A new method which employs a group pulse power supply for electric discharge milling of the silicon carbide ceramic with the resistivity of 500 Ω·cm is presented. Due to the good machining stability and high pulse utilization, the material removal rate (MRR) can reach 72.9 mm3/min. The effects of high-frequency pulse duration, high-frequency pulse interval, peak voltage, peak current, polarity, rotate speed and group frequency on the process performance have been investigated. Also the EDMed surface microstructure is examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM), an X-ray diffraction (XRD), an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and a micro hardness tester. The results show that the conditions of smaller high-frequency pulse duration and pulse interval, higher peak voltage and peak current, and positive tool polarity are suitable for machining the SiC ceramic. The optimal rotate speed is 1090 r/min and the preferable group frequency is 730 Hz. In addition, there is a small quantity of iron on machined surface when machining with steel electrode. The average grain size of the EDMed surface is smaller than that of the unprocessed, and the micro hardness of machined surface is superior to that of the unprocessed.

Unsaturated fatty acids are widely distributed in natural edible resources, and have various uses and biological activities. However, no relevant review on unsaturated fat acids from natural edible resources has been found. Therefore, this paper reviewed unsaturated fatty acids in natural edible resources, including the classification and resources of unsaturated fatty acids, biosynthetic pathway, biological activities and application. It was found that unsaturated fatty acids have good therapeutic value in preventing oxidative stress, inflammation, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer and osteoporosis. This paper will provide reference for the study of unsaturated fatty acids in natural edible resources.

Dear Editor,The pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is closely associated with the infection of Epstein Barr virus(EBV)(Hau et al.,2020).However,the mechanisms underlying NPC tumorigenesis remain unclear,leading to a lack of therapeutic targets to effectively treat *** helicase MTR4,which is a compo-nent of the virus-induced cofactor complex linking viral RNA to exosome for degradation,is overexpressed in NPCs of *** expression levels of MTR4 are inversely correlated with the prognosis of NPC patients.

In situ FTIR investigation on phase transformations in BN nanoparticles

Fourier transformation infrared spectrum (FTIR) was employed to investigate phase transformation of nanoparticle BN, containing eBN, rBN, wBN and cBN, in which eBN and rBN are the main components. We found that part of eBN was converted into rBN at 200―350℃. At and above 400℃, eBN transformed into wBN, and some of wBN were converted into cBN simultaneously. This conclusion is supported by the results from high- resolution transmission electron microscopic (HRTEM) and Raman spectroscopic measurements. In this work, the converting processes be- tween different BN phases were continuously monitored by in situ FTIR spectroscopy. The results will be helpful for synthesis of cBN at moderate conditions.
