Hygroscopic properties of sodium and potassium salts as related to saline mineral dusts and sea salt aerosols

Mineral dust,soil,and sea salt aerosols are among the most abundant primary inorganic aerosols in the atmosphere,and their hygroscopicity affects the hydrological cycle and global *** investigated the hygroscopic behaviors of six Na-and K-containing salts commonly found in those primary organic *** hygroscopic growths as a function of relative humidity(RH) agree well with thermodynamic model *** dependence of deliquescence RH(DRH) values for five of those salts was also investigated,which are comparable to those in literature within 1%-2% RH,most showing negative dependence on *** growth curves of real-world soil and sea salt samples were also *** hygroscopic growths of two more-hydroscopic saline soil samples and of sea salt can be predicted by the thermodynamic model based on the measured water-soluble ionic *** substantial amounts of water-soluble ions,including Na+and K+,in saline soil samples imply that even nascent saline soil samples are quite hygroscopic at high-RH(>80%) *** three less-hygroscopic dust samples,however,measurements showed higher water uptake ability than that predicted by the thermodynamic *** small amount of water taken up by less-hygroscopic dust samples suggests that dust particles might contain thin layers of water even to very low *** results of this study provide a comprehensive characterization of the hygroscopicity of Na-and K-containing salts as related to their roles in the hygroscopic behaviors of saline mineral dusts and sea salt aerosols.

Deep Brain Stimulation of the Globus Pallidus Internus in Patients with Intractable Tourette Syndrome： A 1-year Follow-up Study

Background： Deep brain stimulation （DBS） has been a promising treatment for patients with refractory Tourette syndrome （TS） for more than a decade. Despite successful DBS treatment of TS in more than 100 patients worldwide, studies with a large patient sample and long-term follow-up assessments are still scarce. Accordingly, we investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of globus pallidus internus （GPi） DBS in the treatment of intractable TS in 24 patients with a 1-year follow-up assessment. Methods： Bilateral/unilateral GPi-DBS was performed in 24 patients with TS. We evaluated symptoms of tics and obsessive-compulsive disorder （OCD） through the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale （YGTSS） and Yale-Brown Obsessive-compulsive Scale （Y-BOCS）. We used the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised in China （WAIS-RC） to evaluate the safety of the treatment. We conducted follow-up assessments of all patients for at least 12 months （12-99 months）. Results： Symptoms of tics and OCD were significantly relieved at a 12-month follow-up assessment. The mean YGTSS score was 74.04 ± 11.52, 49.83 ± 10.91, 32.58 ± 7.97, and 31.21 ± 8.87 at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months, respectively. The mean YGTSS scores obtained at the follow-up assessments were significantly different from the baseline （P 〈 0.05）. The improvement in motor tics was superior to that in phonic tics. The mean Y-BOCS scores were 21.61 ± 4.97, 18 ± 4.58, 14.39 ± 3.99, and 13.78 ± 4.56 at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months, respectively （P 〈 0.05）. We observed a remarkable improvement in psychiatric comorbidities, such as OCD and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, after the procedure. WAIS-RC scores were comparable before and after the operation. There were no severe postoperative complications. Conclusion： GPi-DBS appears to comprehensively alleviate tic symptoms and psychiatric comorbidities in patients with TS, thus significantly improving patients＇ quality of life.

Bonding Interface Imaging and Shear Strength Prediction by Ultrasound1

The propagation of a longitudinal ultrasonic wave normally incident upon an adhesively bonded structure is stud- ied. The structure consists of adherend and adhesive layers with finite thickness. Interfaces between adherend and adhesive are regarded as distributed springs. Theoretical and experimental results show that resonant frequencies of the bonded structure vary sensitively with the interface stiffness constants and adhesive thickness, and these interface characteristics are inversed by the simulation annealing （SA） method. Furthermore, the distribution image of interface stiffnesses is compared with the state of fracture interface, and quantitative prediction of shear strength is achieved based on the distribution of interface stiffnesses and adhesive thicknesses by using a back- propagation neutral network. The average relative error of the shear strength from prediction to real value is 10.7%.

Intelligent risk identification of gas drilling based on nonlinear classification network

During the transient process of gas drilling conditions,the monitoring data often has obvious nonlinear fluctuation features,which leads to large classification errors and time delays in the commonly used intelligent classification *** with the structural features of data samples obtained from monitoring while drilling,this paper uses convolution algorithm to extract the correlation features of multiple monitoring while drilling parameters changing with time,and applies RBF network with nonlinear classification ability to classify the *** the training process,the loss function component based on distance mean square error is used to effectively adjust the best clustering center in *** field applications show that,the recognition accuracy of the above nonlinear classification network model for gas production,water production and drill sticking is 97.32%,95.25%and 93.78%.Compared with the traditional convolutional neural network(CNN)model,the network structure not only improves the classification accuracy of conditions in the transition stage of conditions,but also greatly advances the time points of risk identification,especially for the three common risk identification points of gas production,water production and drill sticking,which are advanced by 56,16 and 8 *** has won valuable time for the site to take correct risk disposal measures in time,and fully demonstrated the applicability of nonlinear classification neural network in oil and gas field exploration and development.

