Glycan targeting nanoparticle for photodynamic immunotherapy of melanoma

Interaction between tumour cells and macrophages enables cancer cells to evade immune detection and clearance by interfering with macrophage *** anti-phagocytic signals regulated by anti-phagocytic proteins are termed"don't eat me"signals;these signals include sialic acidbinding immunoglobulin-type lectin-10(Siglec-10)and the recently revealed CD24 immune checkpoint(ICP).In this study,we demonstrate that targeting a specific glycan on CD24 exhibits the potential to inhibit *** nigra agglutinin(SNA),a sialic acid-binding lectin,was employed to block CD24 and to enhance phagocytosis in melanoma *** addition,we prepared SNA-conjugated hollow gold-iron oxide nanoparticles for photothermal therapy of *** findings show that the combination treatment of SNA-conjugated photothermal nanoparticles and near-infrared exposure successfully augments tumour cell phagocytosis both in vitro and in vivo models.

Recently,pre-trained language representation models such as bidirec-tional encoder representations from transformers(BERT)have been performing well in commonsense question answering(CSQA).However,there is a problem that the models do not directly use explicit information of knowledge sources existing *** augment this,additional methods such as knowledge-aware graph network(KagNet)and multi-hop graph relation network(MHGRN)have been *** this study,we propose to use the latest pre-trained language model a lite bidirectional encoder representations from transformers(ALBERT)with knowledge graph information extraction *** also propose to applying the novel method,schema graph expansion to recent language ***,we analyze the effect of applying knowledge graph-based knowledge extraction techniques to recent pre-trained language models and conﬁrm that schema graph expansion is effective in some ***,we show that our proposed model can achieve better performance than existing KagNet and MHGRN models in CommonsenseQA dataset.

Decomposition of Nitrogen Trifluoride Using Low Power Arc Plasma

The low power arc plasma is characterized by extremely high enthalpy and temper- ature and it is easy to generate and control, and thus thermal decomposition process based on the plasma torch is receiving a great attention for decomposing non-degradable greenhouse gases. In order to elevate the economic feasibility, the effects of input power, waste gas flow rate and additive gases on the destruction and removal efficiency （DRE） of NF3 are examined. Specific energy density （SED） deceases as the flow rate increases, and accordingly, the DRE is reduced. The DRE is basically determined by the specific energy density. The highest DRE of NF3 was 97% for the waste gas flow rate of 100 L/min at a low input power level of 2 kW with the help of hydrogen additional gas. The inlet and outlet concentration of NF3 was analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） for DRE of NF3 evaluation. As a result, large amount of NF3 can be efficiently decomposed by low power arc plasma systems.

Mechanical alloying of platinum with 5% ZrO_2 nanoparticles for glass making tools

Synthesis and characterization of mechanically alloyed Pt-5%ZrO2(volume fraction) for structural components in the glass industry were described. Zirconia(ZrO2) nanoparticles(<100 nm) were produced by the electrical explosion of zirconium(Zr) wires, and blended with platinum(Pt) powders(<44 ?m) for 2-72 h in ambient atmosphere. The Pt particle size followed the typical decreasing trend of the normal ball milling process up to 48 h, but particle agglomeration was observed at 72 h. The grain size evolution was similar to that of the particle size, dropping down to around 50 nm at 48 h. The root mean square strain of the Pt crystallites showed the opposite behavior, maximizing at 48 h with a subsequent relaxation process. For the 48 h ball milled powders, spark plasma sintering was carried out to form a bulk disk. The measured mass loss of the sintered bulk sample shows a decent thermal stability despite its relatively low density.
