Role of nitric oxide in biological effects of vascular endothelial growth factor

To evaluate the role of nitric oxide in the biological effects of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and the possible mechanism of VEGF,the in vitro cultured vascular endothelial cells of rabbit aorta were divided into control group,VEGF-treated group and VEGF+N-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester(L-NAME)-treated *** absorbance(A)value of vascular endothelial cells and the levels of prostaglandin(PGI2),endothelin-1(ET-1)and von Willebrand factor(vWF)in the supernatant were observed by water-soluble tetrazo-lium salt assay,radioimmunoassay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** A values and PGI2 in VEGF-treated group and VEGF+L-NAME-treated group were higher than those in control group(Pliferation and secretion of PGI2 and inhibit the secretion of ET-1 and vWF in vascular endothelial cells and that L-NAME could inhibit the effect of VEGF *** oxide is an important mediator in the process of stimulating prolifera-tion and regulating secretion of vascular endothelial cells by VEGF.

Topological insulators are most frequently constructed using lattices with specific degeneracies in their linear spectra,such as Dirac *** a broad class of lattices,such as honeycomb ones,these points and associated Dirac cones generally appear in non-equivalent *** breakup of the time-reversal and inversion symmetry in systems based on such lattices may result in the formation of the unpaired Dirac cones in bulk spectrum,but the existence of topologically protected edge states in such structures remains an open *** a photonic Floquet insulator on a honeycomb lattice with unpaired Dirac cones in its spectrum is introduced that can support unidirectional edge states appearing at the edge between two regions with opposite sublattice *** properties of this system are characterized by the nonzero valley Chern ***,edge states in this system can circumvent sharp corners without inter-valley scattering even though there is no total forbidden gap in the *** results reveal unusual interplay between two different physical mechanisms of creation of topological edge states based on simultaneous breakup of different symmetries of the system.

Coaxial-disk transitions can generate non-uniform magnetic fields and abrupt impedance variations in magnetically insulated transmission lines(MITLs),resulting in disturbed electron flow and non-negligible current *** this paper,3 D particle-in-cell simulations are conducted with UNPIC-3 d to investigate the current loss mechanism and the influence of the input parameters of the coaxial-disk transition on current loss in an MITL *** results reveal that the magnetic field non-uniformity causes major current loss in the MITL after the coaxialdisk transition,and the non-uniformity decreases with the distance away from the *** uniformity of the magnetic field is improved when increasing the number of feed lines of a linear transformer driver-based accelerator with coaxial-disk *** number of input feed lines should be no less than four in the azimuthal distribution to obtain acceptable uniformity of the magnetic *** make the ratio of the current loss to the total current of the accelerator less than 2%at peak anode current,the ratio of the current in each feed line to the total current should be no less than 8%.

Objective: To explore characteristics and influencing factors for blood pressure variability (BPV) in aged patients with H type hypertension. Methods: A total of 100 patients with essential hypertension, who were treated in our hospital from December 2012 to Decem-ber 2013, were selected. According to serum level of homocysteine (Hcy), patients were divided into pure hypertension group (n = 42, Hcy linear regression analysis was used to analyze influencing factors for BPV indexes. Results: Compared with pure hypertension group, there were significant increases in 24 h systolic blood pressure standard deviation [24hSSD, (12.80 ± 2.23) vs. (16.01 ± 3.11)], daytime SSD [dSSD, (11.58 ± 2.30) vs. (13.86 ± 2.26)] and nighttime SSD [nSSD, (9.41 ± 1.64) vs. (11.71 ± 2.34)] in H type hypertension group, p lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were significantly positively correlated with 24hSSD, dSSD and nSSD (r = 0.201-0.508, p linear regression analysis indicated that Hcy and TC were significantly positively correlated with 24hSSD, dSSD and nSSD (B = 0.194-0.546, p lic BPV in aged patients with H type hypertension was significantly higher than that of patients with pure hypertension, their serum Hcy level, TC elevating level were significantly positively correlated with systolic BPV and were major influencing factors for BPV in these patients.

Poyang Lake is the largest inland freshwater lake in China and contains many species of wild birds and *** conducted a survey of avian influenza viruses in nine semi-artificial waterfowl farms in Poyang Lake during January to March of *** of 1036 cloacal swabs collected,three H3N2 and one H4N6 influenza viruses were isolated from healthy *** the isolates were genetically and phylogenetically *** analysis of putative HA cleavage sites showed that all the four isolates possessed the molecular characteristics(QTRGL for H3N2 viruses,PEKASR for H4N6 virus) of lowly pathogenic avian influenza(LPAI) *** phylogenetic analysis of the viral genomes showed that all four virus isolates clustered in the Eurasian clade of influenza *** M gene of the viruses possessed the highest homology with highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza *** addition,co-infection of H3N2 and H4N6 in the same farm was *** interestingly,we isolated two subtypes viruses(H3N2 and H4N6) and their progeny virus(H3N2) with evidence of genome reassortment from the same farm,in which the PB1 and PB2 gene segments of H4N6 replaced those of the H3N2 *** results of animal infection experiments showed that all the four isolated viruses were lowly pathogenic to chickens and not pathogenic to mice,which was consistent with the results of genetic analysis.
