Atmospheric escape is an essential process that affects the evolution of the proto-atmosphere.The atmospheric escape of early terrestrial planets was extremely rapid compared with the current scenarios,and the main atmospheric escape modes were also quite different.During the dissipation of the nebula disk,the primordial atmosphere experienced a brief but violent"boiling"escape,in which most of the primordial atmosphere was lost.After the nebula disk dissipates,hydrodynamic escape and impact erosion are the two most important mass-loss mechanisms for the proto-atmosphere.Hydrodynamic escape is a rapid atmospheric escape process caused by strong solar radiation,while impact erosion refers to the process in which small-large or giant impacts erode the proto-atmosphere.In the early solar system,there were other escape mechanisms,such as non-thermodynamic escape and Jeans escape,but it is generally believed that these mechanisms have relatively little impact.Here we systematically introduce the above-mentioned atmospheric escape mechanisms and then make some suggestions for the existing problems and future research for atmospheric escape models.

The Earth’s accretion process is accompanied by a large number of collisions.It is widely accepted that collisions dominate the Earth’s late accretion stage.Among all these collisions,there is a special type of collision called Core-merging giant impact(CMGI),in which much or most the impactor’s core merges directly with the protoEarth’s core.This core-merging scenario plays an important role in the Earth’s accretion process and deeply affects the formation of the Earth’s core and mantle.However,because CMGI is a small probability event,it has not been fully studied.Here we use the SPH method to comprehensively study all possible CMGIs in the Earth’s accretion history.We find that CMGI only occurs in the initial conditions with small impact angle,small impact velocity and big impactor.We further discuss the implications of CMGI.We are confident that CMGI inevitably causes the chemical disequilibrium of the Earth’s core and mantle.The CMGI process also brings many light elements into the Earth’s core.In particular,if the Moon-forming giant impact is a CMGI,then CMGI can also explain the abnormal content of HSEs in the Earth’s current mantle.

The adenosine deaminase acting on RNA(ADAR)protein family was well characterized as RNA editing enzymes converting adenosines to inosines(A-to-l)in dsRNA structures.They share a homologous structure including the dsRNA-binding domain and the deaminase domain.ADAR1 function as the primary editing enzyme for A-to-l mutation because of its higher and ubiquitous expression compared to ADAR2 and ADAR3 in eukaryotes.

The Interfacial phenomena in mold have a great impact on the smooth operation of continuous casting process and the quality of the casting product.In this paper,the wetting behavior of CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold flux with different BaO and MgO contents was studied.The results showed that the contact angle between molten flux and interstitial free(IF)steel substrate increased from 62.4°to 74.5°with the increase of BaO content from 3 wt%to 7 wt%,while it decreased from 62.4°to 51.3°with the increase of MgO content from 3 wt%to 7 wt%.The interfacial tension also increased from 1630.3 to 1740.8 mN/m when the BaO content increased,but it reduced from 1630.3 to 1539.7 mN/m with the addition of MgO.The changes of contact angle and interfacial tension were mainly due to the fact that the bridging oxygen(O^(0)) at the interface was broken into non-bridging oxygen(O^(-)) and free oxygen(O_(2-)) by MgO.However,more O^(-) and O_(2-) connected into O^(0) when BaO was added,since the charge compensation effect of BaO was so stronger that it offset the effect of providing O_(2-).

The development of modern science and technology requires high magnetic fields exceeding 25 T.Second-generation high-temperature superconducting wires,i.e.REBCO(REBa2Cu3O7-x,RE refers to Y,Gd,Dy,Eu and other rare-earth elements) coated conductors(CCs),have become the first choice for high-field magnet construction because of their high irreversible magnetic field.The mechanical stresses caused by manufacturing,thermal mismatch and Lorenz forces closely influence electromagnetic performance during operation for REBCO CCs.In addition,the recently studied screen currents have effects on the mechanical characteristics of high-field REBCO magnets.In this review,the experimental and main theoretical works on critical current degradation,delamination and fatigue,and shear investigations on REBCO CCs,are reviewed at first.Then,research progress on the screening-current effect in the development of high-field superconducting magnets is introduced.Finally,the key mechanical problems facing the future development of high-field magnets based on REBCO CCs are prospected.

Up-regulation of P2X7 Receptors Contributes to Spinal Microglial Activation and the Development of Pain Induced by BmK-I

Previous work has demonstrated that the sensitization of spinal neurons and microglia is important in the development of pain behaviors induced by BmK I,a Na^+ channel activator and a major peptide component of the venom of the scorpion Buthus martensi Karsch(BmK).We found that the expression of P2X7 receptors(P2X7Rs)was up-regulated in the ipsilateral spinal dorsal horn after BmK I injection in rats.P2X7R was selectively localized in microglia but not astrocytes or neurons.Similarly,interleukin 1β(IL-1β)was selectively up-regulated in microglia in the spinal dorsal horn after BmK I injection.Intrathecal injection of P2X7R antagonists largely reduced BmK I-induced spontaneous and evoked pain behaviors,and the up-regulation of P2X7R and IL-1β in the spinal cord.These data suggested that the up-regulation of P2X7Rs mediates microglial activation in the spinal dorsal horn,and therefore contributes to the development of BmK I-induced pain.

The inherent brittleness and low sustainability of YBa2Cu3O7-x(YBCO) bulk superconductor seriously impede its wide applications.It is a great challenge to achieve toughening of this material and maintain its invariable superconductivity at the same time.Here,we fabricate bulk YBCO composite superconductor with a density of 2.15 g cm-3,which consists of interlocking dual network construction and shows high toughness and durability.The results show that its unit normalized fracture energy at 77 K reaches638.6 kN m-2,which is～14.8 times that of YBCO bulk prepared by the top-seeded melt textured growth(TSMTG) method.Its critical current shows no degradation during the toughening process.Moreover,after 10 000 cycles,the sample does not fracture with the decay of critical current at 4 K of 14.6% whereas the TSMTG sample fractures only after 25 cycles.

Image and video stitching have made tremendous progress in the construction of wide field-of-view(FOV). However, some long-term challenges still exist, including wide baselines between cameras,large parallaxes, and low texture in overlapping areas. The augmented virtual environment(AVE) captures videos as live textures of 3D models in a virtual environment, and provides another 3D solution to overcome the aforementioned challenges. Existing AVE methods primarily follow from video projection, and cannot produce satisfactory stitching results compared with image stitching. In this paper, we propose a novel model-guided 3D stitching algorithm for AVE. The algorithm recovers an approximate 3D model for each video streaming and optimizes the warping of the models to meet the requirements of feature point matching of the 3D models from adjacent videos. Compared with previous state-of-the-art methods, experiment results illustrate that our method significantly improves the stitching quality.
