Quantitative differentiation of phenolic compounds in different varieties of buckwheat cultivars from China, Japan and Korea

The aim of this study was to determine the variation of phenolic compounds in common and tartary buckwheats collected from China, Japan and Korea. Two buckwheat varieties of each country were cultivated using nutrient solution and vermiculite in the greenhouse from February to May, 2012 and harvested at two-week intervals. Phenolics such as chlorogenic acid, C-glycosylflavones (orientin, isoorientin, vitexin, and isovitexin), rutin, and quercetin were quantified using high performance liquid chroma-tography (HPLC). At 17, 29, 44, 58, and 72 days after sowing (DAS), before harvesting each organs, rutin content of cultivars from China and Korea at 17 DAS was the highest (mean 43.63 and 39.95 mg?g–1 DW, respectively) than that of 29 and 44 DAS. however, two varieties from Japan at 44 DAS were documented maximum;whereas, the amount of rutin in “hokkai T10” harvested at 44 DAS (58.36 mg?g–1 DW) was the highest of all cultivars. Rutin level in the leaves and stems at 72 DAS were comparatively higher than at 58 DAS. The highest of rutin content was found at 72 DAS (73.33 mg?g–1 DW) in “hokkai T10” leaves followed by “Daegwan No.3-3” (61.13 mg?g–1 DW), “rice tartary” (53.89 mg?g–1 DW). Rutin content of flowers was presented as the highest amount in “hokkai T10” at 72 DAS (88.3 mg?g–1 DW) was approximately 14-fold higher than that of 58 DAS (6.44 mg?g–1 DW). however, rutin content of flower in “Xiqiao No.2” was 3-fold higher at 72 DAS than at 58 DAS. Rutin and total phenolic compounds content in flowers, leaves, and stems were higher in the order. The content of four C-glycosylflavones in common buckwheat was higher than those in tartary buckwheat, but rutin content which accounted >90% of the total phenolic compounds was higher in tartary buckwheat. The highest amounts of chlorogenic acid and quercetin were measured in the flower of “Xiqiao No.2” (6.85 and 11.69 mg?g–1 DW, respectively). The prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents (aged 2–18 years) has increased rapidly, with more than 100 million affected in 2015. Moreover, the epidemic of obesity in this population has been an important public health problem in developed and developing countries for the following reasons. Childhood and adolescent obesity tracks adulthood obesity and has been implicated in many chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, childhood and adolescent obesity is linked to adulthood mortality and premature death. Although an imbalance between caloric intake and physical activity is a principal cause of childhood and adolescent obesity, environmental factors are exclusively important for development of obesity among children and adolescents. In addition to genetic and biological factors, socioenvironmental factors, including family, school, community, and national policies, can play a crucial role. The complexity of risk factors for developing obesity among children and adolescents leads to difficulty in treatment for this population. Many interventional trials for childhood and adolescent obesity have been proven ineffective. Therefore, early identification and prevention is the key to control the global epidemic of obesity. Given that the proportion of overweight children and adolescents is far greater than that of obesity, an effective prevention strategy is to focus on overweight youth, who are at high risk for developing obesity. Multifaceted, comprehensive strategies involving behavioral, psychological, and environmental risk factors must also be developed to prevent obesity among children and adolescents.

Flexible Zn-based batteries have attracted increasing research interest as essential components of wearable energy storage ***,the advancement of flexible aqueous Zn-based batteries based on Co-Ni layered double hydroxide （CoNi-LDH） as the cathode material is hampered by their poor cycling stability and the corrosiveness of alkaline ***,CoNi-LDH nanosheets enriched with H vacancies (CoNi-LDH（v）) were constructed on a flexible carbon cloth （CC） substrate via electrochemical deposition and *** Zn-based battery comprising CoNi-LDH（v）@CC as the cathode exhibited highly reversible conversion reactions and stable operation in 3 M ZnSO4electrolyte （pH=4）.The battery delivered an excellent specific capacity (225 mA h g-1,0.26 mA h cm-2),acceptable cycling stability（53.9%,900 cycles）,and high discharging *** abundant H vacancies served as active sites for the reversible intercalation of Zn2+and the extravasation of NO3-generated channels and space for Zn2+transport and storage,together enabling an excellent Zn2+storage ***,a sandwich-structured solid-state CoNi-LDH（v）@CC//Zn@CC battery was fabricated and was found to exhibit a noteworthy electrochemical performance and mechanical *** a proof of concept,the unencapsulated battery powered a digital watch under various deformation conditions and operated stably for 80 ***,the flexible battery displayed outstanding customizability,maintaining an open-circuit voltage of 1.42 V even after being cut *** proposed engineering strategy contributes to the realization of textiles with truly wearable energy-storage devices.

