Present status of the JT-60SA （JT-60 Super Advanced） project, implemented jointly by Europe and Japan since 2007, is described. The design of the main tokamak components was completed in late 2008, and all the scientific missions are preserved to contribute to ITER and DEMO reactors. The construction of the JT-60SA has begun with procurement activities for the superconducting magnet systems, vacuum vessel, in-vessel components and other components under the relevant procurement arrangements between the implementing agencies of JAEA （Japan Atomic Energy Agency） in Japan and Fusion for Energy in Europe. Designs and developments of the auxiliary heating systems for JT-60SA have been progressing at JAEA so as to provide the total injection power of 41 MW for 100 s.

Condensed matters with high ionic conductivities are crucial in various solid devices such as solid-state batteries. The conduction ischaracterized by the cooperative ionic motion associated with the high carrier density. However, the high cost of computingcorrelated ionic conductivities has forced almost all ab initio molecular dynamics (MD) to rely on the Nernst–Einstein dilute-solutionapproximation, which ignores the cross-correlation effect. Here we develop a chemical color-diffusion nonequilibrium MD (CCD-NEMD) method, which enables to calculate the correlated conductivities with fewer sampling steps than the conventional MD. ThisCCD-NEMD is demonstrated to well evaluate the conductivities in the representative solid electrolyte bulk Li10GeP2S12 andLi_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12). We also applied CCD-NEMD to the grain boundary of Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12) and demonstrated its applicability for calculatinginterfacial local conductivities, which is essential for investigating grain boundaries and composite electrolytes. CCD-NEMD canprovide further accurate understanding of ionics with ionic correlations and promote developing solid devices.

Heat-ray absorbing film is used to be bonded on the existing sheet glasses of the *** is effective for air-conditioning energy saving against the global warming,because it absorbs heat-ray in the thin film and decreases the incoming heat-ray into the *** the other hand,the sheet glasses increase the temperature at the surface which the sheet is bonded and sometimes yield heat cracks by thermal *** is important to know the state of thermal stresses accurately in order to develop the heat-ray absorbing film with higher performance and without heat *** this paper,the analysis model is treated as the two-layer plate of the conventional soda sheet glass and the heat-ray absorbing film with different *** unsteady temperature and thermal stresses are analyzed and calculated *** influence of the patch side,which the heat-ray absorbing film is bonded at the exterior side or the interior side,on the heat-ray absorbing performance and the thermal stresses is *** is found that the alternative patch side has no effect on the heat-ray absorbing performance and that the patch side is recommended to be interior side from a view point of decreasing thermal stresses against the heat crack of glasses.

The conversion of glucose to hydrogen was evaluated using continuous stirred tank reactor at pH 5.5 with various hydraulic retention times （HRT） at 30℃. Furthermore, the population dynamics of hydrogen-producing bacteria was surveyed by fluorescence in-situ hybridization using probe Clost IV targeting the genus Clostridium based on 16S rRNA. It was clear that positive correlation was observed between the cells quantified with probe Clost IV and hydrogen yield of the respective sludge. The numbers of hydrogen- producing bacteria were decreased gradually with increasing HRT, were 9.2 × 10^8, 8.2 × 10^8, 2.8 × 10^8, and 6.2 × 10^7 cell/mL at HRT 6, 8, 12, and 14 h, respectively. The hydrogen yield was 1.4-1.5 mol H2/mol glucose at the optimum HRT range 6-8 h. It is considered that the percentage of the hydrogen-producing bacteria to total bacteria is useful parameter for evaluation of hydrogen production process.

Recently, we achieved atomic-resolution optical imaging with near-field scanning optical microscopy using photon-induced force detection. In this technique, the surface photovoltage of the silicon-tip apex induced by the optical near field on the surface is measured as the electrostatic force. We demonstrated atomicresolution imaging of the near field on the α-Al2O3 （0001） surface of a prism. We investigated the spatial distribution of the near field by scanning at different tip-sample distances and found that the atomic corrugation of the near-field signal was observed at greater distances than that of the atomic force microscopy signal. As the tip-sample distance increased, the normalized signal-to-noise ratio of the near field is in a gradual decline almost twice that of the frequency shift （Δf）.
