for predicting non-stationary production time series of shale gas based on BiLSTM-RF-MPA deep fusion model

Shale gas, as an environmentally friendly fossil energy resource, has gained significant commercial development and shows immense potential. However, accurately predicting shale gas production faces substantial challenges due to the complex law of decline, nonlinear and non-stationary features in production data, which greatly repair the robustness of current models in predicting shale gas production time series. To address these challenges and improve accuracy in production forecasting, this paper introduces a novel and innovative approach: a hybrid proxy model that combines the bidirectional long short-term memory(BiLSTM) neural network and random forest(RF) through deep learning. The BiLSTM neural network is adept at capturing long-term dependencies, making it suitable for understanding the intricate relationships between input and output variables in shale gas *** the other hand, RF serves a dual purpose: reducing model variance and addressing the concept drift problem that arises in non-stationary time series predictions made by BiLSTM. By integrating these two models, the hybrid approach effectively captures the inherent dependencies present in long and nonstationary production time series, thereby reducing model uncertainty. Furthermore, the combination of BiLSTM and RF is optimized using the recently-proposed marine predators algorithm(MPA) to fine-tune hyperparameters and enhance the overall performance of the proxy model. The results demonstrate that the proposed BiLSTM-RF-MPA model achieves higher prediction accuracy and demonstrates stronger generalization capabilities by effectively handling the complex nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics of shale gas production time series. Compared to other models such as LSTM, BiLSTM, and RF, the proposed model exhibits superior fitting and prediction performance, with an average improvement in performance indicators exceeding 20%. The present study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of magnetic-activated cell sorting(MACS)in sperm preparation for male subjects with a sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI)≥30%.A total of 86 patients who had undergone their first long-term long protocol were *** protocol involved in vitro fertilization(IVF)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)cycles,and the patients were divided into the MACS or control *** MACS group included sperm samples analyzed with MACS that were combined with density gradient centrifugation(DGC)and the swim-up(SU)technique(n=39),and the control group included sperm samples prepared using standard techniques(DGC and SU;n=41).No differences were noted with regard to basic clinical characteristics,number of oocytes retrieved,normal fertilization rate,cleavage rate,or transplantable embryo rate between the two groups in IVF/*** addition,the clinical pregnancy and implantation rates of the first embryo transfer cycles indicated no significant differences between the two ***,there was a tendency to improve the live birth rate(LBR)of the first embryo transfer cycle(63.2%vs 53.9%)and the cumulative LBR(79.5%vs 70.7%)in the MACS group compared with the control ***,the number of transferred embryos(mean±standard deviation[s.d.]:1.7±0.7 vs 2.3±1.6)and the transfer number of each retrieved cycle(mean±s.d.:1.2±0.5 vs 1.6±0.8)were significantly lower in the MACS group than those in the control ***,the selection of nonapoptotic spermatozoa by MACS for higher sperm DFI could improve assisted reproductive clinical outcomes.

Neuroligins Differentially Mediate Subtype-Specific Synapse Formation in Pyramidal Neurons and Interneurons

Neuroligins(NLs) are postsynaptic cell-adhesion proteins that play important roles in synapse formation and the excitatory-inhibitory balance. They have been associated with autism in both human genetic and animal model studies, and affect synaptic connections and synaptic plasticity in several brain regions. Yet current research mainly focuses on pyramidal neurons, while the function of NLs in interneurons remains to be understood. To explore the functional difference among NLs in the subtypespecific synapse formation of both pyramidal neurons and interneurons, we performed viral-mediated shRNA knockdown of NLs in cultured rat cortical neurons and examined the synapses in the two major types of neurons. Our results showed that in both types of neurons, NL1 and NL3 were involved in excitatory synapse formation, and NL2 in GABAergic synapse formation. Interestingly, NL1 affectedGABAergic synapse formation more specifically than NL3,and NL2 affected excitatory synapse density preferentially in pyramidal neurons. In summary, our results demonstrated that different NLs play distinct roles in regulating the development and balance of excitatory and inhibitory synapses in pyramidal neurons and interneurons.

Roasting Properties of Pellets With Iron Concentrate of Complex Mineral Composition

Investigation was conducted on roasting properties of pellets with an iron concentrate of complex mineral composition. The results indicated that the pellets of complex mineral composition concentrate required higher pre- heating temperature and longer preheating time than that of single magnetite concentrate. Therefore, it is difficult for preheated pellets to withstand the mechanical collision in the roasting process in rotary kiln. It was found that after the iron concentrate being subjected to high pressure roll grinding, the specific surface area reached 2 029. i cm2/g. Consequently, the preheating and roasting temperature of pellets were decreased by 70 and 50 ℃ and preheating and roasting time were decreased by 2 and 4 min, respectively. Meanwhile, the compression strength of preheated and roasted pellets were increased by 200 N for a pellet and 220 N for a pellet, respectively. The mechanism lied in that the increase of specific surface area activated thermal reaction and promoted formation of inter-grain bridge.

On Strong Embeddability and Finite Decomposition Complexity

The strong embeddability is a notion of metric geometry, which is an intermediate property lying between coarse embeddability and property A. In this paper, we study the permanence properties of strong embeddability for metric spaces. We show that strong embeddability is coarsely invariant and it is closed under taking subspaces, direct products, direct limits and finite unions. Furthermore, we show that a metric space is strongly embeddable if and only if it has weak finite decomposition complexity with respect to strong embeddability.

Analyzing Forest Effects on Runoff and Sediment Production Using Leaf Area Index