Soil organic carbon contents, aggregate stability,and humic acid composition in different alpine grasslands in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Alpine grassland soils on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau store approximately 33.5 Pg of organic carbon(C) at 0–0.75 m depth and play an important role in the global carbon *** investigated soil organic C(SOC),water-soluble organic C(WSOC),easily oxidizable organic C(EOC),humic C fractions,aggregate-associated C,aggregate stability,and humic acid(HA) composition along an east-west transect across Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,and explored their spatial patterns and controlling *** contents of SOC,WSOC,EOC,humic C fractions and aggregate-associated C,the proportions of macroaggregates(2-0.25) and micro-aggregates(0.25-0.053 mm),and the aggregate stability indices all increased in the order alpine desert liphatic C/aromatic C ratio of HA increased as alpine desert lity indices along this *** all these C fractions,SOC content and aggregate stability were more closely associated with humic C and silt and clay sized C in comparison with WSOC,EOC,and macro- and microaggregate *** results suggested that alpine meadow soils containing higher SOC exhibited high soil aggregation and aggregate *** annual precipitation should be the main climate factor controlling the spatial patterns of SOC,soil aggregation,and aggregate stability in this *** resistant and stable C fractions rather than labile C fractions are the major determinant of SOC stocks and aggregate stability.

Engineering single-atom Mn on nitrogen-doped carbon to regulate lithium-peroxide reaction kinetics for rechargeable lithium-oxygen batteries

Precision engineering of catalytic sites to guide more favorable pathways for li_(2)O_(2) nucleation and decom-position represents an enticing kinetic strategy for mitigating overpotential,enhancing discharge capac-ity,and improving recycling stability of li-O_(2) *** this work,we employ metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derivation and ion substitution strategies to construct atomically dispersed Mn-N_(4) moieties on hierarchical porous nitrogen-doped carbon(Mn SAs-NC)with the aim of reducing the over-potential and improving the cycling stability of li-O_(2) *** porous structure provides more chan-nels for mass transfer and exposes more highly active sites for electrocatalytic reactions,thus promoting the formation and decomposition of li_(2)O_(2).The li-O_(2) batteries with Mn SAs-NC cathode achieve lower overpotential,higher specific capacity(14290 mA h g^(-1) at 100 mAg^(-1)),and superior cycle stability(>100 cycles at 200 mA g^(-1))compared with the Mn NPs-NC and *** functional theory(DFT)cal-culations reveal that the construction of Mn-N_(4) moiety tunes the charge distribution of the pyridinic N-rich vacancy and balances the affinity of the intermediates(liO_(2) and li_(2)O_(2)).The initial nucleation of li_(2)O_(2) on Mn SAs-NC favors the O_(2)-→liO_(2)→li_(2)O_(2) surface-adsorption pathway,which mitigates the overpoten-tials of the oxygen reduction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).As a result,Mn SAs-NC with Mn-N_(4) moiety effectively facilitates the li_(2)O_(2) nucleation and enables its reversible *** work establishes a methodology for constructing carbon-based electrocatalysts with high activity and selectivity for li-O_(2)batteries.

DYT1 MUTATIONS AMONGST EARLY ONSET PRIMARY DYSTONIA PATIENTS IN CHINA

Objective To investigate the frequency of GAG deletion in the DYT1 gene among early onset primary dystonia patients in China. Methods Thirteen patients with early onset primary torsion dystonia were screened for mutation in exon 5 of the DYT1 gene using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography （DHPLC） and DNA sequencing, and the results were confirmed with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP）. Results The GAG deletion mutation which results in Glu302del in exon 5 of the DYT1 gene was found in 5 patients. The detecting results were consistent between with DHPLC and PCR-RFLP. We did not find any other mutations in the DYT1 gene. Conel^iotm The GAG deletion in the DYT1 gene is common amongst early onset primary torsion dystonia patients in Chin＆ The frequency of DYT1 mutation is not significantly different between European and Asian patients with early onset primary dystonia.

Printable,flexible ceramic fiber paper based on electrospinning

Based on the fact that it is challenging for the polymer flexible circuit substrates to meet the requirements of serving in high-temperature environments,this work proposed the idea of using printable ceramic fiber paper as a high-temperature flexible circuit substrate.A ceramic fiber paper with all ceramic components had been developed via electrospinning,solving the problems of low strength and severe strength drop at high temperatures of traditional ceramic fiber *** tensile strength of the prepared ceramic fiber paper is 2.63 MPa,and the reliable service temperature is 1200℃.Its bulk density is about 1.5 times that of traditional ceramic fiber *** can be printed with patterns by commercial inkjet printers like ordinary printing paper and has excellent *** feasibility of ceramic fiber paper as a flexible circuit substrate was verified by constructing a simple *** the fiber paper is significantly bent,the circuit still forms a complete path,which proves that it has a strong application potential for high-temperature flexible circuit substrate and is expected to promote the development of flexible electronic devices serving at extreme high-temperature environments.
