Optimal Time-of-use Pricing for Renewable Energy-powered Microgrids: A Multi-agent Evolutionary Game Theory-based Approach

While price schedules can help improve the economic efficiency of renewable energy-powered microgrids,timeof-use(TOU)pricing has been identified as an effective way for microgrid development,which is presently limited by its high costs.In this study,we propose an evolutionary game theoretic model to explore optimal TOU pricing for development of renewable energy-powered microgrids by applying a multi-agent system,that comprises a government agent,local utility company agent,and different types of consumer agents.In the proposed model,we design objective functions for the company and the consumers and obtain a Nash equilibrium using backward induction.Two pricing strategies,namely,the TOU seasonal pricing and TOU monthly pricing,are evaluated and compared with traditional fixed pricing.The numerical results demonstrate that TOU schedules have significant potential for development of renewable energy-powered microgrids and are recommended for an electric company to replace traditional fixed pricing.Additionally,TOU monthly pricing is more suitable than TOU seasonal pricing for microgrid development.

In the tapping-mode atomic force microscope(TM-AFM),the probe tip continuously taps the sample surface,which may cause plastic deformation of the sample and result in energy dissipation.The energy dissipation of the probe is closely related to the scanned phase image.To quantify the energy dissipation due to plastic indentations of the sample,this study utilized a combination of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations and experiments on single-crystal copper samples,including multiple nano-indentation tests.The energy dissipation of the probe due to the plastic deformation of the sample was calculated by integrating the hysteresis curve of the indentation depth versus the force applied to the indenter.The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.Both sets of results have demonstrated that the plastic energy dissipation decreases as the number of indentations increases,and eventually the energy of the probe tends to stabilize.This equilibrium energy dissipation is associated with other dissipation mechanisms.Furthermore,it was observed that,after hundreds of taps,the dissipated energy of plastic deformation could be ignored,implying that the scanned image may not reflect the plasticity information of the sample after multiple taps of the probe on the sample surface for scanning.

The formation of ice on the leading edge of aircraft engines is a serious issue,as it can have catastrophic consequences.The Swirl Anti-Icing(SAI)system,driven by ejection,circulates hot fluid within a 360°annular chamber to heat the engine inlet lip surface and prevent icing.This study employs a validated Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)approach to study the impact of key geometric parameters of this system on flow and heat transfer characteristics within the anti-icing chamber.Additionally,the entropy generation rate and exergy efficiency are analyzed to assess the energy utilization in the system.The research findings indicate that,within the considered flow range,reducing the nozzle specific areaφfrom 0.03061 to 0.01083 can enhance the ejection coefficient by over 60.7%.This enhancement increases the air circulating rate,thereby intensifying convective heat transfer within the SAI chamber.However,the reduction inφalso leads to a significant increase in the required bleed air pressure and a higher entropy generation rate,indicating lower exergy efficiency.The nozzle angleθnotably affects the distribution of hot and cold spots on the lip surface of the SAI chamber.Increasingθfrom 0°to 20°reduces the maximum temperature difference on the anti-icing chamber surface by 60 K.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a chronic neurodegenerative disorder,and early diagnosis plays a crucial role in its prevention and treatment.In recent years,blood-based biomarkers for early AD diagnosis have gained attention due to their non-invasiveness and minimal adverse reactions,which make them an attractive approach.Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic,visiting large medical examination centers for blood tests has become increasingly challenging.The trend is shifting towards community or home-based sampling,which relies on the development and application of portable,miniaturized,and highly sensitive sensors.Among the various sensors used for detecting blood biomarkers in AD,printed sensors demonstrate great potential in AD blood biomarker detection due to their ease of miniaturization,scalability for mass production,and compatibility with various detection methods.In this review,we focus on discussing the application of printed sensors in the analysis of blood biomarkers for AD.We also explore the challenges faced by printed sensors in early diagnosis based on AD blood biomarkers and propose potential solutions to address these challenges.

The Brillouin scattering is one of the strongest nonlinear optical effects in dielectrics[1].In particular,the backward Brillouin scattering(BBS)provides an efficient method to achieve low-noise optical gain for active photonics[2]and the coherent interconnects between 10 GHz phonons and photons[3].However,previous studies on BBS are primarily limited to the unconfined phonons[1]or phonon confined in suspended structures[4-6].

BACKGROUND The birth of large-for-gestational-age(LGA)infants is associated with many shortterm adverse pregnancy outcomes.It has been observed that the proportion of LGA infants born to pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)is significantly higher than that born to healthy pregnant women.However,traditional methods for the diagnosis of LGA have limitations.Therefore,this study aims to establish a predictive model that can effectively identify women with GDM who are at risk of delivering LGA infants.AIM To develop and validate a nomogram prediction model of delivering LGA infants among pregnant women with GDM,and provide strategies for the effective prevention and timely intervention of LGA.METHODS The multivariable prediction model was developed by carrying out the following steps.First,the variables that were associated with LGA risk in pregnant women with GDM were screened by univariate analyses,for which the P value was<0.10.Subsequently,Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator regression was fit using ten cross-validations,and the optimal combination factors were se-lected by choosing lambda 1se as the criterion.The final predictors were deter-mined by multiple backward stepwise logistic regression analysis,in which only the independent variables were associated with LGA risk,with a P value<0.05.Finally,a risk prediction model was established and subsequently evaluated by using area under the receiver operating characteristic curve,calibration curve and decision curve analyses.RESULTS After using a multistep screening method,we establish a predictive model.Several risk factors for delivering an LGA infant were identified(P<0.01),including weight gain during pregnancy,parity,triglyceride-glucose index,free tetraiodothyronine level,abdominal circumference,alanine transaminase-aspartate aminotransferase ratio and weight at 24 gestational weeks.The nomogram’s prediction ability was supported by the area under the curve(0.703,0.709,and 0.699 for the training cohort,validation cohort,and tes

Onboard air separation devices,based on hollow fiber membranes,are traditionally used for the optimization of aircraft fuel tank inerting systems.In the present study,a set of tests have been designed and executed to assess the air separation performances of these systems for different air inlet temperatures(70°C∼110°C),inlet pressures(0.1∼0.4 MPa),volume flow rates of nitrogen-enriched air(NEA)(30∼120 L/min)and flight altitudes(1.5∼18 km).In particular,the temperature,pressure,volume flow rate,and oxygen concentration of air,NEA and oxygen-enriched air(OEA)have been measured.The experimental results show that the oxygen concentration of NEA,air separation coefficient,and nitrogen utilization coefficient decrease with the rising of air inlet temperature,air inlet pressure,and flight altitude.The effect of air inlet pressure on the above three parameters is significant,while the influence of air inlet temperature and flight altitude is relatively small.

N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is a ubiquitous RNA modification in mammals.This modification is“written”by methyltransferases and then“read”by m^(6)A-binding proteins,followed by a series of regulation,such as alternative splicing,translation,RNA stability,and RNA translocation.At last,the modification is“erased”by demethylases.m^(6)A modification is essential for normal physiological processes in mammals and is also a very important epigenetic modification in the development of cancer.In recent years,cancer-related m^(6)A regulation has been widely studied,and various mechanisms of m^(6)A regulation in cancer have also been recognized.In this review,we summarize the changes of m^(6)A modification in prostate cancer and discuss the effect of m6A regulation on prostate cancer progression,aiming to profile the potential relevance between m^(6)A regulation and prostate cancer development.Intensive studies on m^(6)A regulation in prostate cancer may uncover the potential role of m^(6)A methylation in the cancer diagnosis and cancer therapy.