The processing of high strength Al wrought alloys does lead either to restrictions for geometrical complexity or to high production costs due to low productivity and multiple-step processes. Thixoextrusion process to overcome these difficulties has been under investigation. In the present study, the effect of thixoextrusion parameters was investigated on mechanical properties of 7003 Al wrought alloy. The maximum extrusion pressure of the thixoextrusion process is three times lower than that of the hot extrusion process. The elongated grains which have the axisymmetry with extrusion direction are generally observed during hot extrusion process, while the microstructures of the thixoextruded are isotropic. The tensile and yield strengthes of the thixoextruded bar are lower than those of the hot extruded bar, while the elongation value of the thixoextruded bar is higher than that of the hot extruded bar.

Silicon nanowires（SiNWs） encapsulated with graphene-like carbon sheath（GS） having a void space in between（SiNW@V@GS） are demonstrated for the improved electrochemical performance of Si anode in lithium ion battery. The Si NW@V@GS structure was synthesized by a scalable fabrication method including four successive reactions： metal-catalyzed CVD growth of Si NWs, controlled thermal oxidation, and deposition of the graphitic layer, to form Si NW@SiO2@GS and additional chemical etching of sacrificial SiO2 layer between Si NWs and carbon sheath. During the synthetic process, the thickness of the void spacing was controlled by adjusting the oxidation-dependent process. The well-controlled void space and crystalline graphitic carbon sheath of the SiNW@V@GS structure enable good reversible capacity of1444 m Ahg^（-1） and cycling stability of 85% over 150 cycles.

Aluminum welding using a hybrid system with a laser and scanner welding head was performed under various welding conditions to verify the feasibility of applying an aluminum alloy to a car *** experimental material was 5J32 aluminum alloy,and the laser power,welding speed,and laser incidence angle were used as the control *** weld bead shape and the tensile shear strength were evaluated in order to understand the aluminum lap joint weld *** of variance (ANOVA) was conducted to identify the effect of the process variables on the tensile shear *** strength estimation models using three different regression models were also *** input variables were the laser power,welding speed,and laser incidence angle,and the output was the tensile shear *** the models,the second-order polynomial estimation model had the best estimation performance,and the average error rate of this model was 0.058.

This paper presents a macroscopic constitutive model reproducing the hysteretic behaviors of the superelastic shape memory alloy (SMA) under cyclic loading. The progressive increase of residual strain with the increased cycle number in such materials is assumed to be a consequence of the progressive increase of residual stress-induced martensitic volume fraction upon the cyclic effects. The progressive decrease of phase transformation critical stresses with the increased cycle number in such materials is assumed to be a result from the progressive increase of phase transformation critical temperatures upon the cyclic effects. A cyclic evolution equation is supposed to describe the influences of cycle effects on the material properties of the SMA under cyclic loading. A phase transformation equation expressing the phase transformation behaviors of the SMA under cyclic loading is established based on the differential relationship between martensitic volume fraction and the free energy increment of phase transformation. A mechanical constitutive equation predicting the mechanical characteristics of the SMA under cyclic loading is developed on the basis of thermodynamics and continuum mechanics. The cyclic evolution equation, phase transformation equation, and mechanical constitutive equation together compose the presented macroscopic constitutive model considering cyclic effects. Results of the numerical simulations illustrate that it can well reproduce the superelastic hysteretic behaviors of the SMA under cyclic loading.
